Relationship Status: Single
Questionnaire: What first impression do you make?"I like to think my first impressions are charming, though I suppose I can be a bit dry. I try my best to be somewhat likable to most people. Usually people don't immediately pull their weapons on me, so I guess my first impression can't be
too horrible, eh?"
What are you like in a high stress situation?"My friend, I am highly stressed on a daily basis. High stress situations don't really have an effect on me anymore. I have passed beyond this realm and moved into one where I am so stressed that I no longer feel how stressed I am. You feel me? I mean, don't get me wrong the crew is... uh... They're not horrible, but running a ship is a lot of work that I'm barely qualified to do so I'm on the brink of throwing myself overboard on a daily basis."
What are your best and worst qualities? My best quality is probably that I'm very well organized and generally have myself put together. I can put on a good face for the crew, give them a rousing pep-talk, pretend I know what I'm doing well enough that people believe me, that kind of thing. My worst quality is that I am horribly ingenuine and have a very bad habit of lying and pretending to literally everyone, no matter how close I feel we might be.
What is something about yourself that you would never admit to anyone?I desperately crave to have an authentic connection with another intelligent creature, but not enough to actually take the chance and fully trust anyone who wants to be my friend. It's a wonderful whirlpool of self-hate and regret.
What are your dreams?Honestly? Get rich, retire to a nice house somewhere in the Malka system and live in a little cottage being the grumpy old lady down the road for the rest of my life. Not just the grumpy old lady, the
rich grumpy old lady who is always dressed more fabulously than you will ever be in your life.
How do you want to be seen by others?Well put-together, smart, perhaps a little intimidating but in that way where you simultaneously fear and want to be the person, you know? I want to be liked enough that people don't want to kill me, but feared enough that no one wants to get terribly close and in my business either. I might like being around people, but I also like my privacy.
How do you see yourself?I... Um. I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to answer that. A captain, I guess? Or at least someone who wants to be a captain. I don't know. I like to think I'm good at my job, but there's no telling whether you're actually doing a good job or if you're just delusional and no one's told you yet. I think I see myself as trustworthy. I may lie a lot, but usually it's for a good reason, and I don't stab people in the back. I may be a criminal and do a lot of things that others don't consider "right" but I have my own code that I stick to, and not stabbing people in the back is part of that.
Do you tend to make snap judgements, or stop and think about things?I stop and think about things, if time allows. If I make too many snap judgements then I can get myself and my crew killed. On the other hand, sometimes there isn't any time to actually sit down and think things over before acting, so in those cases I just try to make sure I do what's best for the crew and just... pray. Never really been one for prayer, but in those moments, I'm definitely praying to whatever god decides to take notice of me.
What haunts you?A lot of things. We all have ghosts in our past, and sometimes those ghosts will wake you up at night to listen to their wailing. Sometimes they are actual literal ghosts. I don't know. I think there was this one time I killed a guy, and at the time I thought I was justified, but looking back... He didn't deserve to die. Come to find out he's got a wife and kids that depended on him and now thanks to me they're left to fend for themselves. I wouldn't really say I have many morals in life, but stuff like that just makes you take a good, hard look at yourself before promptly giving yourself a punch straight to the jugular.
What is your philosophy on life?Do your job, don't be afraid to get your hands dirty, and stick to your crew no matter what.

Summary: Dihala grew up on Iyananor. Her parents were part of a group of smugglers so they were constantly moving, but despite being surrounded by criminals on a daily basis Dihala was a rather sheltered and happy child. She was the only child in the whole group. As a result of this, everyone doted on her and they were always giving her little presents. Usually the presents were either special snacks, a story, a small piece of jewelry, or something else like that. Her parents didn't mind everyone being so active in their daughter's life, and so Dihala grew up with more aunts and uncles than any child could ever want.
One night on their way to a small town on Ecrin, a loud boom sounded from above decks on the smugglers' ship. It was followed by a horrible, blood curling cry of battle, and in that one instant everything in her body had gone cold. Before Dihala could ask what was going on, one of her "uncles" had grabbed the child and hid her in one of their smuggling holes on the ship, then did his best to cover her up. That didn't stop Dihala from peeking out when she heard screams.
A raiding party of mercenaries had come boarded them (though she didn't recognize what they were at the time). They must have seen the ship on their scanners and decided they wanted some new cargo, and despite the whole caravan's effort to fight them off the mercenaries eventually killed everyone. After gathering whatever supplies they deemed worthy of stealing, they lit the ship on fire and left. They either didn't notice her, or thought she was too small to be of any use.
That night Dihala witnessed atrocities too horrid for her to ever speak of to another creature.
A passing ship of military personnel saw the flaming ship and rescued her, and eventually took her to an orphanage on Shyllshara. She didn't speak for the better part of her childhood, but eventually her mental trauma healed to the point where she was able to be a functional member of society. Soon after that happened she boarded a ship to Iyananor. She'd intended to just pass through and see some of the sights at first. After all, this was the trading capital of the world, and had some of the most diverse and amazing scenes she'd ever seen in her life. But Dihala fell in love with the planet. Eventually she made her way into a bit of the underworld, and through some contacts there she discovered The Consortium. She was intrigued by the idea of free exploration. True freedom had been something she felt she'd had as a child, and it had been brutally ripped away from her. She longed to have that freedom and sense of belonging again. As soon as she was able, Dihala went to The Summer's Escape and started on her new path in life.
There were many trials she faced as a new member on a Consortium ship. It wasn't the life she had expected, but slowly she'd learned to love it anyway. It was a hard life with many tragedies, betrayals, and near-death experiences, but eventually Dihala had learned enough and proved herself to the point where The Consortium helped her find her own ship- The Wayward Maiden. After a period of training with her captain, The Consortium approved her license for the The Wayward Maiden and started to assign a crew to it.
