Letho made his move, sneaking up behind the Grass Poison Type and knocking it off balance. Then he told them to move in, and move in they did. Breeze struck quickly with Air Slash, throwing a blow towards the Roserade's turned back. [Breeze used AIR SLASH!] Right behind that, Fuse rushed forward with Spark, trying to get a back to back hit on the Wild Pokemon. [Fuse used SPARK!] There was no talking, there was no time to. This was a time for action, not for words.

A swift punch, a brutal kick, and soon the sand filled punching bag laid in ruins on the floor before him. He took a breath and quickly regained his composure, the sudden appearance of Flash the Scizor in Valiant Village yesterday had caught him off guard, the battle could have taken a massive toll on the town had he made it farther into town. Well, it was done, yet he still had a bit of stress and anger to work off this morning. He was about to continue when he heard a voice start to call out to him.

He turned around to see Celty and Devon there. "Oh, it's you two. What can I do for you?" He asked as he strung up another punching bag, the remains of the previous still resting on the floor. "Don't worry about that, that's my usual workout level. Doing a bit extra to work off a bit of... stress." He said, as he turned and continued attacking the inanimate object before him.

Brooks smiled when he heard of the Dracotia Gym. "Ah, that takes me back... I remember when I took on the Dracotia Gym Leader, now he... he was a man who really understood his Pokemon. I heard that he stepped down as Gym Leader, though, and I'm not actually sure who's taken over as leader yet..." He said, scratching his chin.

Brent looked over at Wye. "Well, my brother said it's not unnatural for Pokemon to want to get stronger as themselves, it's just Pokemon preference I guess." He said. Michael nodded. "Right, but a lot of times they pick up their feelings from their trainers too. That's what they said in Trainers School at least."

Brooks looked back towards the back room where Lily had gone, honestly he wanted to see how Shaymin was doing himself, and he also wanted to know what Lily might be hiding from everyone. "I'm gonna go see how Shaymin is doing too, I'll be back." He said, dismissing himself as he headed back.

The Pokemon continued their chatting. <Well... even though we just met... sure, why not? It's good to have friends, at least that's what everyone says.> Said Cyndaquil. Glameow looked over to the Gabite. <First Gym Battle? Forgive me for judging a book by its cover, but you seem to have quite a few battles under your belt, I would have expected at least one to be an official Gym Match.> She responded, Turtwig rolling his eyes. <In english, you sure look like you've been in gym battles before...> Another swift strike from the Glameow and the Turtwig quickly shut his mouth.

She sat in the recovery room that Shaymin was in, looking over at the small Pokemon. "What really happened though..." She said out loud as she sat, thinking over and over the events that played out. "Now that is the real question, isn't it?" Asked Brooks as he entered the room and sat next to her. "Brooks... I was just... oh, I don't even know anymore, today has just been so weird for me in so many ways..." Brooks nodded. "So, what did happen? I'd like to know, If you'd want to tell me."

Lily thought for a minute. "Maybe... I guess it wouldn't hurt for someone else to know..." She said, and then would recount her tale from before. Brooks took in every detail, never a look of skepticism on his face. As she concluded, he nodded. "I think I know what happened to you, and I believe you when you say that happened." He said, opening his bag and bringing out a large book. "These are some of Viore's Ancient Legends, the only ones so far to have been translated from the ancient script. This is the one I want you to look at, it's called 'The Dragon King and the Ten Heroes'." He opened the book to where the story started.

It was a time of conflict. Warring kingdoms battled for absolute control of the land. The magical creatures we once referred to as gods were now used to fight battles for the ones that now control them. One King refused to fight, knowing that war would destroy everyone and everything. He desperately sought for a way to end the conflict once and for all.

He consulted a Wise Man, who told him of the powerful Dragon that held the power to end the strife and conflict. The King, unknowing of what truly awaited him, set off on a quest to find this Dragon. After many weeks, he stood at the base of a massive mountain. With great determination he climbed the mountain to its peak, where he met the great Dragon. He begged the Dragon to aid him, to end the war once and for all.

The dragon granted his request, and in a single day, every war raging across the land was ended. The King, who had summoned the great Dragon, now stood as the most powerful king in the land, the true ruler of the land. He asked the great Dragon once more if he would help him keep peace and security in the land, and the Dragon agreed.

Many seasons passed, and the King grew old and gray. Soon the time came for him to pass on into a new life. Before this, he left control of his kingdom to his Son, and the Dragon pledged to help him achieve what his father had. However, the Son held great darkness in his heart. After taking power, the power he now held quickly corrupted him. He became cruel, harsh, and unjust. He turned the Dragon into his slave, and forced him to punish any who stood in his way.

No one could stand against such power, they thought. And for many seasons, this was the case. Soon though, the Wise Man who had told the King about the Dragon, gathered a group of seemingly random people, and imbued them with the marks of magical creatures. He then sent them out on a quest to find the magical creature that would respond to their mark.

And so they did. After a season had passed, all had returned with the creature the mark responded to. Now, the Wise Man told them they must fight the new King, and free the great Dragon from his control. Many thought they were crazy, but soon they came into battle against him. The castle he resided in was almost completely destroyed in the battle. When the dust cleared and the last of the rubble fell, the new King was at his knees. Revoked of his power and stripped of his title, he was banished to the unknown reaches of the world as punishment for his crimes.

After this, the ones who defeated him became known as the Guardians. They eventually disappeared, leaving but one word for all of history. "Should this power be needed again, a new generation of Guardians will be chosen by powers barely fathomable to us. They will carry on the legacy, the hope, and future of this land!"

Lily read in amazement and awe as the tale recounted a past long forgotten. "So... I'm like... one of these new guardians?" She asked, looking over to Brooks, who would somewhat nod. "Most likely. It's been hundreds of years since those events transpired, and never before have new guardians been chosen. Most forgot about the truth of the legend, and it turned into bedtime stories for kids." Lily looked over to him. "And how do you know it's true?" Brooks just closed his eyes and smiled. "When you've traveled around as long as I have, you pick up a thing or two..." He replied simply.

When the Meowstic and Vanillite introduced themselves, the two broke off of their thoughts for a brief moment and responded. "Yes, you came in last night, but left rather... suddenly. I was wondering where you went last night." Said Omen. "And I can't tell if that was a joke or not about the day thing, but it's the day before the Founders Day Festival! I'm so excited, I haven't been to this in forever!"

As those two as well took seats at the cafe and ordered their meals, Omen and Serenity returned to their thoughts. "So, do you really think your parents won't make it?" Asked Serenity. "Sadly, a lot of things have apparently come up recently that they have to take care of. It's hard being the leaders of a clan. What about your parents?" Serenity sighed. "Dad's been doing a lot of work in Lively Town lately, he's way too busy for his own good... Mom might make it though." She answered.

Pashirisu quickly met with the Pokemon who'd taken on her request. When she met face to face with the Chimchar, it was clear she had been crying a bit. "Thank you so much for helping, I'm just so worried..." She said, sniffling. "Me and Growlithe, we were just exploring down in the crevice. Something caught us off guard, and we took off. When I got back into town, Growlithe was just gone... Please, you have to find him, I couldn't live with myself if he got hurt and I wasn't there..." She said, a few tears welling up.

The Totodile agreed on the team name, giving a little bit of joy to the Bayleef's heart. She turned her head, though, when she heard the voices in the distance. "Sounds like it's over now, we'd better get home then..." Said Selena, looking over to Ember. "Right... well, guess we'll see you tomorrow Devon. Tell Lilisette the same for us, will ya?" Said the Quilava. Giving a few waves, the two Pokemon headed out of the clinic.

Ember decided to kind of escort Selena home, just in case Bruce and his gang were still out and about. But, they made it to her home without incident. "See ya tomorrow!" Said Ember as she dashed off. Selena smiled and waved, and headed inside. "Mom, I'm home!" She said as she headed inside. "Selena, where have you been? You ran off so suddenly earlier, I was worried..." Said the Meganium inside. Dinner was already on the table, and her father sat on the other side of the table. He looked up and eyed the bag the Bayleef had.

"Selena... where did you get that?" He asked, causing the Meganium to look at it herself. "Where did you get that?" She asked. Selena shied away a moment and answered. "Well... that's a bit of a story..." She said as she recounted her tale of that day.

Meanwhile, Ember had quickly made her way home a few houses over. "I'm home!" She called as she trotted in. Her mother was waiting for her, already knowing about her daughter's joining of the guild from earlier that day. "Well, wash up and get ready, dinner's gonna get cold." She said, Ember heading into the other room. "She's really following in her father's footsteps..." She said to herself as she waited for her daughter to return.

As Milton and Zaru made their way on the scene, the two Riolu hid their new Guild Badges out of sight as to not give away the purpose of this meeting. The Chimchar remained very silent while the Zorua was very excited and curious. "Hm... keep in mind Milton, right now I'm still your Guildmaster. Were we all, how you say, off duty, you might refer to me as such, but this is not such a case. In fact, it's quite the opposite." He looked between the two young Pokemon.

"You two have dedicated much of your time and life to my Guild, and in these past few days you have shown very admirable work, somewhat beyond my expectations. And so, I believe it is time..." He brought out two more small wooden boxes and placed one before each of them. "For your hard work and dedication to my Guild, you two are now full members of the Valiant Village Guild, meaning you are fully authorized to take on missions at your own discretion and form legitimate teams." Inside the boxes would be one of the same badges that Rico and Lulu received.

"Well, surprise!" Said Lulu as she held hers up as well. "Mhm, we're all full members of the guild now!" Spirit nodded. "Yes, but, for once, I feel this is a time for celebration for you four. If you wish, you can take the day to yourselves. This is more of a week for festivities, so do not take this time lightly. Now, I've got my morning workout to complete." Said Spirit as he turned and headed to the other side of the room. Rico and Lulu seemed to both have the same idea. "We're gonna stick around here for a while, work on our Aura Sphere." Said Rico. "Yeah, catch you guys later!" Said Lulu as the two headed off to a private training room.

After conversing with their old frinds and meeting some of the newer Pokemon in town, the duo had found themselves at a local cafe, if you could call it that. The special was Oran Berry Pastries with Pecha Berry Juice. Each had ordered one of each, and had seated themselves at a small table. "Yum! It's been so long since I've had these, I've missed them SO much!" Said Serenity very happily. Omen still had his mind on what he had discussed with Spirit, and was thinking about that when he felt the prod from the Sylveon's feeler. "Omen? What's on your mind now?" She asked.

"Nothing you need to worry about..." He answered, and a worried scowl appeared on her face. "Is it... another one of those feelings?" She asked. Unable to fully lie to his partner, he nodded. "What is it then?" She asked, now growing more and more concerned. "To be completely honest, I'm not sure. It wasn't as clear as they usually are, that's what had me so concerned. I talked to Spirit about it, he's not sure either." He finally looked up and saw the expression on his partners face. "Really, don't worry about it, whatever it is, I'm sure we can get through it." He said

The two children were caught somewhat off guard by the sudden question. It was true, they were a team now, they should have some kind of team name. "What would be a good team name? Hmm..." The Quilava thought hard. "Team Folio? No, wait, that's a little Cheesy... Team Destiny? No, actually, I think that one's already taken..." Ember would think up many different team names, but would instantly take them back. Finally Selena sighed and spoke up. "What about Horizon?" Ember stopped and looked. "Horizon? Why that?" She asked.

Selena looked out through the door of the clinic. "Well, for starters, where we all officially met was the Observation Platform, where you could see everything clear to the farthest horizon." She stopped, and a smile came across her face before she continued. "And, my mom always tells me that the future is on the horizon." She said. Ember thought about the name for a bit herself. "Team Horizon... I like it, it has a nice ring to it anyways. What do you think Devon?"

Letho partially agreed on the group attack, but thought it wiser to have the Roserade closer to them so they have the advantage, and also not to knock the Pokemon out in case it knew anything they could use. "Not the best thought out plan, but then again neither was this mission. It'll do though, I'll go in with Spark then, try and get a Paralysis Effect off." Said Fuse, nodding. "I'll stick with Air Slash, it should get some damage off, but I'll be careful just in case." Breeze responded.

Fuse looked down at Gren, who appeared to be getting ready to attack already. "Easy there, Gren. Don't go overboard, we want this one alive." Said Fuse, thinking afterwards. "If it's even possible for him to go overboard... I swear I'm gonna be reporting back to Glyph that this kid got himself killed..."
