When you go from walking around at 5am like a half shut knife to bouncing out your bed 10 minutes before the alarm goes off within a month of early starts at work. Self-improvement, ho!

Celebrating the one-month anniversary of my RP starting! 135 IC posts already and still growing. Also still accepting players, so hop on over if you are interested in gritty superheroes. All welcome!

How to know when your day as a home shopper will be busy - when your boss can't be arsed counting all the orders to pick so he logs the official total as 'mental' :-P

Best feelings as a GM #1 - Sitting at work cackling because a player has literally set up an amazing plot hook without realising it. *evil chuckle*

Bio

Well, where to begin?

I found my love of roleplays through a brief block of sessions of D&D when I screwed up enough and brought an class from an entirely different plane to join the main party. After following the plot to the end - which involved our dwarven pilot flying a gunship while simultaneously controlling 4 cannons by tying string around them - we ended up crashing through a portal onto a different plane. When attempting to formulate a plan, one of the PCs delivered a line that has stayed with me ever since.

"Ask the artificer, he's already done it once."

Since then, I've done a 3+ year RP between two players - using the FATE system - in which we created an entire city through creating mentally unstable characters and callus cold-blooded killers. One particularly nasty NPC came about by a sheer accident, when the melee-build character out-snarked the diplomat. Which was much more fun than it sounds. Had a bad experience with this site before, in which the GM didn't plan far enough ahead to include any NPCs whatsoever, and the other characters had no interest in Player-to-Player interactions outside of their own 2-man group. Needless to say, it died with incredible speed, which was a shame.

But I was tempted back by a friend to play a Pokemon RP despite having no knowledge whatsoever of the topic outside of Gen 1 stuff, and even that was years ago. Despite everything, I've not only been holding my own, but coming up with a completely separate sub-plot from the main plot, and making the GM's life a misery. (Sorry Zan!)

My writing style draws heavily from the likes of Worm and The Dresden Files, which means I can do a great deal of two things. Snark and Escalation. Outside of that, I like to think i'm a dynamic roleplayer, but I prefer sticking to High Fantasy sort of settings. Anything Slice of Life-y doesn't do it for me. Unless i'm slinging magic, psuedo-magic or demons (while snarking at whoever is unlucky enough to warrant it) I feel as though I could be doing something more entertaining with my time. When it comes to RP systems, I enjoy FATE or narrative based things.

My first RP which I am GMing on this site is themed around Dragon Age as carried on from the far superior (in my humble opinion) plot of the first game.

That's pretty much all there is to know about me that people would actually care about. I'll update it as I do with important changes or epic moments. Until then, feel free to PM me if you have questions or invites to stuff, and i'll respond as soon as I can. ^.^

@Old AmsterdamJust here, I'll keep track of each vote on the 0th post thing.
Disclaimer before writing my next post. Brockton Bay's location in the real world is never mentioned. However, I am relatively certain that they asked for help from Boston during the Endbringer attack nearby, so my headcanon says the two are close.

Also, after the battle has concluded, I plan to write the first Interlude-style backstory reveal for one of the characters. Each player gets a vote as to which one I do, the one with the highest votes wins =P
@MigyudonI really, really, really like this power. Few things, though. The power rating is Trump. Trump powers directly interact with other powers, which is what I believe your power does. Then you'd have sub ratings for the powers you've nicked off other capes. I will freely allow you to come up with other abilities for you to use - and even allow you to bet for other powers over the course of the story if you wish - providing an equally epic outcome would be achieved whether you win or lose.

Next point - as pointed out, Gods don't exist. However, if you wanted to use that trigger event(which I happen to really like) there is nothing stopping you changing it to make it clear that your character viewed the bet as being with a God, rather than a fat cat money lender or whatever it actually was. Alternatively, Cauldron might be a good thing for you because Cauldron powers have a chance of going completely wrong. Whenever you drink a vial of liquid to gain powers that way there is a chance you're entire body, or a part of it at least, will become completely alien to yourself, like Anon's no-facey-ness. I'll let you think that over, and if you need any further help, let me know. Otherwise, the character is looking pretty bloody good.

@PlatinumSkinkYour communicator can be literally anything, that's why I left it vague. Your choice. be it an earpiece, a little phone, etc, etc. Standard issue for Protectorate and PRT operatives for HQ to get in touch. Also, your actually fighting Sickle-Cell now. I did not anticipate this outcome.

Shit.

Clockblocker never froze time, he froze people. It might not change the colour of the air - but having it not do so would make it much, much more powerful. It would mean people wouldn't automatically know the frozen time was there, but having it chance the colour of the air gives you a totally different way to narrate using it rather than constantly ;she used her power' which is always nice. I'll leave it ultimately up to you, but personally, i'm quite fond of the blue-y tint. ^.^

@knifemanAwesome. Will grab one under each arm and leg it. Only half joking =P

Be ready for the IC post of a lifetime later tonight =P
Poohead is pulling out due to NaNoWriMo - entirely understandable. I'll narrate Iron Fist leaving the battle in my IC post later today.

@knifeman, have you put any thought into whether Mandy and Holly are joining Vegas when she runs?
@ProProTrue.

But still creepy =P

I have to go get ready for work, so I'll be on throughout tomorrow. Will be posting by this time tomorrow, though, and i'll try remember to cover all bases when I do. I still can't believe how quickly the IC has shot up =P
@ProProThat is a good point. I had completely forgotten all about that. I shall take over the puppeteering of both in my next IC posts tomorrow night. We might finally be able to see what Anon actually does when he's not creeping on randoms =P
Took a little longer to retool into a cs that I thought, but it's done. Although, I'll confess I haven't proofread it yet. Won't be able to respond till sometime tomorrow, since I need to go get ready for work.

And don't worry, the Semblance isn't nearly as OP as it actually sounds at first glance - hence the hefty explaination =P

I reckon i'll hold off posting till tomorrow. Nothing major has happened yet that I need to respond to - The Circus will be starting to prepare in two IC post's time, my healer will never speak first with Replicant there, the fight hasn't moved on and I don't feel like stealing Ifrit's blood-borne WMD yet.

As such, the only thing I'd really be doing is speaking to Automaton.

Plus I might have spent more tiime that I realised filling out a CS for another roleplay but that is entirely besides the point, I assure you =P

Even if nothing more happens, I'll still post tomorrow, just wanna give it another day in the hope someone at least takes a potshot at someone else to give me a reason to break out some more epic =P
Cs is half done, will post later.
