Bio

Biopunk, comic book (still mostly superheroes mind you), fantasy and oddball character aficionado. I'm back and ready to git loogin'. I am a Hufflepuff Primary with a Ravenclaw Secondary. I probably model Gryffindor as a secondary and model Gryffindor primary as well. Those are just my hunches but I bleed black and yellow. Though Pittsburgh can go plug a hole for all I care. My spirit guide is Phoebe Buffay which is awesome and fits me like a glove. For you Meyers-Briggs enthusiasts I'm a ESFP

I write almost every day either as a novel or just as casting for my many idea for RPs or just stories. Theme and genres for RPs are mostly superheroes (any kind prefer original superheroes but not against DC or Marvel at all), fantasy (original ideas get a cut to the front), urban fantasy, and biopunk and most any soft sci-fi. Romance is a great sub genre. School RPs are fine but put a spin on them. I'm now open to anime games, I'm team Digimon 4 lyfe and Ah! My Goddess still holds up. I have realized I totally suck at large RPs mostly because I just can't keep up with them under any circumstances, this was a suspicion I had for a long time and it has just been confirmed. I am a Christian as well, if that fact alone makes you squirm please don't cross my path, I will merely ignore you. If it doesn't welcome to my mind.

How you people interpret this gif is probably far better than the reality of it.
I'm hoping Falki will post his character soon. When he's done I'll probably start as he has two characters that actually make sense. A gnome and his companion so I allowed it. This also makes the game able to kickstart sooner. Others has sadly bled out :(
Faceclaim:

Name: Walt Grismer

Species: Human

Height: 5'10'

Weight: 180 lbs

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Undecided

Body Type: Slim

Eye Color: Blue

Hair Color: light brown

Skin Color: white

Relationship Status: N/A

Personality: Walt has a hard time displaying his emotion, he always wants to interact with others but is constantly seen as uninterested, his tone gets dry and he can seem distant, but is actually very attentive, he also is always up for anything, even if he doesn't seem so, and can usually be convinced to do anything quite easily. Walt loves to joke with friends but it sometimes can take a while to get his sense of humor. Walt does have a difficult time talking with people though he can be seen having full conversations to Aveline, his pistol, constantly as he fidgets with her and cleans her meticulously.

Fighting Style: Walt is a mid ranged fighter, his weapons limited range prevents him from staying at a distance, but when confronted in close quarters he is still capable of managing to fight back, often he will use his weapon to disorient foes or create distance, either way he prefers to remain in a moderate distance. To utilize his weapons magical properties requires time that he cannot get in melee.

Bio: Walt grew up with an appreciation for the little things, the slums he lived in made that a necessity. As a child Walt was seen as what could only be described as a savant, if not a tad autistic, his grasp of machinery was evident early in life as he constantly disassembled and reassembled anything that he could get a hand around, this talent was soon getting him into trouble, he would disassemble locks and small generators, many of which never belonged to him in the first place, but as long as it was a piece that he needed he would risk it. Walts adult life was average, he spent his teen years tinkering with machinery until he developed a custom still that enabled him to start making alcohol, which in turn only drove him to further his tinkering, this time into the realm of combustion engines.
Walt was proud of his talents but still he had a hard time marketing himself to better his situation, he tried to bring in people to help him get a bar opened, possibly a machinist shop, something to get him out of the waters of obscurity and into the technical limelight. A man by the name of Burdreau was soon a knight in shining armor of sorts, he took the time to speak with Walt and really understand what it was he could do, but a brewery or a shop was not on Burdeau's list, what he wanted was to bring Walt on as a tech specialist in his band of criminals, he had a heist in mind that would take a man of skill like this.
Walt was unsure of what the man was talking about, he didn't get the nuance of the offer, all he understood and all he cared about was that Burdreau was offering money and fame, all to be exactly what Walt wanted to be anyway, so he accepted. The heist was simple Burdreau and his team would stake out the mark and Walt was just to build a drill to bust a huge safe, Burdreau funded him and gave him the tools to build it, and Walt loved it, when the time came, Walt was right there, as soon as the vault was open, the crew went in, money, jewels, anything worth anything was there, but Walt, for as much as he wanted the money, the only thing that stood out to him was a gun, a revolver decorated with intricate inscriptions, Walt took the weapon and put it under his coat. Burdreau and his team left and all celebrated the heist it was incredible that it went so well, so easy, or at least that was what they thought until the police arrived.
The interrogation was intense and difficult, Walt was uncooperative throughout the process, but when it was revealed that the entire team put him as the key figure to the heist Walt saw what this truly was, however, he wasn't jailed, no, he was left in the interrogation room until a graying figure came in, he sat down across from Walt and then set a box on the table.

"Tell me, of all the priceless objects in my vault you chose a pistol, unassuming and moderately plain. You took no money yourself, no jewels, just the gun."

Walt looked at the man and the box, the gun had been the only thing he wanted.

"I wanted make it work."

Walt whispered, but the man heard, the man smiled at him a moment then he open the box, inside was the gun that Walt had stolen, a velvet lined case held it there. Walt tried to reach out to it but his restraints stopped him. The older man looked at him and said,

"She took a liking to you, lord knows that we haven't been friends in a long time, but I still trust her, as you should, I want you to take her and please... no more stealing."

The mans kind smile was odd, he wasn't mad, he even dropped the charges against him and gave him the gun. Walt left the station with the man, the man turned to Walt.

"My name in Salivar Vinse, I have given you a tool, however you need to gain the skill to use it, she will help you learn, but I will also be sending you to a school, I am not doing this for you personally, but... as amends to Aveline."

This was how Walt came into possession of the pistol Aveline, and his enrollment in Forever Worthy.

Description of Weapon:

Weapon Name: Aveline

Weapon Type: Revolver

Weapon Personality: Aveline is a Comforting Voice to Walt, she in a since acts as his life coach in a sense. From the moment they met, Aveline knew that he was the kind of person to obsess over something, though instead of taking advantage of his obsessive nature, she relies on it, she has been damaged greatly and so she ejoys knowing that Walt will never let her go or forget her, she is almost like a jealous girlfriend and will steer Walt away from relationships that she thinks may wind up causing him to forget her.

Weapon abilities: Avelines trait is her enchanted chamber, with a word the wielder may take a moment to enchant the next shot with a minor effect.

Byrne: The next round exits the barrel as a bolt of flame.

Beorht: the next round dissapates and becomes a flash of blinding light

Flan: The next round flies from the barrel and moves to the target accurately, ignoring gravity and wind. (Can still miss, just magically removes environmental factors.)

Brytsen: The next round explodes from the barrel like bird shot.

Swigge: The next shot is fired silently.

Relationship with owner: Aveline cares about what happens to Walt, he is the first owner she has had that she can truly say she trusts. She guides Walt in his life to try and help him make better decisions to further his lot, seeing as she can tell that his issues with interaction are his downfall, though the two of them never have issues communicating, something about the disembodied voice thing actually helps their situation a bit.

Weapon Bio: Aveline was not always a pistol, originally she was a long spear, and she was used by a powerful lord, though as time passed and swords became plowshares, she too was forgotten, time had left this weapon of war behind, as she was passed down time and time again, if she was used at all she was soon left to waste. in this more modern era a man known as Salivar Vinse, acquired her and made a promise, he would bring her out of obscurity and make her relevant again. So he reforged her, a torturous process, into the weapon she is now, though through it all she thought that it was worth it, Salivar carried her always, and she was happy, until he, as many before, set down his arms for a life outside of war. Aveline waited in anger until a machinist, shattered the door to her vault and stole her away, his eyes only for her, she would find her way back to him somehow, no matter what she had to say when Salivar recovered her, and still, she will not tell Walt what she said in all.
@FalkiThomas OK cool

@RoccanIronclad Ok will add to the faceclaims
No issues, character approved, really hope others get on their character sheets.

Just so we're clear it's Jaime Bell that's your faceclaim correct? Just so I can update it.
Awesome I await it. :D
How the weapon became magical and sentient. Is it a demon possessed, a weapon that did so well for the user it became sentient. You can go crazy with this. How your character came to possess it is in your character's bio
Yes it is perfectly acceptable especially with the gnome idea.
just posted the RP page so get crackin' on character sheets and such

it can be found here
The History

Millenia ago the world of Vosgan was a magical place where spells were hurled and rituals were cast en masse. However one fateful day in the year of the Fool, the magic disappeared and the mighty mages that once led battles and ruled over kingdoms fell to usurpers of normal blood. For over 100 generations the world would be without magic until the year of the Sheep came and the magic came back in a different form, artifacts of long gone eras. Most of them gaining sentience and a personality, some good and some evil. Luckily a married couple that were patrons of magic created a school in the hope that the magic would come back in some way. This couple is Siobhan and Brody Kerensky. The school is called Forever Worthy, due to the fact they don't discriminate against people or other beings who want to pursue magic in a benevolent way.

Forever Worthy

Forever Worthy the school is a classic diesel punk style (think Sky Captain and World of Tomorrow, Metropolis, Hellboy or The Rocketeer) school. In the early years it had a mirror that reflected where the student would be placed and dictated what they would do. However it was scrapped as more students washed out and just couldn't work with what they were given by the mirror. It is now worked more like a more modern school. The staff is sparse but very specialized, from axe to Zanbatou there will be a teacher for any weapon known. Your character is a student in Forever Worthy and is trained to be a Spellsword with your weapon of choice.

Species other than Humans in Vosgan

They're some other races apart from humanity on Vosgan, none of them new to humanity. Most of them are humanoid though some aren't.

Hanokeans: The “Pegacorns” of Hanoke are a race of winged amphibious horses (Think a pony with frog skin and wings like a penguin that make it more aerodynamic in the water). They pride themselves as storytellers. In fact, Hanokeans have a very pluralistic view on religion due to their encoragement of telling stories, with some Hanokeans literally being the sole believer in that religion. Hanokeans have a reputation for being pathological liars as Hanokeans have a very flexible relationship with the truth. A Hanokean will happily forgive a lie if the lie was entertaining. Their weapon is always their horn.

Troglidjinns: Bloated humanoid toads who focus on hallucinagenics for their pleasure and weaponry. Troglodjinns also claim to be the sole remaining race that have magic in it's pure form. These claims are unfounded as most Troglodjinns tend to be isolationist and the ones that have trekked out tend to use their hallucinagenics to trick people into thinking they're magical still. They have only recently finally went to Forever Worthy to see what this new type of magic is like.

Chiffers: The offspring of many magical human bloodlines that eventually became a human offshoot. Chiffers are forever youthful (no more than 30) and seem to be able to channel some pure old magic but in limited bursts (though it's very taxing on their frail bodies). Chiffers are known for their beauty, intellect and frailty (having a lot of limited bloodlines have made their health suffer). Chiffers are tragically mostly used as eugenics lab rats or broodmares for crime lords. Forever Worthy makes their lot in life far more bareable. They always have something that separates them from humans be it antennae, leafy hair, a scent of colonge or perfume or a tail of some sort.

Gnomes: Gnomes are a species of mutalism. They bond to families and take care of the kids, hearth and home. They never steal, exploit or do anything to harm their bonded family. However they also tend to be cutthroat when it comes to protecting their family. A gnome would happily poison a neighbor that threatened their family with a fine for grass that was too long for example. From the soccer mom that secret pops pills to the overworked mogul, all races seem to benefit from gnomes. Their weapons are almost always household items like a frying pan or a broom.
1. Your weapon of choice doesn't need to be sentient, though if you're a member of the Silhouette Mirage Academy it has to be as sentient weapons are always stronger than normal weapons. Plus it removes anybody from cheating around the major drawback of playing an evil character. I made this rule for people who aren't comfortable or confident enough to basically play two characters. All Hanokean weapons aren't sentient though they can reach the same power level as evil weapons with A LOT of training. This is mostly common sense and balancing as Hanokeans will not be the objectively weakest race due to their limited arsenal.

2. It's a hybrid sandbox metaplot. There is a plot but don't feel obligated to make the RP into a grocery list.

3. Weaponry is only the focus of Forever Worthy, you can have lessons that aren't military in nature. If your character is for example a fencer that wants to be a ballerina that's perfectly fine and it can even give you some wiggle room in combat naturally.

4. If you are playing an evil character I will trust you to be brutal to your character. I hate to God Mod, I've been there in real life it's not fun. However I will tell you if I think your character is due for a burn by his weapon. One can't murder hobo in this world without seriously getting messed up.

5. This is modern times so you can be creative with what your weapons are. Plus guns are allowed though due to the school setting live ammunition ISN'T available to students willy nilly. You need permission from the headmistress and headmaster. The older the student the more likely they'll trust you with said ammunition. A bow and arrow is also permissible and a tad more lenient if you take issue with the gun but no live ammo.

6. While this is a school, think of it like a community college (don't know if those are overseas but in America they exist) you can be any age, not just a teenager. Much like real life though there will be a stigma against those who are older and taking classes.

Face Claims already for NPCs

Faceclaims:

NPCs:

Maria Doyle Kennedy is Siobhan Kerensky assistant headmistress of Forever Worthy: The kind, yet at times too forgiving Assistant Headmistress of Forever Worthy.

Bruce Campbell is Brody Kerensky headmaster of Forever Worthy husband of Siobhan: He loves his wife, his school and just chillin'. Despite his lazy exterior he likes a work ethic.

Vincent D'Onofrio is Stanley Tubbs, long-suffering heavy blade specialist: Longest tenured teacher in the school and survivor of many of Phoebe's pranks.

Tatiana Maslany is Natalie Granger, the mature little sister and light blade specialist: Newly divorced younger sister of Phoebe Granger and just as frazzled as Stanley, just for far different reasons (well kind of).

Krysten Ritter is Phoebe Granger, the immature big sister and blunt weapon specialist: The competent, but very much a trickster sister of the Granger bloodline. It's hard to measure whether she's either Loki or Coyote, malicious or just wise in an eccentric way. Her mindset is "Dangle your soul above evil's head and yank it as he tries to eat it."

Mark Hamill is Eddie Grimes, the archaic ranged teacher (bows and the like): A cynical stickler for the rules and kind of a grizzled vet that looks at the future and goes: “Really? This is what I have to work with?”

Hayley Atwell is Minernya, the Chiffer modern ranged teacher: The frail but very powerful Chiffer with visions that she can't really make heads or tails of. Very much into conspiracy theories and concepts that are viewed as "weird"

PCs

Jamie Bell is Walt Grismer

Skandar Keynes is Kai Waterfield

They will be other teachers of mundane subjects but I'm still getting over being ill and just having a nightmare. You are encouraged to have a relationship sheet but it's not needed.
