I usually go for orphaned, bad family situation or some terrible responsibility that keeps them from living their life freely. Once had a character that hit all three.

I wonder what I have against my characters, I never let them be happy... I really hope that doesn't have some deep psychological meaning.

Yeah, there was a fair amount of time in a rather large RPG where a lot of different people did variations on "How can I make life as miserable as possible for my characters." I guess I got tired of it.

I would assume it has some weapons for self defense but to be honest...it's a cruise ship. The good vibes alone are probably enough to make sure it stays safe most of the time.

I like playing characters without horrific mental scars or overwhelming quirks. Despite her being one of the most damaged characters I've ever done I'm still playing Beryl as a older sister/Mom type person.

On that subject I'm looking forward to her meeting Sangue. Older Sister meeting the kid learning how to be a person seems like it would be a fun interaction.

The young Faunus could not help but send a quizzical look after Luke as he left. He had been acting a bit strange there at the end after all. In any case, she needed to finish up here soon or she might just collapse before she even got back to her room.

A minute or two later and she had sent a moderately sized ball of water back into the pool with a plop. Taking a moment to pick up her MP3 player, she shot a glance through the large lounge window to check on her friend. Bianca was doing fine it seemed. The person next to her was still just talking and they both seemed relaxed enough.

Her worries allayed for the moment, Beryl made her way up to her room and barely had time to change into bedclothes before falling asleep curled up on the very expensive feeling bed.
