I'm just focused on college work. I am most active Friday on Saturday PST. I got started on my sheet as the character I have in mind is going to be the Chief Starship Engineer of the flagship though I have other roles in mind... Can wee play as commanders of a individual ship?
Also we should use these for uniforms. http://handofmanos.deviantart.com/art/Chronicles-of-Man-uniforms-251370273
Shadow, would you have any interest in being my colony?
I'm a colony of Sini already. Instead I have an idea of perhaps Resia being a center of the Kerisian diaspora due to its economy. Kerisians immigrated to Resia to find better opportunities before the Great and also became a center of the Kerisian Independece Movement?
I decided to go with a Celtic based nation instead of a malay based one (their are still malay based people though in Keris) similar to Ireland before the mid 1990s.
Name: Kerisia Republic (Celt Language) (Kerizia) (Russian)
(Such as England, the United States of America or France)
Demonym: Kerisian, Keriser
History (WIP):
Kerisia is old nation of people, protected by its geography; the island was exotic and foreign to others. It was land of beauty and eternity. Its people were proud race of warriors, priests, and philosophers. Life before the conquest for the people of Kerisia wasn’t so good. A failing empire which was shook by a civil war and a massive famine afterwards left it weak and ripe for other nation to exploit. In this case, Sturvia who slowly conquered the nation by pieces, fighting against the Kerisian who opposed them. Sturvia gained control over Keris on 1879 marking the beginning of Sturvian rule.
Parts of Kerisian territory was directly ruled by Sturvia while other parts were ruled by surviving local kingdoms who pledged suzerainty and fealty to the Empire in exchange to remain autonomous.
Kerisia was slowly conquered and colonized by prisoners and failed revolutionaries by 1879; it was under full control of the empire. Under the empire it was known as the Colony of Keris (WIP). As a colony it was a backwater with its main industry being agriculture. It was one of the poorest colonies in the Empire and was net importer of migrants which led to a massive Kerisian diaspora.
At the advent of the 19th century, the Kerisian Independence Movement was established by many of those that wanted independence included the descendants of the failed revolutionaries and prisoners, the natives of Keris, and transported several ethnic groups from different parts of the Sturvian Colonial Empire that hated their overlords. The opposing group against the K.I.M was descendants of loyalist colonists who came voluntarily including loyal native Kerisians and transported ethnic groups that were loyal to the empire.
Eventually as the empire fell, dissidence occurred on the continent requiring more of the empire to send troops to quell riots. Then on 1929, the revolution began and the Kerisian Independence Forces succeeded in defeating the empire and the loyalist on 1935 kicking out their overlord. Many loyalists Kerisians fled to the empire after the civil war.
It was victory for Kerisia though was bloody and destructive. More than half of the population died in the civil war and industrial infrastructure was destroyed in a nation that recently began to modernize. The nation was poor by the time of the Great War but made progress. High crime rates were common throughout the land. A way Keris made money during the Great War was through their own people, poor men who volunteered as mercenaries for a particular superpower. The money they gained in the Great War was sent back to the government to support the nation.
Ever since the Great War, Keris has seen greater prosperity as a nation though the country faces many challenges ahead. The high literacy rates created a generation of thinkers and questioners who are dissidents of the so called Democracy of the nation and created new political movements and parties in Parliament. More so, the industrial infrastructure of the nation lags behind making it difficult for the nation to exploit its rich resources and lastly, the impending threat of powers that wish to exploit their homeland.
Government: Parliamentary Constitutional Republic
Head of State: (WIP)
National Anthem: WIP
Economy: Keris is perfectly described as a Mixed Economy
Kerisia under Sturvia was a backwater agriculture economy. It was only in the early 1900s that Kerisia began modernization which was disrupted during the Civil War. Agriculture is still a dominate industry though President (?) encouragement of heavy industry led to the creation of several state run companies to mine resources such as iron. Though do to current technologies, it been hard to extract the resources out from the land and has been costly. Due to this the government has allowed some foreign companies to establish operation here though there are heavy protectionist policies concerning foreign companies.
National Religion: WIP
Population: I have no clue.
Geography: I won’t fill this up yet.
(PLEASE be sure to identify where on the map you are, preferably by posting a clip of the region you wish to occupy. We may have to move you around to make it work. Don't be shocked if you don't get all the area you requested.)
Demographics: Kerisians (Celtic based people), Sturvians (Slavic), Biringania (Malay based)
Notable Locations (An overview of important cities, military bases, political prisons (if any) and World Conclave Historical Landmarks (which is to say, along the lines of the Taj Mahal or the Pyramids at Giza))
Cities:
Kerisium
Ardaeternia
Sacermaga
Regime Personalities (Important people in your country; leaders and the such, people that factor heavily into your RP. At the very least, the leader, your WC delegate and, probably, your minister/secretary of war/defense at the very least.)
Institutions (Major institutions of the nations, such as legislative bodies, corporations and, most importantly, the military.)
Military Numbers
Active Duty Component Total:
Army:
Navy:
Air Force:
Other: (Such as KGB/Waffen-SS/Pasdaran/Other type troops -- internal security, or paramilitary forces)
Population Density -Sparsely Populated; Less manpower for economic and military purposes, but it also means that the social infrastructure isn't under much strain. Educational costs and civic projects tend to be cheap.
Industrialization -Semi-Industrialized: An established industrial complex is present in the nation.
Domestic Technology -Obsolete: The industrial infrastructure and domestic technology level of the nation lags behind, though that does not necessarily mean that the stuff it produces is bad, it's just old-style tech; milled and forging as opposed to metal stamping, more wood than plastic, etc, etc. High technology production requires foreign training and foreign experts.
Educational Institutions -Comprehensive Public Primary Schools, Merit/test-score based secondary education (Trade/University Prep), and Private Universities
Domestic Political Stability -Regional Peaceful Dissident Activity
Common Mineral Deposits -Huge deposits of iron, chromium, copper and the like. Valuable Mineral Deposits -Extensive deposits of rare earth metals, and platinum.
Petroleum Wells -Some Petroleum, but technically difficult/expensive to exploit with current tech.
Fissible Material Deposits -None
Military Recruitment -Conscription Based for National Service
Military Reliability -Loyal to National Leader/Law/Constitution
Military Size -Tiny, relative to population, but easier to equip, train, and outfit.
Military Technology -Obsolete
Military Training and Morale 1d6+1d4 -Decently Trained; High Morale
Military Leadership -Corrupt but Competent; Primary leadership rose through Military Academy, other generals were appointed
Military Popularity -Unpopular Secret Services -
Incompetent Secret Service; Invested heavily in local politics, such as replacing your current leader with someone they favor
<Snipped quote by So Boerd>
I've been mulling that over, torn between something Asian or Slavic inspired, but definitely communist flavoured. There are widespread protests in my nation according to the roll, so think reactionary Russia dealing with upstart commies and anti-monarchists. What are you going to do, Boerd? Perhaps we can then start with creating two different ideologies.
<Snipped quote by shadowkiller912>
Since Boerd declined, I'll say yes. From what I have of my history, that could tie in with a revolutionary movement on the homefront. Pulling back from fringe territories/colonies coincided with the formation of the new regime. Imperial overstretch wrecking havoc all around. I'd say my nation has been on the rebound since the latter part of our World War II equivalent.
Cool. PM on the details and anything you want to work out.

A successful colonial revolt would make it super hard for there to be public support for continued military operations in the colonies, which is the very core of my nation.
Thank you, but I must decline.
Alright. Maybe my nation can still be a colony of your nation with the revolution failing. Though I'm still deciding on it as I'm waiting on Sini. Would you be fine with that?
Maybe is does not have to be a superpower. Perhaps my nation could have been the colony of some mid rate power, if any of you guys are willing to take up my nation of being a former colony of yours.
Can we also request an additional roll because when I got my roll I was like...
