Did not expect to spend my Saturday in bed with a nightmarish headache. Replies might be slow today.

Bio

So, hello all, I'm Shi. I've been participating in play-by-post roleplays for the past 8 years, though I did just come back from a break. If I'm working with you and go silent for more than a week without any explanation or heads up please send me a message and call me out on it. (Check my status if this happens. I leave most of these warnings there now.) I honestly just lose the motivation to write a lot...or forget to give a warning and then feel super guilty and put off replying longer.

On a better note; I just recently completed college and my schedule has opened up for the first time in years. Unlike before I am no longer balancing school, work, and life.

That is all...

"My life is my own, its secrets are mine,
I keep my world to myself, so don't cross the line,
But if fiction is what you are looking for, then I will be there,
A pen in my hand and a story to share.

That is what I am here for, to create stories galore,
Epics of heroes, battles of gore,
Lives unheard of, worlds not yet explored,
I am here to write, to no longer be bored."

Well, he might want to get used to it, there's no other way out of her hideout.
Shade hands him the other mug with a smile. “It’s nice to meet you.” She chimed, moving over to the table. The girl set the mug down carefully out of way. She didn’t want to knock it over and ruin her chances of catching that sicko. Now with a screwdriver in hand she detached the panel covering the robots mainframe. Once gone she could see the tangle of wires and circuits, the disorganized mess making her groan out loud. “Great. Terror I’m not sure what some of these wires do quite yet so you might want to step back.” She warned with a soft caring tone to her voice. Her eyes never left the bot in front of her though, already reaching for a strange looking tool and a pair of wire cutters.
Any particular reason he wanted to rip Shade apart? Does he not like contact with people or did he think she had him figured out...or what?
Shade smiled at the request and instead began making up a batch of fresh hot chocolate. “We’re a little over a hundred feet under the city. The only way down here is the way we just traveled; there are no doors or elevators to the surface.” She replies, stirring the hot concoction as she spoke.

Finally the drinks were finished and she walked out of the kitchen with two mugs in hand. “Here you go… I just realized I never caught your name, or even introduced myself for that matter. My name is Shadow Walker but everyone calls me Shade. You?” she asks, smiling cheerfully as she took a sip of her own cocoa.
A chuckle escaped her lips as she crossed the distance between them. “They’re at my base, don’t worry though we won’t be walking there.” She says, smiling. Before he could react her left hand gripped onto his shoulder, shadows wrapping around the pair until there was nothing left of their surroundings. It was as if all light had gone out, leaving them in utter darkness. That darkness however shattered just as fast as it had appeared.

They were no longer on the roof of a building. Instead the room they were in looked like it belonged in a movie. The walls were made of black rock, as if it were once a cave, yet the floor was smooth and coated in large grey tiles. There was an entire corner filled with glowing devices and a work table, several large screens shining brightly behind it. Some furniture littered the place, mostly just a couch or two. In a roof off to the side was a kitchen, fully stocked, and a table to sit at and eat. There were other things lying around the room, but the room itself wasn’t much bigger than a gymnasium. A set of stairs however led up to her room.

This was Shade’s lair, her home away from home nestled several stories below the city.

“You can put it on that table by the computers, please. I’m going to go fix us some coffee, this might take a while.” She replies, stepping away from him before he freaked out. Most didn’t know she could travel that far, only believing her to be able to move as far as her feet would take her in the short time she disappeared.
Shade smiled widely at his answer, she really didn’t want to face him on her own. “His name is Dr. Horrible. The guy’s a genius, a madman, but still a genius in his own right. We can’t just walk up and fight him; we don’t even know where he’s set up shop yet. That’s what we need to do first.” She replies. The hero was already nervous, this was the one man who knew her weaknesses just as well as she did. He knew how to break her, knew what buttons to press.

“I might be able to reverse the robot’s transmitter, it might give us somewhere to start, my tools however are back at base.” She mutters, loud enough to be heard but it was mostly her thinking out loud. Her eyes flit from the robot to the man before her, sizing the two up, her mind already trying to figure out a way to get the metal contraption somewhere she could work on it. “Do you think you could pick the piece of tin up? I need to get it back to the base and there’s no way I could carry it…” she asks, a plan forming in her mind.
Shade looked absolutely ticked at the man on the screen. “I see my dear creations haven’t gone unnoticed, but don’t worry they’ll soon be the least of your worries. Soon this city will belong to me and Shadow Walker, your precious ‘Hero’, will be no more, her and any other wannabe heroes out there.” The man said, smiling like a maniac. The girl was already sick of him, he had gotten worse since the last time she saw him, but Dr. Horrible had always hated heroes of any kind. “Dr. Horrible, that sick, twisted, little-!” shade growled as the screen cut off just as fast as it had started.

Her anger rising she raised her foot and crushed the bots screen, disrupting the wires and transmissions so that the bot shut down. That’s when she remembered the man beside her. Eyes like coal looked up at him, the color having grown darker as her rage grew. “The city’s in danger and someone has got to stop that psychopath. Are you in? I could use all the help I can get at the moment.” She asks, her anger slowly seeping away.
Just try jumping back in.
Alexandra took the strange vial in her hands, uncorking it with shaking hands. A sweet smell wafted to her nose from the container, an aroma that almost seemed too sweet. Nonetheless she lifted it to her lips. “Here we go.” She muttered to herself, taking a small sip.

Oh my god- she thought, pulling away from the vial with a look of disgust on her face. Antidote or not the stuff tasted awful but it wasn’t the flavor that made her retreat from the liquid, it was the warm burning sensation it gave off as it traveled down her throat. She quickly gave the vial back to Daniel before bending over at the waist and coughing up a fit. It was then she noticed the little bear looking up at her, clinging to her leg. How long had he been there? Finally though the burning sensation disappeared and she stood up straight.

Her vision slowly returned to normal and her legs stopped wobbling, it seemed to her that it had worked. “Minus the rancid taste it seems harmless. It burns a little though.” She replied, looking at Sasha with newfound strength. Alexandra no longer leaned into Xerc, instead standing on her own.
Alexandra had no idea what she just saw. In truth she thought the bloody fiasco she just witnessed was a figment of her delusional brain. It had to be, it didn’t make any sense to her, but the way everyone else had reacted made her realize it wasn’t in her head. She had to focus, already getting sick of the weak state she was in, so in a desperate struggle to regain some awareness she deftly slapped her hand across her face. It stung, ringing out with a loud smack, but surprisingly her vision was slightly clearer than before. There was still dots clouding her sight though, so it only helped a little, and it probably made her look even more mental than she truly is.

“Here, I’ll try it. If it’s actually harmful I’d have a better chance of surviving it than Sasha, seeing as she’s got the immune system of a human. Plus I don’t think anyone really wants to take it in the first place.” She says, her voice slurred but still distinguishable as she deftly reached out towards the green vial. The shape-shifter knew that if it did turn out to be a trick she might still have enough strength to shift into something that could expel it. She would have done that with the ooze but it had been in her system too long to do any good.
