As someone who once unironically used grey-on-black text .... don't. Its impossible to read on OLED screens, which include most modern phones.

Sometimes I feel like this site is a Thai buffet. I'm sure there's delicious things here, but for the life of my I can't find anything that really speaks to me right now.

When not prepping for my D&D table, I should spruce up some of my stuff here. Not all of my old content is the garbage I presumed it was. But some things I wrote we won't talk about ....

Reflections on characters past: "Adi really was a spoiled brat. How did I ever think her motivations were compelling?"

Been wanting to take a quick rant in this thread. And today's my ranting day it seems.

Schools
Less that they're overdone, and more that they're consistently done in the same way over and over. To add to that, I've almost always viewed the default way as a poor way to do them. Of all the cliche templates one can use to create an RP (a top offender being standard tolkienesque fantasy), this one creates the smallest room for stories in my book. It doesn't offer the same degree of narrative freedom in the stories told, the characters it accepts, etc. It's actually quite frustrating because there's been one or two that looked like they had promise but the shortcomings inherent in the genre stifled that.
I'd tried to be in one of these before but it ended badly. I was not planning on reconsidering that position.

Buuuuuuut ... you came in here with Hidden Citizens and I am a sucker for that song.

I'll probably chip away at working out a new character. I would officially color me interested in a day or two when I drop a WIP version in here.
... uh why am I getting paged here? I do not remember any of what I just read at any point. If I said anything about this it was a long time ago by now.
I've been unable to keep myself focused long enough to even finish the prologue bits so far. That does not speak particularly well to getting an evaluable character sheet done.
I'm still looking for what route I would want to go with this. Provided I make a decision on that front (and someone mentions what relevant info is desired), sheets will be incoming.
Having tried the whole Rainbow 6 concept before to limited success ... I'm curious to see the approach you take with it.
@Letter Bee I chose to leave because I believe it is wrong for a GM to hold the past against individuals. This is a principle I hold myself to firmly whenever I am running an RP of my own. I have no knowledge of what transpired between you and Burning Kitty and have never had the intent of coming to that individual's defense. However, I observed unknown events of the past having a measurable impact on decisions of the present. I chose not to participate on that basis alone as I considered it a passive endorsement of the decision at the time. In my previous statements I even acknowledge that it would be hypocritical for me to hold those past occurrences against you and I still do not. If my wording in said previous statements was improper, I sincerely apologize. That was never my intent.

These are the facts to the best of my recollection, and I accept your decision.

Your statement on the matter appears to imply that your decision is conditional. I would like to know if that is a correct interpretation of your statement. I will preface that request by reiterating that my actions in the past were based on my personal beliefs which have not changed and I will not be apologizing for the events of the past.

As a closing matter, your post appears to imply that I endorse godmodding. This is not a fact. To this day I am unaware of what transpired between you and Burning Kitty and I cannot endorse that to which I am unaware. Further, as a GM I have never stood for such and anything else would be a flagrant disservice to my players, present and future. Again if I have misread your statement I sincerely apologize. However, in the interest of avoiding misinformation, I would like to request revision or clarification to avoid future misinterpretations by other readers.

Thank you.

EDIT (6:32 12/6)
I have become aware that you have blocked me from all posting within your thread. I am disappointed that you feel I would be so disrespectful as to attempt to disrupt and derail your RP thread. As a fellow GM I would never engage in something so despicable. Regardless, you are within your rights to do as you feel you must and I harbor no ill will.
I debated for a while on whether or not to give this another fair shake, but all my reasons for not doing so were actually hypocritical.

You've seen and approved my sheet before (same as last time). I can include the original for posterity but it is getting a continuity and modernization pass. That's to knock the dust off and update as necessary.
@Atrophy Much like down-to-earth reality, you eventually get far enough beyond the city area to find dense suburban areas and eventually you can find land that hasn't been developed over more than once already. However, Fortuna is massive so we're talking about having to travel 50+ miles before "street level" has an actual singular definition. What would be considered Fortuna's suburbs would be considered dense city by you or I today with buildings still reaching 6+ stories and a fair amount of overhead construction forming a landing level.
Case ... And ... Point ...
