MALFUNCTION: A Painfully Realistic Superpower RP

I would be interested if there's still space. Jumping right into a high casual/low advanced RP like this seems intimidating, but I would like to play a character who perhaps has telepathy but at the cost of insanity, schizophrenia or hallucination-type issues. Perhaps that is in fact how his telepathy manifests itself in the form of terrifying images that drive him hysterical. I'm thinking along the lines of Minority Report's Precogs who are pretty much suffering from PTSD due to their visions. Something along those lines. I'm not sure how treatable or controllable such an issue or power would be but I think that's the point of this RP?

I would love to commit to this so I'm throwing in my interest. I really like both elements that you have come up with and I think it would make for a story that suits me. So I would like to register myself in for this. It's a good introduction and I can't wait to see it come to fruition.

I think it would be interesting with the time machine aspect to explore how much could really be changed. I wouldn't be averse to the possibility of a bad ending, or perhaps a pyyrhic victory type idea, where humanity is, instead of saved, still forced to go through the apocalypse but not as badly threatened with extinction, or some other kind of bleak outlook.

Of course, with the zombie thing being typically a plague I definitely think that the usual route for the end-game would be preventing the research of a cure for a disease or something along those lines. We'll have to see if that's what people decide on but I wonder if that would be considered too cliché for this story, and if we want to go for something different.

Arbitrary Introduction Title

Hello everyone here,

I'm a 24 year old, male writer and I've just finished university. As the last few years ate away at my time and energy my writing has fallen by the wayside and I feel severely behind and uninspired recently as far as writing my novels go, so I decided to try out a roleplay/writing forum to try and get the juices flowing and find my inspiration. I'm primarily looking for one-on-one and writing partners but I will probably try out writing in group settings while I'm here. As a writer I consider myself fairly skilled, particularly since I've spent the last four years refining my scientific writing toward getting my degree, but I just need to be inspired and creative again and hopefully this is the first step of many.

I will be seeking casual to advanced roleplay, perhaps even free roleplay. I mainly want to be prolific and do as much writing as possible here. My timezone is GMT+0, London/UK. I'm located typically within Scotland, so that will give you an idea of where I come from and my times I'll be likely online; probably in the evenings from 6pm onwards (as I write this, it is 22:25).

I'm inspired by thriller writings of all kinds; I'm very much into Jack Reacher, The Millenium Trilogy and typically anything thriller in genre. I like my stories with twists and turns and some fighting involved, nothing over-the-top however. I also would like to add elements of romance and chemistry to my characters, think Castle and Beckett style chemistry, if you've ever seen that TV show.

Video game wise, I'm heavily into PC gaming and console, but my money situation has prevented me from indulging the hobby unfortunately. So I'm into Subnautica, Diablo 3, Don't Starve, among others. Mostly indie games that work on a cheap PC while I save up for a more powerful next-gen machine. I'm also very much into movies. My favourite one right now is The Thing, and I love Jurassic Park, and for TV shows I really love the Arrowverse, mainly Arrow and Flash.

I don't seek to play fandoms however, mostly original characters in original, preferably modern settings.
