When you go from walking around at 5am like a half shut knife to bouncing out your bed 10 minutes before the alarm goes off within a month of early starts at work. Self-improvement, ho!

Celebrating the one-month anniversary of my RP starting! 135 IC posts already and still growing. Also still accepting players, so hop on over if you are interested in gritty superheroes. All welcome!

How to know when your day as a home shopper will be busy - when your boss can't be arsed counting all the orders to pick so he logs the official total as 'mental' :-P

Best feelings as a GM #1 - Sitting at work cackling because a player has literally set up an amazing plot hook without realising it. *evil chuckle*

Bio

Well, where to begin?

I found my love of roleplays through a brief block of sessions of D&D when I screwed up enough and brought an class from an entirely different plane to join the main party. After following the plot to the end - which involved our dwarven pilot flying a gunship while simultaneously controlling 4 cannons by tying string around them - we ended up crashing through a portal onto a different plane. When attempting to formulate a plan, one of the PCs delivered a line that has stayed with me ever since.

"Ask the artificer, he's already done it once."

Since then, I've done a 3+ year RP between two players - using the FATE system - in which we created an entire city through creating mentally unstable characters and callus cold-blooded killers. One particularly nasty NPC came about by a sheer accident, when the melee-build character out-snarked the diplomat. Which was much more fun than it sounds. Had a bad experience with this site before, in which the GM didn't plan far enough ahead to include any NPCs whatsoever, and the other characters had no interest in Player-to-Player interactions outside of their own 2-man group. Needless to say, it died with incredible speed, which was a shame.

But I was tempted back by a friend to play a Pokemon RP despite having no knowledge whatsoever of the topic outside of Gen 1 stuff, and even that was years ago. Despite everything, I've not only been holding my own, but coming up with a completely separate sub-plot from the main plot, and making the GM's life a misery. (Sorry Zan!)

My writing style draws heavily from the likes of Worm and The Dresden Files, which means I can do a great deal of two things. Snark and Escalation. Outside of that, I like to think i'm a dynamic roleplayer, but I prefer sticking to High Fantasy sort of settings. Anything Slice of Life-y doesn't do it for me. Unless i'm slinging magic, psuedo-magic or demons (while snarking at whoever is unlucky enough to warrant it) I feel as though I could be doing something more entertaining with my time. When it comes to RP systems, I enjoy FATE or narrative based things.

My first RP which I am GMing on this site is themed around Dragon Age as carried on from the far superior (in my humble opinion) plot of the first game.

That's pretty much all there is to know about me that people would actually care about. I'll update it as I do with important changes or epic moments. Until then, feel free to PM me if you have questions or invites to stuff, and i'll respond as soon as I can. ^.^

Well, this is gonna be one hell of an RP then, chukkle xD

One more character to make, and i'll post the bio later, after than, once everything is sorted, we can make the move

Bahahahah, two secs, my curtains have fallen down
@Ursa, that is true, although i legitimately did not see the abundance of cop characters before mine, otherwise i might've gone down a different route =P
Meh, at least my story does make sense
Choo Choo
I saw that when i looked up the layout for Marionettes too, i notice all this *after*. I need to learn to read =P

Making a Marionette myself, simply because playing a villain is just too sweet.
Literally just read your master's bio. Had a different idea at the start, a friend and I decided to mix his story up a bit and to tie it in wit the murders, and what better way than with the police? =P

Oh god, Melody sounds bloody perfect, the two conflict so damn well.
Doll Master:

Name: Carson Ingram
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Appearance: http://images4.fanpop.com/image/photos/18200000/Ginpachi-Sensei-gintama-18230724-867-870.jpg"Now, let's see just how far this rabbit hole goes"/url]

Personality: Caring and headstrong at his core, Carson is the type of person who finds it impossible to sit back while the weak suffer. A hot-blooded hero, he will push himself over the edge in order to protect people, often suffering injuries in the process. There is little that scares him, as he has seen a fair amount of grisly scenes during his time. He works well under pressure, managing to do a substantial amount in short spaces of time, despite his tendencies to over-exert himself. He is a grounded individual, and very easy to get along with, making friends wherever he goes.

Backstory: From a very young age, Carson wanted to be a police officer. The older he grew, the more concerned he became about the injustice in the world, and so, he trained to achieve his dream. A full police officer at the age of 25, he dealt with his fair share of crimes, from the small thefts to the mass murders. Recently, however, there has been a string of murders that has caught his attention. Hardly any traces, and the few that remain are unlike anything he has ever seen before. The days roll by, and the murders pile up. Carson is furious with himself that he cannot find anything to go on, the stress and frustration building as he slowly loses faith in himself. In the midst of this concoction of emotions, he is sought out by a doll. Now, with the red pill forced down his throat, he finally has the chance to help these people, and balance some of the injustice he hates so much.

Skills: As a police officer, Carson is physically fit and intelligent, and has training in all of the usual police areas.

Here is my Doll Master. Sorry for any mistakes, my lack of sleep is catching up to me =P
Also planning to throw up a bio for a Puppeteer tomorrow, got a good idea for a power, and it'd be a shame to waste it.
After reading through some of the other Doll bios, i can't help but imagine just how amazing a fight between Sickle-Cell and Sango could be =P
Much Appreciated, Vita.

I'll throw up the idea for my Doll Master later on today.
Hahahah, don't worry, Vita. I named my user after my most used character. He isn't able to drain someone's blood to kill them like that, that would be slightly overpowered xD
He can only siphon small amounts of blood around a person's injury, as in, blood that is close to the surface. The main source of blood he uses will be external pools of blood, either from his, or his opponent's flesh wounds. He won't be going around taking 8 pints of someone's blood then leaving them in a ditch, so you don't need to worry about that.
Ok, here is my Doll. I'll stick my Master up tomorrow.

Name: Sickle-Cell
Gender: Male
Appearance: “There’s so much more I want to learn about your mind.”

Personality: “The passive and helpless will be ruled by their fate. Those rare few who seize the reins shall be rewarded with dominion over their lives.”

Governed by the desire to investigate the human mind, and find out what makes them tick, based around his paranoia of a fleeting existence, and the constant reminder that he can only interact with this world because of his Doll Master. He believes deep down, that if he can solve the riddle of humanity, he can remain in control and make sure absolutely nothing goes against his plan. This compulsion affects him so much, that he doesn't see human beings as real, but rather pieces of a puzzle created by his own mind for him to solve, though he is reluctant to admit this. A main goal for him is 'collecting' as many interesting people as he can, whose ideals and intellect may be able to prove most beneficial in his overall plan. He deliberately goads and pushes the buttons of those around him in order to experience their reactions in much the same way that a scientist would probe insects with a needle. Shows little in the way of sympathy for those he 'damages' with these experiments, although may alter the level at which he pushes them in future, more to ensure further usage, than out of empathy.

He acts as a self-appointed prophet in regards to how he perceives the world, and hopes to spread his ideal to others, while searching for the self-understanding which is required in order to take leadership of his own life. On the times he offers assistance, it is in accordance with his own views, but he often veils his amoral suggestions with benefiting situations, making people more likely to succumb his guidance. He is spontaneous when it comes to decision-making, often abandoning human 'subjects' he deems are unable to provide any useful insight to his goals, or dropping a plan halfway through completion in favor of one more valuable. As reflected by his entire mindset, he values self-preservation over all else, and will not place himself in situations where he is in danger of long-term harm, and acts to swiftly rid himself of threats, rather than leave events to fate, luck or chance.

Abilities: Haemokinesis.

Sickle-Cell is able to manipulate and sense the presence of nearby blood, using it both as a weapon and as a tool for tracing his opponents.
While the effective range of his power in combat is roughly 15 meters (with the ability to fire projectiles outside of that range which pass outside of his control), he is able to detect and track the location of blood within roughly 50 meters of his body.
Forms a variety of blades, shields and projectiles from blood that has been previously shed, favouring thin layers of exceptionally sharp and dense material.
Although he is unable to manipulate the internal blood supply of other organisms (whether to prolong or to dispose of another’s life), he can siphon blood from exposed cuts through physical contact, typically cutting small flesh wounds across the back of his hand as his initial source of blood in a conflict.
While his range is extremely restricted during the start of a fight (as any blood that he throws as a projectile passes outside of his effective range), he becomes increasingly more dangerous during prolonged fights that allow him to form multiple whip-like tendrils of blood at once.
Unable to cause significant harm to other Dolls and Marionettes during the early stages of a fight other than causing surface-level wounds - uses the blood shed through this process to expand his arsenal and eventually craft guillotine blades and other similar constructs sufficiently large and powerful enough to cause lasting injuries.
Suffers from the typical signs of blood loss when forced to siphon his own blood too extensively (as he cannot absorb it back into his body), forcing him to exploit the blood of other combatants to as great an extent as possible.

Forgot to add, Sickle-Cell would be the partner of Ardent Dawn's Doll Master, Donovan Ross.
