Hello! Not sure if I'll actually be able to join, but I saw this and two things came to mind to say! I 'loved' the My hero academia setting! Setting up super powers with 'physical' requirements and limits was a great effect I think! And I've always liked RPs setup in that world!
Also.. when I read through digital world... All I could think about was this old pony joke!... The fourth wall breakers arrive first! XD not that someone's super power couldn't cause something similar XD hahahah.
Though the last one makes me wonder if 'digital life' could reach through to the real world in that setting, and 'draw itself', or modify itself with those digital tools.
"HAHAHAH! I'm Glad to see that you're all so eager and excited!" The man in the suit expressed his approval of their energy with glee, and turned once more towards the doors with a flourish of one hand "And there is one last thing that we shall show you now that the last seconds are ticking down!" A quick glance to another teacher "If you please."
The suit clad man with the stone hand and face gave a firm nod, before leaping off of the back of the platform and... striking the ground... A rumble followed shortly after, and as if designed like a strange puzzle-box, the city began to move, each building and section of street seeming to move on it's own, re-shaping the visible layout and visibly traveling farther throughout the exam area.
Suddenly the very simple looking street corner that had been there, was replaced by a wrecked shop, a three story building that had crumbled from being moved, yet in a strangely deliberate manner, it even had visible ways to get through that could be seen from the crowd of aspirants.
"The City Shuffle! Hahah, Don't worry, It won't be repeated once you're out there, but I hope none of you thought it would be a leisurely race through the city! AND REMEMBER! NO PATH IS A TRUE DEAD END!"
His mouth opened once more to speak, only for the great siren to blare again at last, drowning it out... or, not? "AH! IT IS TIME CHILDREN! BE FREE! SHOW THE WORLD YOUR DETERMINATION TO BECOME HEROES!"
And like that, Chaos broke out all across the crowd, as the students charged for the exit!... A mere wrecked building would be no obstacle even for untrained aspirants, surely! Especially not a whole crowd of them!
...
Quite literally, someone among the first few smashed a hole clean through as if the stone was made of paper, and from there other's 'poured' through the building and out into the rest of the area, scattering in all directions towards whatever obstacle they thought seemed the easiest to them!...
One thing to note, once the initial wave of rabid hopefuls had wrecked it more, it became a bit more apparent that the area just outside of the entrance was a roughly 100 meter square area of various wrecked buildings and debris, wrecked cars, holes in the ground, a sub-way entrance leading east along the wall.
Another thing to note... some aspirants had gotten trapped in the disrupted debris from the first building in the chaos of so many frantic people charging through it... They didn't seem to be injured, somehow, but were utterly trapped, and unfortunate enough to lack a quirk suitable for the situation.
Once outside as well, you would be able to see that the next section east appeared to be a still intact city block, while to the south looked a bit oddly like a 'china-town' district, and to the south-east was... a Jungle?!
The 125th Annual Aspiring Hero's Exam was finally here, the whole city watched from afar as the contents of the exam area was broadcast on massive screens that littered the outer walls. the whole nation watched in broadcast as the call was made!
Many of you had chances to get to know eachother, or to connect with new acquaintances, potential classmates, Some of you didn't get the chance, or perhaps didn't take it.
Regardless, when the bell tolls, the call must be answered!
A Siren from across the water, audible for miles, signaled the beginning of the Pre-exam gathering! The one time of the year when it's call was a good sign, a sign of the future, of the next generation of heroes getting their chance to enter the ground of the New York Bay University.
The Siren was the ten minute signal, giving the aspirants ample time to make it to the entry building, the Former Abraham Lincoln High School that was long ago converted into the entry to NYBU's Entrance Exam area. When entering the western doors, aspirants could see the walls of the testing area extending all the way down to the shore, and beyond that, a Dark metal wall rising up from the ocean, frightfully reminiscent of the Tartarus prison facility from this view.
Within though, an entire building the size of a 'normal' high-school had been converted into a stadium, where hundreds of aspirants had gathered, with a platform in it's center, and a massive set of doors at the other end... otherwise it held little decoration, merely a doorway into their new life, as far as anyone could see at least
The central platform though, It held a small gathering of individuals, mostly familiar faces, and all teachers in the Academy.
One was a man who, for no apparent reason, was dressed like a baseball player. Another wore a uniform befitting surviving records from a thousand years ago! Then there was the one done up in a classic cowboy's hat and covered by a cloak below the neck. Another wearing a suit, with large stone hands, and a face that looked equally carved Then a... weird striped horse with a broad sharp grin. And next was the weirdest, a smooth skeletal head ontop of a cloak Then came a man in a red and blue striped body-suit wearing a motorcycle helmet. Followed by a remarkably normal looking man wearing an unusually thick doctor's coat and round glasses. Behind them on a slightly more raised portion was a large bear of a man, done up in full old-school military fatigues, goggles and all. He was stood behind another man dressed in a perfectly pressed dress suit, looking the most normal of the bunch...
Finally, though the place was quite large, it seemed most of the aspiring heroes had been clustered together around the front of the platform, Some knew eachother, many didn't. Some blended into the group, and some stood out at a glance, like that unusually fat man in a Gi, The big Red haired grinning horseman in a suit, or the smaller horse in a hoodie that seemed to glow, The freakishly tall man that loomed over the whole crowd, The slimy black creature, or the tall man dressed in a full fluffy russian winter getup, even the red haired girl who was... wearing a crown of whisky bottles?
The crowd was as diverse and strange as every year, riddled with all kinds, from the confident to the desperate, the average to the outstanding to the downright weird. And every last one was here in pursuit of becoming a hero!
"WELCOME! POTENTIAL STUDENTS!"
The man in the suit stepped forward, the group of teacher's parting for him to near the edge of the platform, a smile on his face and a strange sense of approval emanating from him as his voice projected unnaturally well.
"I'm glad to see that so many of you have come this year, and I hope to see most of you admitted to classes this year!"
His smile waned somewhat as he brought his hands together and bowed his head slightly
"Unfortunately, and I'm sure you understand this, we cannot just 'admit' students because they desire it, as much as I wish that one day the world would be safe enough for will alone to be enough, I must ensure you that any failure to meet criteria is to ensure the safety of those who cannot keep up. The training you will undergo will become dangerous in time."
And he straightened back up, returning his smile and raising his arms in delight
"But remember, you can always train yourselves, improve, and try again next year! We're not as picky about age here as some schools are!"
He turned then, waving a hand towards the massive doors, which began to creak open, light from the sun peering through, and yet his voice seemed to ignore the noise of the doors when being heard.
"But now, let me explain the exam this year!... naturally, I'm sure you know we change things up each year, to be 'fair' but strict, we study each aspirant and do our best to create challenges that are not inherently impossible to anyone... naturally, this is next to impossible with so many of you applying... And thus, we long ago designed this exam ground!"
The doors opened enough to peer outside... it wasn't very impressive, it just looked like it led to the corner street of a city block with a wall at the end.
"A One Kilometer area, city blocks, buildings, roads, riddled with obstacles, challenges, and traps designed to test you all... Your goal, is merely to reach the bridge gate at the opposite corner of this area within the time-limit. As per usual, things will always be different from last year, and you will be graded on different criteria."
He leaned over then, raising one hand with a finger extended in a chastising manner
"There are only a couple of rules! You will not act to injure other aspirants, You may not leave the walls of the exam area except through the exit gate, and you may go higher than the walls themselves, there is a sensor grid tracking that level."
He returned to a normal stance then, putting his hands back together and smiling merely pleasantly.
"Now then, We will allow you all a minute to converse with eachother, but once the siren blares again, It will be time for you all to start running!"
Base CS Skeleton: Name: Reggie Nickname: Runt Alias: Regenerator
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Species: Anthro Horse
Height: 7'2" Weight: Estimated at 400~
Characteristics: Seems to have an unusual number of scars, mildly visible under his fur, though they come and go with time.
Appearance: A Tall, shaggy, white furred stallion, well defined for his age, with Bright red, obscenely long, mane and tail, and hot-pink eyes, likes to wear classy outfits.
Personality: To say that he relishes a good fight is an understatement, Among other reasons for wanting to become a hero was included finding opportunities for his blood to boil with the bliss of battle... He likes his alliteration at times too, clearly.
That aside, he's actually pretty chill outside of a proper fight, a bit boisterous perhaps, but overall eager to make friends and comrades, to improve himself, impress his peers and superiors.
Biography: He was raised for most of his life only by his Father, for many years he was simply raised as a normal child, rabidly following the stories of heroes and excitement and action, until finally his quirk was discovered amidst a fight with elementary school rivals.
Once it was discovered that his quirk was regeneration focused, He grew more eager to test it, aggressive when threatened, boisterous, confident, shameless, certain that he was invincible, the thrill of a fight becoming like a drug... It's unclear what exactly happened to get him to chill out with that, but it seemed to coincide with a certain former rogue turned hero taking notice of his quirk... perhaps he imparted some 'old man' knowledge about his own childhood and the path that the boy was heading down...
Skills: School-fights/partial pre-admission training: He's fought regularly in school and on the streets over-time, and Received some personal training from a certain wild hero with a regeneration quirk of his own... He's developed good instincts and a basic understanding of quirk abilities in a fight, but still has a tendency to start out reckless and update his fighting style in reaction.
Cooking: He developed a fair bit of his own cooking skills through simply feeding himself at home, though as a side-effect, this also means he has intimate knowledge of the use of sharp objects.
Weaknesses: Aside from being young, barely a student yet, and inexperienced in general, no great personal weaknesses stand out... unless you consider enjoying a fight a bit too much a weakness...
Oh yes, he does have a tendency to rely on his quirk 'too much' for fighting, and hasn't had quite as much physical training as would be needed to maximize it's use... his self preservation instinct is pretty low...
Equipment: None official yet!
Quirk: Unbound Regeneration
Reggie can regenerate from quite literally any form or amount of physical damage, even that he may cause to himself His body's 'limiters' have all broken over the years, allowing him to put more into anything he does, enough to break himself. As long as he keeps himself well fed, he can maintain his regenerative abilities. It seems to have influenced his aging to some degree, as he's confirmed to be older than he looks. This can also protect him from disease and sickness by simply replacing infected cells.
The constant regeneration of aged cells leads to him having an increased metabolism This high metabolism also means he must eat more to maintain his body's requirements to function
Regeneration also requires a proportional amount of energy to regenerate damage done Continuous regeneration will slowly tire him out unless he keep an intake of nutrients. Currently he can regenerate roughly his entire body mass about 5 times before passing out from exhaustion, though he'll grow fatigued after 2 times. By three he started suffering from excessive hunger, and 4 leads to starvation effects.
Base CS Skeleton: Name: Hedonism Incarnate Nickname: Heady, Ink, Love-bug
Alias: Changeling Hero: Love-bug
Age: Looks 16
Gender: Male
Species: Humanish
Height: Roughly 6' when Bipedal.
Weight: Varies, standard is 180
Characteristics: Insect like habits, fangs, weird eyes, fluffy moth cape!
Appearance: Having Shape-shifting options, many factors of his appearance will vary greatly, But his standard...
Just replace that real cape with a fluffy red moth collar and wing-cape, and change the eyes to red.
Personality: Despite his full name, Ink is not actually a rabid hedonist... In-fact, he described himself as a 'true' hedonist, one who seeks pleasure and enjoyment in all it's forms, with controlled limits, only in-so-far as it will not ruin the pursuit of pleasure... Mostly meaning, not so far that it gets him arrested, angers people, or spoils all the fun.
He is still incorrigibly flirty and affectionate, seems to consider personal space a 'suggestion' instead of a standard, and seems to have no sense of taboo when it comes to interacting with people.
It's not 'just' an invasive personality though, some of it surely stems from his quirk, which is fueled by feeding on the emotions of others, his favorite should be quite obvious...
All of this aside, he wouldn't be in a hero course if he was just out to flirt and feed. He doesn't show it often, but there is a certain conviction in him that seems to stem from the stigma that is often ascribed to his ancestors, and has demonstrated that he is more than capable of... acting like a normal person... if he feels like it.
Biography: Ink comes from an ancestry riddled with changelings, A strangely common mutation quirk in his homeland of Ireland, related heavily to shape-shifting, which is also plagued with ancient superstitions about such creatures.
Suffice to say, since he's here, one can assume that his parents quickly migrated to America, though the actual motivations aren't known, nor relevant, to the school, nor are most details about his up-bringing.
Three things have always held his fascination, Emotions, Biology, and Heroes, The former two stemming from his up-bringing for certain, but the latter from growing up in a land riddled with heroes... and a certain determination to spit in the eye of superstition by becoming one, even if they do only 'half' apply to him.
Skills: He has few practical skills when it comes to everyday skills, though a few handy things do stem from his upbringing.
Emotional Manipulation: His father 'lives' off of emotional intake, His whole family line is riddled with experienced Emotivores, a veritable well of knowledge and experience on how to encourage different people to feel different things that he can feed on... He tries to be a good boy about abusing this, but once in a while one just can't help themselves.
Biology and Physics Study: He couldn't call himself 'skilled' in the fields, but due to the way his quirk functions, he has at least been studying the subjects for years, particularly in relation to his own body.
Emotional Identification: Many people 'show' a different emotion than what they're really feeling, and he's developed a knack for picking out what that is... you know, if he's not willing to just have a taste...
Weaknesses: Aside from a lack of most average skills that humans tend to have, He has a bit of a sensitive spot for superstitious nonsense and crude assumptions... or rather, he finds it incredibly stupid and ignorant and easily steams up when the subject is encountered.
Equipment: He isn't known to possess any hero equipment yet, but he does have several plans for some that could help him.
Quirk: Bio-Kinetic Emotivore
A Fusion of his parent's quirks actually, the lucky devil... Though it has dulled some functions of his father's mutation quirk, some parts ended up synergizing nicely!
First, it allows him to feed on the emotional energy that sapient creatures produce, any emotion 'can' be consumed, but positive emotions are healthier, while negative emotions tend be problematic, though can still be used in an emergency.
His favorite emotions are Pleasure, Love, Camaraderie, and Excitement, in that order.
He can feed passively at a distance at a low rate, enough to rebuild his power to capacity over the course of minutes to a whole day depending on how many people he's around and intensity of emotions. [A stadium full of people might upgrade that to seconds actually.]
Feeding on his opponent in a fight is a common tactic, though passive feeding has no negative effect on the target.
Direct feeding can be initiated through direct contact in different stages: Skin Contact: Weak feeding, no strong effects on target, faster than passive feeding. Mouth contact: Stronger, Capable of leaving a target feeling slightly fatigued after a few seconds, much faster feeding, has minor backlash on Ink. Mouth to Mouth Contact: Extreme, Capable of exhausting his target if he doesn't pace himself, or cycle some of the fed on energy back into them, Can reach his capacity in seconds, but has intense backlash on Ink himself.
That is the specifics of how he can feed to empower his quirk, though he can 'eat' normal food just like any other person.
His mother's quirk allows him to expend energy to influence biological factors... Currently, this only involves his own body, but theoretically he can affect others once he learns enough about them.
His most common use for this synergizes with his father's side of the blood-line, and allows him to morph parts, or all, of his body into different forms.
Doing so quite produces considerable heat however that builds up in his body.
The limits of 'what' he can change are restricted only by the limits of his understanding of making biology 'work', so he has to study and practice new things in order to make them work safely
Currently he has 2 full form changes, and a handful of smaller ones that he uses. [I'll detail them as he shows them IC ;3]
The other factor of his mother's quirk is that it allows him to expend energy to influence biological factors!
The potentials for this are tremendous, but also dangerous as it involves a lot of things that the human body is not meant to do, and neither is his, and at present he has not mastered this side of his quirk well enough to use it reliably.
The Back-lash from hard Feeding: When feeding too hard on a target, The emotions that he consumes 'become' his own, influencing his own emotional state to varying degrees depending on how hard he went at it.
Over-feeding: When over-feeding, he can become kind of bloated, and may 'literally' leak emotions... It's unpleasant sometimes!
Hunger: Every use of his powers increases his hunger, though it can take a while to kick in if he's well-fed, and is generally less intense than his ancestor's due to only being partially required, but can still become an intense motivator... and also a clear indication of how low his reserves are.
Bio-Kinetic Backfire: Many of the functions that he can use his mother's quirk for, the human body is 'not' meant to do, sometimes to even survive, adding another obstacle to many potential uses for his quirk.
Morphing-Costs: The actual transformations themselves drain his reserves to produce, but these changes are actually permanent. If he falls unconscious, or runs dry on necessary energy he will be stuck that way until he can recover enough to undo it.
Heat Buildup: Using his quirk to morph his body burns a considerable ammount of energy in his cells, causing them to produce a great amount of heat, and by extension, that heat will build up. It desperses like natural, but doing so too quickly can cause harm, and too much dispersed build up can over-heat him in general and disrupt his ability to focus... though as a potential bonus, it does help dealing with the cold!
Base CS Skeleton: Name: Vincent Scratch Nickname: Scratchie
Alias: Metal Hero: DJ-Craft
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Species: Quadrupedal Horse Mutant
Species Abilities: All over-ridden
Height: 4'2"
Weight: 480
Characteristics: That fucking hair! It's so bright and blue it really stands out... even more than being a horse sometimes!
Appearance: He's a bit tall compared to what one might expect, and a little too feminine for a stallion, but otherwise has pristine white fur, with a wild electric blue mane and tail, both long, messy, and frequently 'sonic swept'. His eyes are also Deep red, usually covered with a pair of thick purple shades, and quite frequently is seen with headphones on.
Personality: Have you ever heard of those sorts who can't 'not' enjoy life? or at least seem like it?
He's definitely one of those, if there's a party, he's gonna crash it, and if there isn't one, then he'll make one! He's wild and shameless, relishing anything he can make enjoyable, always trying to make others enjoy life too, he's hardly ever seen in a bad mood.
He's the sort who has a permanent grin plastered to his face, eager, boisterous, playful, easily excited, roiling with hype!... Be careful if the smile disappears...
Biography: Oddly enough, despite his wild and shameless disposition, he hasn't spoken of his origins, and research by the school hasn't shown him going to any long-term 'home' so much as finding a club or hotel somewhere, anywhere, though he has left a vague trail from the west... It's unclear what the circumstances are that encourage this, or what motivated him to seek NYBU as a more permanent residence... He even received a recommendation from one of the top heroes... on the other side of the nation, one that he seems to refuse to acknowledge.
Skills: Hobo-Life!: Okay, not really a hobo, he actually seems to always have money for whatever he needs, yet prefers to live as if he's poor when it comes to such things, cooking for himself, buying cheap food, renting cheap hotels or crashing in someone's den, even on the street if he feels like it, or in a club... Suffice to say, this combined a variety of things in mild levels, street-wise, cooking skills, brawling, and so on.
THE BEAT!: He's seemingly made a living in the last year or so by booking himself at any club he comes across, and bringing the place down with music so intense that most visitors have to stumble out by the time he's done... He's obsessed with music, especially 'powerful' music, and has spent his young life practicing!
Weaknesses: Well... he's probably not particularly palatable to anyone who possesses social standards is he?... He also gets just a little... 'just a little', salty when he hears ignorant 'drugged up failure' stereotypes, or any kind of 'holier than thou' attitudes.
Equipment: He's actually loaded down with a backpack full of speakers and other electrical equipment... though he probably wouldn't carry it into a fight, right?"
He actually keeps small, quirk made, speakers embedded inside each hoof, charged passively and ready to release a sudden burst of sound and force, just for emergencies, though they hold relatively little charge and take a while to recover regardless.
Quirk: Junkie Constructor!
First of all, Vinyl's body seems to produce what is essentially a literal 'electronic magnetic' field, which rather than 'disrupting' electronics, attracts them quite literally... That is to say: any object with electricity in it can be adhered to his body, as well as manipulated within a range of roughly five feet. His body's natural electromagnetic field also seems to have notably more 'electro' to it, though a harmlessly minuscule amount of voltage, it gives him a permanent static effect and seems to directly interact with electronic devices near him, and allows him to slowly charge them. He can charge as much as he has energy stored in his body, which is literal, as in from eating and digesting normal food, or other energy sources. His horn also seems to behave like an antenna for this field, producing stronger and more precise control nearer to his head, as well as being the only point on his body capable of producing enough electricity to have a tazer like effect.
This is important to open with, as his quirk actually allows him to devour almost anything he can fit in his mouth, and process it into raw materials that he can 'rebuild' by excreting the material from certain parts of his body, currently only his hooves and mouth though.
This allows him to rebuild it into electrical equipment, or just highly conductive materials, and adhere those to his body, or control them within a short distance from his head.
Non-metals are just as edible, though 'why' would be a better question at that point. Many materials aren't very useful for his quirk though, and become waste...
The 'quality' of the object is directly proportional to how fast he makes it, and it's complexity. Single use scrapped together items can be whipped up in seconds, but aren't going to be much help in the long-run. More durable and lasting items can be constructed with time to focus on it. This quirk can also be used in tandem with actual tinkering efforts to accelerate construction.
He commonly uses it for hastily constructed armor that he adheres to himself with a minimal current running through it. In order to produce a 'dangerous' effect with his quirk's electrical properties he must 'make' something that will store and and release it in larger volumes than his body can, though he tends to favor creating other devices that he can power to produce effects.
Wood, and non-conductive materials can disrupt or even block his electronic influence Water doesn't cripple him, but it does disrupt the accuracy of his electronic influence, making it next to impossible to do more than adhere it anymore.
He has a huge metabolic necessity that raises and falls dependent on how many devices he's charging.
If he eats something that's disruptive to electric currents by nature, it will seriously disrupt his ability to control any of his constructed electronics until it's removed... often through violent regurgitation.
His body on it's own cannot release enough electrical energy without something external helping to 'draw' it into a more destructive volume of energy, so without time to construct something, or pre-made gadgets, he can do little more than shine aggressively and use the strength of a trained quadruped when it comes to a fight... and bite, really hard, yes.
That minor electric field actually gives him a permanent 'static' effect to his hair, making his hair behave as if under-water to a degree.
The static effect 'will' spread to others that he touches for too long.
His teeth are sharp, and appear to be made of an unknown type of metal.
Base CS Skeleton: Name: William Donovan Gaster Nickname: Doc, Gassy, The Handy Man
Alias: Boney Hand Hero: Doctor Gaster
Age: Unknown, presumed to be in his 50's
Gender: Unclear, but likely male
Species: ... Something? Certainly not Human anymore
Height: Varies, Usually maintains even 7 Feet tall, but size changes on occasion.
Weight: About 30 pounds... believe it or not.
Characteristics: Tall, freakishly flexible, strange smooth skull face, hands always have holes in them.
Appearance: Doctor Gaster is an unusually tall and slender figure, though his 'hero' costume is usually a highly obscuring cloak, He frequently is seen off duty in simple house-wear, such as a turtle neck and khaki's, or dress suits... he likes snappy wear when dressed casually.
His most prominent and ever visible feature is his head, smooth, perfectly white, with large black eye-sockets that feature glows within for his eyes that change color, and a mouth that defies the usual limits of shape. There is also a crack down the right side of his head that stops precisely over his right-eye.
Personality: Personality is difficult to define with someone that you can't even understand most of the time, but he is a very smily sort, and even manages to not make it a creepy smile most of the time. He's actually 'very' talkative, despite his natural speech capability being unintelligible noises to human ears, when he stops to focus he 'is' able, and willing, to manage normal human speak.
It's unclear what kind of 'person' he is due to difficulties communicating in sufficient manner, but his actions have thus far remained those of a hero, a Scientist, and a Teacher.
Biography: To say that little is known about his past would be over-estimating things, never-minding that he can't accurately communicate it to most people, beyond the last decade of his tenure at NYBU, his very nature has made him incredibly difficult to track beyond 'sightings' when he lets himself be obvious, including hero activities and... shopping.
Skills: Once more, Little is known for certain about what skills he has, but several displays of experience have shone over the years.
Experienced Scientist and Surgeon: Doctor Gaster, aside from being a skillful scientist, is well known to be an experienced surgeon as well, able to use his many hands with remarkable precision even while operating dozens at a time... He's not the one you call for small illnesses though, only for serious surgical emergencies, of which he has shown incredible ability to bring under-control... This experience can also make him incredible deadly to any being with even vaguely natural biology...
Omni-Linguist: Ironic, considering his difficulty in communicating naturally, But he knows quite literally every human language in the world, perhaps not perfectly, but well enough to understand and 'attempt' to communicate with enough focus to form the words... even more strangely, he knows several computer programming languages, and his own 'natural' language is often considered to be 'speaking in wingdings' or 'internet speech'
Weaknesses: Nobody quite knows how to deal with him with certainty, though some have managed to run him off in the past, There didn't seem to be a clear pattern as to 'why' it worked, though running theories include losing too many hands, his head being threatened, getting tired or bored, and deciding that someone else needed his intervention more.
Equipment: He isn't known to use any specific permanent hero equipment, but does tend to shape his hands into tools in the moment.
Quirk: Non-Euclidean Hands
Doctor Gaster is capable of producing an unknown number of hands that are not attached to his body. He can control these hands freely with his mind, and warp their shape to suit his needs.
They seem to be made of a malleable bone-like material, though it is stronger than any natural bone, it is also more pliable and does not appear to be able to regenerate once broken, though their mass can be salvaged.
These hands are commonly based on a skeleton's hand, except that the palm is solid like a normal hand, with a large hole in it's center. The finger bones can be manipulated around this core in unnatural ways.
These boney constructs can be forcibly molded into unnatural shapes for various purposes, but once done so, they cannot be unmolded and must be discarded if broken. These vary from mashing them into a sharper, and deadlier, shape like a blade, to forming strange skull-constructs that project attacks from an unknown energy source that seems to be related to the cores of his hands. This energy is theorized to be projected around the cores themselves, and is responsible for their durability and defensive properties, though it takes a tremendous gathering of it in order to project it as a ranged weapon.
The hands 'can' interact with eachother in 'hand-like manners' to form new shapes and simply 'let go' to separate, such as a handy whip or a staff.
The cores themselves cannot be molded into new shapes, and always contain the hole in their center, only the fingers can be molded freely, and seem to require the cores to be intact in order to manipulate them.
He has been incredibly thorough about concealing the weaknesses of his quirk, though theories abound, none have been able to be tested and proven yet... but who would ever 'ask' someone like him to let them test his weaknesses?!
He regularly combines 'hand-sign' speech, with 'wing-ding' hand speech, with 'alphabet' hand speech, with verbal speech when trying to communicate, as if covering many bases
He enjoys people's creeped out reactions to his quirk
When speaking 'with his hands' sounds are still produced resembling what he is trying to say, though it has a tendency to sound like a cross between words, Dial-up, and sounds that don't belong in a human ear!
Some have theorized that his entire body is made of hands, hence his unnatural movements and flexibility at times.
Base CS Skeleton: Name: Rampage

Occupation: Martial Training Teacher at NYBU, Assistant Quirk Training Teacher at NYBU
Age: 150~, looks roughly 20 or so.
Gender: Male, usually...
Species: Pony... or something.
Species Abilities: Though much of the more fantastical extents have been over-ridden, a common pony is still faster, sturdier and stronger than an average human, with an unusual propensity for nature or 'hands-on' skill-sets, such as cooking, construction, and so on... speaking of which, they've still maintained that weird thing that goes on that lets them grab things with their hooves, how the fuck?!
Height: Usually about 4'5", but closer to 10' on hind legs. [Quadrupeds are longer than they are tall, so they reach pretty high when 'standing up' XD]
Weight: Estimated at 600~, Density brings it around 1500~
Characteristics: Very, fluffy, and very red, mane and tail, and the red stripes... oh, and the sharp teeth!
Appearance: He is unusually tall for a 'pony', with pristine white fur, red stripes, and similarly red mane and tail, and hot-pink eyes. He's well muscled for a pony, and has a tendency to move and stand as if ready for a fight at any moment.
Personality: to call him a wild-stallion would be an understatement, He's well known to have been a former 'villain', though he behaved more like a rogue rather than actually forming allegiance with anyone. He was always eager to brutally disable any who picked a fight with him, hero or villain, or just generally annoyed him enough and pissed him off, but remarkably has no actually fatal counts on his record of hero fights.
He's typically care-free and teasing on standard, but when a fight starts it seems like a switch was flipped, going straight for a style of madness that seems more befitting of a rabid animal, yet the trained eye can pick out the skill, control, and planning in each movement, not to mention full abuse of his unnatural regenerative abilities.
It was more recently that he seemed to have just... mellowed out one day... There's no particularly clear reason as to why, nevermind how he managed to get himself employed as a bloody teacher!
Biography: Many of the actual details of his past are unknown, seemingly random violence, or merely uninteresting...
What is known, is that he is a former rogue, uncaring of law, morality, or decency, doing as he pleased, when he pleased, where he pleased, to whomever he pleased, villain, hero, or innocent, often involving violence for the sake of entertainment.
He was known to have fought nearly every hero and villain in the nation in the last century, at some point or another, those that lived and were active in the era at least, yet often ignored 'prey' that couldn't fight back.
It was generally assumed that he wasn't so much 'evil', as just... acting... doing whatever he desired in the moment, sometimes resulting good, sometimes in evil, without a care for the opinions of others or of society.
Yet one day he seemed to just... change, presenting himself for capture and, unbelievably, negotiating his way into 'productive service'... He is 'technically' a prisoner of the hero system, under the direct jurisdiction of the NYBU teacher's board, officially, yet for years now has been tolerated as a loose cannon of a teacher, yet a valuable asset for combat training the next generation... and... bafflingly responsible, even if he never seems like it...
Skills: Experience: Though never officially schooled, she still has the experience of a long-life, one deep in the criminal under-world usually, and rife with combat.
Madness: Most might not consider it a benefit, but when paired with his quirk, it's much more effective to be a little mad... or at least, that's been the case in the past!
Street Fighting+observed style: Rampage has been at it for a long time, fist-to facing villains and heroes alike over the years, but it's always been 'just for fun', she's never recieved any official training, but has learned some things through observation and experience.
Covered Wild-Pony: Whether it's at a party, or in a street fight, Rampage doesn't half-ass her attitude, it's a party no matter what the occasion, and he always seems to be wild and unhinged, but history has proven that every movement is made calculated and deliberate, they might not be 'good' moves, but judging by his wild appearance may be the lat thing you do.
Immense Willpower: Though somewhat stemming his particular brand of madness, he is mentally much stronger and better conditioned than most would assume from his behavior. This helps him tremendously against mental influences, though does not render him outright immune.
Weaknesses: No Survival Instinct: Some people joke about darwinism awards, or about someone lacking survival instinct... In Rampage's case, this is literal. Being literally immortal, as far as he knows, for so long has all but destroyed his sense of self preservation... who cares if you get an injury, or lose a limb, or get crushed, when you know you'll just regenerate?
Untrained and Uneducated: Most students will have at least had 'some' official training and education during their school life, while rampage has never actually 'been' in a school... well, not as one it's students at least. Though his origins are muddied, he learned everything he needed over time through experience.
Socially Inexperienced: Suffice to say, Polite social interaction has never been something he was interested in... For most of his life 'polite' was interpreted as 'Not knocking your teeth out', who gives a shit about what 'words' someone uses?!
Equipment:
Smooth, Segmented, Steel Alloy, Armored Suit: Despite his mind numbing ability to regenerate, he 'was' often seen, or heard of, in a rough-shod, junked together armored suit, often covered in spikes or barbed wire.
Suffice to say, this is not permitted in a school environment, they're training students, not trying to kill them... Hence the provision of an officially crafted armored suit without a single sharp edge to it!
It coveres him from hoof to tail to nose in smooth, curved, Steel armor, segmented precisely to minimize lost agility, as well as to adapt 'partially' to his occasinal changing proportions.
Red, Black accent, body-suit: Mostly just serves the purpose of with-standing Rampage's... well, rampaging, and preventing the armor from chaffing... What? Just because he can't regrow whole limbs as casually as skin-cells, doesn't mean he likes' annoyingly consistent pains.
Quirk: Immortal Regenerative Core
Rampage can regenerate from quite literally any form or amount of physical damage He can even regenerate from complete vaporization, though this exposed his core His heart has been morphed into a gem-like construct that has proven to be immensely durable This is the source of his regeneration, from which his body can rebuild itself Everything that he consumes and digests becomes energy for his core, which in-turn fuels his body. He can process energy for his core from anything biological in nature, and some natural non-biological sources of energy. His immense regenerative potential has allowed him to undergo and survive training that could've killed others in order to strengthen his body. It also prevents him aging naturally due to the constant regeneration of aged cells This in-turn can protect his body from disease and sickness by simply replacing infected cells.
The constant regeneration of aged cells leads to him having a hugely increased metabolism This high metabolism also means he must eat more to maintain his body's requirements to function
Regeneration also requires a proportional amount of energy to regenerate damage done
Continuous regeneration will cause his body to regenerate in a younger and younger state, until stuck temporarily in the body of a child [when his quirk first manifested] He must over-eat immensely, or spend a long time waiting to 're-age', roughly a day, or large meal, per year.
Occasionally, when forced to fully regenerate, he may end up regenerating as the other gender...
we are XD feel free to hop into the discord, the link should still have a good few charges in it XD You appeared just intime too, I'm just now heading to bed ;3
[Application Note: Currently we have more than enough people, but you can still apply and I'll keep track of you, either incase someone backs out, has to leave, or maybe even if you just manage to impress me with your character :D]
Discord Link: Not making a new one just yet, i just want a spot for it incase I do!
The basic premise is simple! This is an Alternate Universe kind of setup, based on My Hero academia, and taking place in America instead of in Japan, canon characters from the anime may or may not appear, or at least be mentioned, but overall nearly all characters will be OCs.
This will take place in a constructed Island campus off the coast of New York City, a massive island comparable to Manhatten Island itself, comprised of both a Well known Hero training High School, Quirk specializing College, and the vast array and size of facilities that they both use for their various activities!
We will generally be first-year students, though you can be let in on recommendations, Starting with gathering for our entrance exam, meeting eachother a little, and beginning our wonderous school year!... and no, it won't be a flat copy of U.A.'s Entrance exam ;P
The actual fundamental twist of this world is that it wasn't just earth as we known is used for the base of the setting, But the sort with various presumed fictional creatures living in hiding, seclusion, outside of human civilization entirely, or right under their noses in disguise... until the advent of quirks affected 'them' too.
I has been nearly Five hundred years since the emergence of Quirks, and by extension the destruction of secrecy among many creatures that had until then gone unnoticed amidst humanity. Five hundred years since war broke out, over control of the quirked, over purging the mutants, the blasphemous abominations against one's god or another, over fear and paranoia, distrust, reaction, panic, survival... so many reasons, and all long extinguished...
Relative peace was established after a period of tremendous turmoil, the violence was incalculable, the very geography of the world was changed in some places from quirks used for war, but what became called 'War of Quirks' came to a close along with the extermination of many of the world's greatest threats from the last era, and with the rise of the heroes that broke them, Though much data was lost in the chaos.
Over the centuries, a new problem became known, though one that had a tendency to act as a uniting factor between the people's of the world, especially as the prevalence of quirked rose higher over the centuries, surprisingly quickly wiping away the stigmatization of quirks against quirkless... But now...
Villains.
Once the war had ended and civilization restored to working order, many natural challenges of society returned, only now with quirks involved, criminals with or without quirks became a growing problem, especially as those uniquely capable of organizing them rose in power and influence, though heroes eternally fought back, disrupting their efforts around the world, It kept a certain... spice, on the world, as unfortunate as it was that it prevented permanent peace from being achieved, it kept things interesting.
Then came the rise of the top-tier heroes, the sort with power enough to level cities and, thanking all that is good and righteous, an intense ideal for peace and justice. Great heroes like All-might and Endeavor, names known world-wide for their achievements, yet there are so many more out there that are not quite as incalculably popular, yet no less responsible for the peace that their home regions have experienced in the 2500's.
As we all know, with the rise of heroes, came the rise institutions that trained new ones... but different nations faced this differently.
New York Bay University
One of the most prestigious and successful hero Campus' in the United States, all of North America even... debateably at least, everyone likes to believe their's is the best, but statistically NYBU has produced the most of America's most successful heroes and Trainees for Quirked Organizations.
It's built on the remains of Long-Island off the shore of the Rebuilt New-york City, expanded through the power of quirks and modern engineering to be nearly 50 miles wide and 100 long, as well as even more extended into the bay south of the city where the university began, all reinforced and rebuilt to with-stand the unrestrained training of heroes, military, and other potentially destructive quirk users, The massive campus allowing them to operate at full capacity without endangering any other civilized areas.
Many know of the university's massive scale, as well as it's appearance, but you... What 'you' see now is the looming walls that reach from shore to shore and all around the man-made portion of the Campus, the single bridge leading into the university's southern portion, 'University Way', Where younglings and new heroes combine both mundane and quirk education to build the most vital foundation for their surely incredible futures!
It is an imposing sight, Looming as high as smaller sky-scrapers, intimidatingly massive even from the other end of that bridge, where the university's admission's building is... that is to say, the former brighton beach converted into a testing ground for the Entrance exams, and all around you are the other hopefuls seeking entry into the hero most prestigious hero courses!
I'll keep this short... 'any' quirk is possible, so long as it followed the basic rules of Quirks! It is biological in origin, that is to say, it's your body, not some magical force that you wield with no limits. It is balanced... I will allow even the most extreme quirks [short of literal city one-shotting], so long as you can convince me that it has been balanced sufficiently and won't break the game! You don't have to make that balancing public if you don't want to! It can make at least a tiny amount of sense XD By which I mean, for instance, no spontaneously constructing fantasy gundams with 'cuts all things' laser swords and city evaporating particle beams... as a severely extreme example. XD bokunoheroacademia.fandom.com/wiki/Quirk
This is honestly just a really simplified summary of to make it simple for people to know how to categorize their quirks, the actual wiki has far more information about specific types.
Emitter - An Emitter Quirk quite simply affects something outside of your body as it's primary function.
Transformation - Transormation Quirks alter your body in some way as it's primary function.
Mutation - Mutation Quirks permanently alter your body in some way, it may be small or large in effect, but it is generally a permanent change that has some kind of power to go with it.
Accumulation - Quite simply, an Accumulation quirk is one that requires... well, 'accumulation' of something before it can be wielded at it's full power.
Woops! discord.gg/Qy3wN6t That last link was a 1 day, I updated this one to be permanent, but have limited uses [don't worry, it's enough for everyone here and then some XD just didn't wanna make it permanent and forget about it, then leave it for some raider to notice XD]
that's technically already done XD discord.gg/C22BCC I just haven't added the channels yet, but everyone can certainly chat it up, i'll just expand it tommorrow while i'm working on things :D
