After thanking the crew and grabbing his belongings Johann strolled confidently down the gangway into the fray. Once out of the docks he leaned on a building and reread his orders he was to ascend the citadel and meet with his new CO, Captain Michael Philolakes, within the hour. Johann pushed himself back into the crowd and attempted to steer himself in the direction he wanted to go.

In his small pack he had some money, some assorted food he grabbed from the ships galley, blank paper, and a writing utensil.

Once he found his way into the Citadel, he strolled over to the CO's office but found a long line winding from the door. Johann gave a small smirk and got in line. Better to wait instead of becoming late, he was an officer now anyway. Once in line Johann attempted to keep himself entertained, by fixing his uniform into parade order, and fought the Impulse to fidget while he waited. After a few minutes, Johann forgot his rank and started making conversation to the men around him. He treated everyone equal, the men found that this Officer, was a quick thinker, and didn't act like Nobility, but how he stood gave it away to them. While in line Johann also focused on what he will say to the captain. First impressions were everything, especially with your CO.

Goals/Aspirations: Johann wants to return to his town, a veteran. To prove to his father that he is the best choice as an heir.

Personality: Johann is a perfect example of a gentleman. He is respectable and lives up to his promises. One might describe him as cheerful or optimistic, others see that in a time of stress Johann makes a joke out of anything. His goal act as a gentleman is almost his shortcoming, he goes out of his way to do good. Over the years Johann has devolved some intresting traits, he tends to think situations through longer than needed, he will go out of his way to help or make friends. He isn't afraid to voice his opinion or even contradict his superiors.

Backstory: As The son of the Earl of Nyon, Johann had more choices than most but he grew up working for farmers in the hill sides. He lived the same as a farm boy by request, waking early to do his duties, then going into town to sell milk in the afternoons. At the age of 10, the neighboring farm had a runaway horse little Johann coaxed the hose back to her owner. At that moment Johann fell in love with horses. He then spent his time learning how to treat, and train horses.
As a young man Johann returned to his father's home and learned how to be a leader, a gentleman, and a noble. This lasted 2 years. Johann was taught by aristocrats from around Europe. After 2 years Johann was told to travel. Johann was 15 when he left home, he went to Zurich, found love, and settled. Upon hearing of Johann's situation Johann's father had him returned without the girl.

In a rage his father bought Johann a commission as a Cornet. Claiming that this will teach Johann how to act. The last words Johann heard from the earl were ones of warning. Telling him not to return till he can live like an earls son. Now Johann was an officer in a foreign army and an outcast from his family.
Johann's father was correct in some respects, the training did teach how to live and act right but it also taught him how to kill, and how to think quick. Johann's mind became a weapon as sharp as the sword at his belt. If correctly used he could become a son in his fathers eyes once again.

To put this into perspective, this would be no different from a noble deciding to become a craftsman or laborer instead. In the eyes of society at the time, nobles and commoners have very different skillsets.

This morning Herr Hitler declared war on Belgium and Luxembourg, our intelligence shows that both nations are lightly prepared, with the Belgians just starting to mobilize with 30 infantry divisions, 3 armored, and 2 Cavalry Divisions , and Luxembourg having 425 soldiers and 246 police officers to defend. We have attacked Luxembourg with 3 Tank Divisions roughly 700 tanks, and 3 infantry divisions, about 51,000 men. The Waffen SS attacked Belgium first with 14 infantry divisions, 9 Motorized infantry divisions, and 6 Panzer Divisions, numbering around 1400 tanks, and 391,000 men, then two combined armies of 5 Tank Divisions about 1165 Tanks, 52 infantry divisions, about 884,000 men, these Armied are preceded by 8 paratrooper Divisions. In other news the forces at the Yugoslavian border have been withdrawn to Warsaw

Diplomacy

In response to the American request for Germany to stop the sale of arms to southern America Hitler released this statement “We (the people of Germany and its protected regions) have never sold anything in South America, related to the products of war. But some public and private corporations have invested in mines, oil, and factories overseas. The messerschmitt company did send a copy of the BF109 to Colombia in response to their contest, this was not Germany’s doing and so we cannot be held for that”
During this speech Hitler also addressed other countries, in a statement about the British he said “There has been a mistake, the Yugoslavian government are our friends, almost to the point of being allied, the declaration of war was that of war games, conducted by the southern German army and the Yugoslav army. Such mistakes should be taken into account before a Great War breaks out between our two great nations, surely a war of that scale would be disastrous, to both of our countries, but if you decide to continue this stance towards the
German people we Will defend ourselves”
Hitler has invited and accepted Turkey to the Axis upon hearing of their new Fascist government. If Turkey accepts they will gain rights to produce German designed Weapons, including but not limited to, the BF109, the FW190, the MG34, the MP38, the K98K, the HE111, the DO19, various field artillery, the Panzer 1 2 3, and the panzer 38(t)
Also Hitler has invited all world leaders to join him at the Nuremberg Rally in January to see a parade of the armed forces, to feast on the great foods Germany has to offer, and mainly to speak of the current situation of the world.

Home-Front

An Exact date has been given for the completion of a project dubbed the STG40 (STG44) it will be done in August Of 1940. Also the MP40 should be in full service in February of ‘40. Trade has begun with Turkey and Italy, Trade has increased with the US.
Production has been increased dramatically, as has Recruitment and training. Our trainers have become part of a well oiled efficient machine, getting troops trained to standards in a fraction of the time. This well oiled machine has put out 2 infantry divisions, 1 Tank Divisions, 2 paratrooper divisions, 2 mechanized infantry, 2 motorized infantry, 2 SS infantry, 2 SS motorized, 1 SS mechanized, and 1 Panzer SS. Though these troops are not expected to reach their posts till next month.

Summary

Germany invades Belgium and Luxembourg, the alliance between Yugoslavia and Germany is Known. Trade increases, Turkey is invited to the Axis. Large scale upgrades to the production of war materials and training of men. Leaders are invited to Nuremberg to talk over the war.
