Introduction
Throughout the ages, countless times, men and women have come forth inside a single ring to decide who is the superior combatant. Spanning from across the multiverse, fighters of all shapes and sizes have engaged in one on one combat spilling sweat and blood all for the sake of obtaining the glory of being deemed the number one champion. Six times has this struggle for domination taken place. And now, a whole new year has come, meaning a new champion needs to be crowned. Welcome to the Gaian Tenkaichi Budokai.

This is an ooc thread. Details will be posted here as they are updated, so for now, this is a discussion thread until things kick into gear. I will notify in the thread title when registration opens, which should be within a month. For what this tournament is, it is a 1v1 rp tournament, single elimination style that has been done since 2006. We encourage use of your canon characters for that will persist after the tournament. Power level will be low. Think Street Fighter/ King of Fighters, though exceptional supernatural power is allowed such as in Guilty Gear. As for prizes, there will be gift cards.

"So you are probably wondering who I am. My name is Midus Sonners Jr. My father, Midus Sonners Sr, was once the leader of the Gaian Tenkaichi Budokai, but due to heading off to the Gayan Crusades to assist the Grand Templar Trumpian, he won't be back for probably...guessing at least a year. In the meantime, I will take over in his stead.
For a little history of this tournament, the GTB started on Gaia in 2006. It is a realm vast with various cultures and people. The founder was a man named Clash, who originated from the FFA territorities where war and fighting was the way of life. He wanted to bring together everyone in the world to see who is truly the best fighter amongst them all. And so, the tournament was created with hundreds of people (characters) having joined to fight. One by one, the numbers dwindled further and further until a champion was finally chosen for GTB 1...at least, I wish I could say that there was a champion. Due to circumstances having involved the tournament lasting for over a year, eventually everyone just left.
BUT, someone came along and picked up the tournament. Someone who saw potential in its existence. His name was Midus Sonners. Taking the helm, granted by Clash, he has ran five annual GTBs, each to their conclusion. And now, I, his son, will continue the tradition with GTB VII. Whether I can live up to my father's legacy or not, only time will tell. One must step into the unknown if they wish to become the successor to the Sonners throne. Welcome!

This is a good ole fashion battle royale. Jump in, interact with Santa, fight Santa, fight each other, do whatever you want. This will go on until Jan 2nd. No character sheets required. The goal is to have a holly jolly holiday beatdown.
Ho, ho, ho! Santa has arrived to give gifts to all the nice boys and girls! And to beatdown all the naughty children on his list! Ho, Ho, Ho! Santa has come to town to deal out gifts and kick some ass. And he's all out of gifts! On this wintry Christmas eve, he disembarks from his sled to land into a suburban neighborhood where lights twinkle across rooftops and snow coats the houses in a beautiful scene of comfort and joy.

The centaur, however, sounds like using 2 PCs in one fight, naturally making things a 2v1. If it was a horse, it would feel more fair, but the fact it's a centaur, who has equipabble upper body with additional arms, makes that easily unbalanced from a fight standpoint.
Hiding your strats until the last second is the essence of mortal combat. So hiding profiles sounds natural to me, provided you have a third party who has them only.
