Not to get all psychological, but some people are actually just 'wired' to take things people say literally. I'm like that to an extent, but I've learned that people here are usually just shitposting.

This bio will get reconstructed once I've left the site for good. I'll be collecting my data in the background for now, and sorting some loose ends. I'll be on and off to do it, so don't think I'm back if you see me around. Once I've dealt with everything, I'll log out properly and remove my 'ghost' status, and that'll be the last this site sees of me. This community is in serious need of growing up, and I'm not the least bit surprised that role-plays die here so frequently.

The 'Grim Reaper's Gambit' role-play is likely to reboot elsewhere eventually. The role-play will have some modifications, so contact me if you're curious since the original project won't accurately explain everything. There's no determined date for it to happen yet, since I've got other priorities and I'm not investing a lot of time in it until enough of the people interested have free time to properly commit (lack of dedication on the part of some players practically destroyed the previous version; it's very apparent it would've died even if I hadn't decided to leave). There's a group that're quite interested, but most of them are busy.

Anyway, come back later for an update later -- or don't; it's your life.

I'll wait on you then, and potentially include a 'GM post', which will - at least in my current format ideas - generally always be in the same posts as Leonard's posts (assuming Leonard is able to post), but will be separated from his location with the header 'NPCs'.

These 'NPCs' header parts of my posts will basically cater to any location that Leonard himself isn't present. As for Leonard's own location, I haven't decided whether or not I'll list 'Leonard Christian-Walker & NPCs' as the header whenever an important NPC is present.

Nicely posted on your end as well. That was entertaining, and like both Leonard and Conrad it did a good job of getting the right 'feel' for the character. Again, there's some parallels and contrasts between Reinald and Leonard that'll make things interesting. Also liked the piece of music you chose, so I listened to it while reading.

I'm honestly thinking I'll use the same BBCode you did to shrink the music, since it makes things less noticeable that way.

Snaggle mentioned that @Aewin would be encountering Conrad soon, so I may or may not wait until then to post.

Go ahead and edit in a piece if you'd like, since I'll be happy to listen to it and do a reread if I like the music. I'm a big fan of atmosphere, so adding music is likely to be a staple on my end since people seem to be responding well to the idea.

Honestly, as a general rule I'll either listen to the music I set for the scene or your character's 'Theme Music' when I read your posts -- if you don't include music of your own for the scene, that is.

Oh, I don't mind at all if you're moody sometimes, since I'm like that a lot too thanks to all my stress and sleep deprivation -- not gonna be a hypocrite and tell you off for it when I'm not planning on apologizing when life makes me have moments. We need to be a bit emotional at times to survive (we're humans; not robots). I have plenty of weird moments as well.

Lol, moments like that're fun. Admittedly, I have them a lot more often when I'm not the GM - mostly because when you're a GM you need to be a bit more structured to keep the plot moving - but sometimes even then I like to let loose a bit and just get into the character's head to make things have more depth. Generally speaking, I'm an avid lover of in-depth introspective posts and I go out of my way to do them myself when it'll avoid spoiling things.

Honestly, I thought it was a good opening post, and I like how it creates a stark contrast in dynamic between the two characters who've gotten introduced. Both of them are seemingly anxious and a bit melancholic, but then there's some direct opposites -- one of them is introduced with a very action-heavy scene to showcase they're a street smart slum kid of sorts (also tried to emphasize that he never lets a bad situation break his resolve, generally speaking, even if he is more tormented and down on his luck than he seems), while the other has a very calm and slow scene to emphasize they're a former author who likes to recluse away from the world (whose troubled nature also seems a lot more blatantly apparent). Both also had little bits of humour or snark tossed in, but it created different - though not inherently opposing - atmosphere for each of them.

At the very least I'm hoping I introduced Leonard well enough in everyone's eyes, but I personally like what you've done with Conrad.

Finally caught up with the updates. No problems for me, the language barrier sounds like fun though ahaha.

Status update:

  • As previously stated, 'The Rules' got an additional entry.

  • Once again as stated previously, I'm now going to experiment a bit with formatting to see if I can work out my ideal stylization/atmospheric method. If I don't work it out before my next post, then I'll just edit all my posts once I finally settle -- I like my work to remain consistent with itself, even if I don't care if we're not all consistent with each other.

  • With video game logic as the basis for this idea, 'The Glossary' will probably receive entries upon the first time a player character mentions it or is made aware of it, or in some cases when the players are made aware. These entries will not contain all their details immediately, so these status updates'll not only specify when entries are added but also when they're edited. With this in mind, thanks to Conrad bringing it up Tarot Cards now have an entry added to 'The Glossary'. I still haven't settled on the formatting of that section, so expect it to change a bit. I intend to remove the other entry currently there (potentially without warning) once I settle on how names of individuals who haven't been revealed properly - only implied - will get mentioned in the section for NPCs in the character tab. Consider this all a work in progress. I'm still not too comfortable about organizing 'The Glossary' into categories, but if someone can give me a list of decent categories that would cater to all possible entries then I might use their idea.

Lol, while I'm all for being a smartass since I do it too, I guess all I was doing was pointing out the irony of your complaining about gifs when you take your avatar/signature/bio into account. More than anything, it was just an amusing observation.

Anyway since Sho has given us the freedom to do our own layouts, I think the discussion is pretty done and over with. Everyone can do their own thing as long as they adhere to the OOC rules, and everyone is happy. Yay~

Status update:

  • The opening IC post (well, 'posts' now) have been edited enough that they're worth rereading. Those of you planning to interact with Leonard will find that it doesn't actually change anything in practice, but in general I think that post looks a lot better now with some of the additions/changes I wanted to make. It should also solve any of the issues we might've had, tsukune. Also, I'll potentially be editing those posts once more, but this will only happen when I've settled on the format I want to use for my posts, in which case all posts up until that point will be edited on my end for consistency sake.

  • 'The Rules' will be receiving a minor addition after this post is finished, since I want to clarify more posting details such as the inclusion of location in your posts.

I appreciate all the clarity, since I'm not all that computer savvy. I actually was aware of all the differences between jpg/png/gif/et cetera though, and also that file size is the sole determining factor (as a general rule) for loading time and data draining. It's still good to have all this out there, so everyone knows.
