Did not expect to spend my Saturday in bed with a nightmarish headache. Replies might be slow today.

So, hello all, I'm Shi. I've been participating in play-by-post roleplays for the past 8 years, though I did just come back from a break. If I'm working with you and go silent for more than a week without any explanation or heads up please send me a message and call me out on it. (Check my status if this happens. I leave most of these warnings there now.) I honestly just lose the motivation to write a lot...or forget to give a warning and then feel super guilty and put off replying longer.
On a better note; I just recently completed college and my schedule has opened up for the first time in years. Unlike before I am no longer balancing school, work, and life.
That is all...

]I]A buzz saw?! [/I] Alexandra mentally shouted, her eyes fixed on it as she set the bear down gently with his pieces. It was a nerve-racking realization and the fact they were starting to break through the wall of fire bothered the shifter greatly.
Alexandra quickly dashed over to where Daniel stood, noticing his fatigue more as she got closer. This was taking a toll on him. When she heard what he was planning on doing though she had to agree with Xerc. It would be suicide if he fought them off on his own. But what if there were two of him? “I’ll help him; we’ve got to start getting the others out of here before those fiends from Hell get to us again. After all-“ she started, her body already shifting. In seconds her body matched ‘Pyro’s’ exactly, though she had a lot more energy. “-what could be better than two masters of fire against an army of bugs?” she finished, her voice matching Daniel’s tone exactly without the fatigue. Oh, she hoped she wouldn’t regret this later.
Alexandra had been shocked by the creatures that swarmed in mass numbers, but the reaction of several of her companions was much more shocking. It seemed there were a few terrified of spiders. Even so when several of the nasty creatures flocked around her she realized she wasn’t a big fan of them either. One of the braver ones latched onto her with a vengeance, digging its claw-like nails into her thick dragon skin. A yowl of pain left her maw, the being turning with a small spout of fire escaping its lips. The creature burned to a crisp as the flames caught it but several others lunged at her, meeting the same crispy fate as the first.
Once fending off a short wave of her own attackers she noticed Pyro make a dome of sorts. He had yelled to everyone about getting inside but she wondered how much energy a construct of that size would take from him. She backed up slowly, fending off an oncoming group of these fiends from hell. As she did she watched in horror as Mr. T. ran at them, taking them on with careless abandon as he was injured. With a single burst of fire she scorched her surrounding attackers and took off towards him, her body shifting back into her usual form.
As she ran she picked up as much stuffing and fur as possible before finally sweeping the injured creature into her arms and hightailing it for the dome. “What the hell were you thinking?” she questioned, a little annoyed by his carelessness. Truthfully she was worried though.
Shade practically took off as a loud PING pervaded the air. The device had finished its search. The dark haired individual froze in front of one of the large screens and her eyes widened. Of all the places he could set up shop. He just had to choose the old science building. If memory served her correctly it had only been closed a few months since the new one had been built closer to the middle of the city. It fit his profile though, an empty building with the right tools and its own power supply. “Well we know where he is now. He decided to shack up in the old science building. The one at the edge of town.” She says, turning to face Terror.
Shade lets out a long breath, trying to calm down. Having a meltdown right now would do nothing to put that madman away. Several ideas ran through her mind but one made her smile, it would be a good place to start. “We should try to get an idea on his security and the layout.” Shade replied. The young hero turned sharply, a smirk now on her face. “You feel up for a stake-out?”
“That doesn’t sound pleasant.” Alexandra said, her ears being bombarded by the multitude of high pitched noises in the air. Whatever was beyond that door made the hair on the back of neck stand on end, anticipation and fear taking over her senses. Her eyes flickered from the dark hallway to Bea, noting the slight similarity in the buzzing/ flapping sounds. It seemed this mysterious being had wings of its own and from the sound it was making it was fast. Preparing herself for the worst case scenario Alex shifted, her bones creaking as she took on her dragon form once again. It seemed to her the best bet due to the abilities it possessed. Now all she had to do was wait and see if these things meant to fight them.
Guys I apologize for my absence. My life got hectic as I'm getting ready to start classes in a few weeks. I won't be on as often once that starts, but to give you all a heads up on when I should be available I put my off time schedule in my signature. I'll even put it in this post just incase.
----Rp Availability (In Central Time)---- Mon-Thu: 5:30 PM-10:00 PM Fri: 11:00 PM-2:00 AM Sat 8:00AM- 2:00 AM Sun: 8:00 AM- 10:00 PMI'm sorry for the inconvenience but I thought it would be best to warn everyone.
Shade looked up at Terror, her eyes softening a bit with a glimmer of hope. “The man’s insane. He kidnapped my little brother and used him as leverage. When I went to make a deal with him though he had-“her voice broke suddenly, cutting off what she was going to say. “He killed him in front of me. It was the first time I ever felt like killing someone before. My brother was all I had left. I should have thought it through. He had gotten my only other weakness from my brother, the poor kid was just trying to save us both, so when I lashed out to attack him I left defenseless.” She finishes, suddenly looking angry as she pushed off the couch. Her hand reached to grip her hair, pushing it off the back of her neck to reveal the beginning of a scar that disappeared under her clothesline. “I managed to get out of there with just this.” Shade said, venom lacing her voice. “That’s why I say we have to be careful, lest we lose everything.”
The tone of Terror’s voice made Shade shudder a little bit. So far this man seemed to be very temperamental to the point where it made the hero scared of questioning his anger. “That’s an easy way of putting it. Brute force alone won’t cut it though. We’ll have to break in without setting off any alarms, make our way past any guards he might have, find the exact location he’s running the show from, and then hope he doesn’t already know we’re coming.” She replies, sitting down on the nearest couch with a sigh. “He likes finding people’s weaknesses, exploiting them until his opponent breaks. So, if he knows we’re coming he might be able to find something to use against us.” She adds, speaking from experience. Her gloved fingers gripped her upper arms as she crossed them in front of her. The hero almost looked lost, her eyes slightly downcast as she focused her gaze on her boots.
Alexandra glanced back at the strange girl. There was something about her, a dark sense of foreboding that put a chill in the shifter’s bones. The feeling was familiar though and strangely peaceful, like she was an old friend, yet Alex knew she had never met this girl in her life. Where had she acquired that potion…and when did she learn their names? The shape-shifter tensed, suddenly suspicious of the dancing girl. She found it odd though; if there was any malice towards them why help? The girl wasn’t like the beings they had met before. Maybe they should trust her suggestion. She had helped them when she didn’t have any need to. “Maybe we should listen to her…” Alex chimes, her aqua eyes turning to face the door. It seemed ordinary enough to her.
Shade glanced up a little, watching him as he walked around but turned her attention back to the task at hand. It seemed to her that Dr. Horrible hadn’t changed his design too much, there were a few new attachments and such but she knew what she was looking for. A teal looking wire stood out to her, that would be it, and so she reached over and clipped the wire covering to reveal the copper wire beneath. The girl laid the cutters down, picking up the other device and beginning to carefully attach it to the exposed wire. It beeped slightly as she typed in several quick codes before her main screen flashed, a map of the city appearing as the signal bag to trace. It would take a bit of time however to finish its search so with a quick stretch she stepped away from the bot for a little break. “When it locates the main transmitter the screen will flash. That might be awhile though, this isn’t a small area to cover and that little device has to break through the robots codes. So until then we might want to figure out what our plan is.” She chimed, smiling as she approached Terror.
