The trainees all slowly moved forward, a few of them crashing into the ground once every few seconds. Joseph was moving rather quickly, a smile of glee painted on his face.
I missed this... He swung under a branch, letting go of his body for a moment, flipping backwards with the hook detached from the branch. He shot the other hook forward, continuing the swinging motion.
The officers overlooked the trainee's initial performances, noting the details of their skills. There were some uncannily skilled new recruits. As they kept moving forward, the trainees continued practicing with the gear slowly. As the hours progressed, they were brought out of the forest once more, retrieving the 3D gear. The trainees were once more sent to the "classroom" to learn about the titans rather than the 3DMG like the had the days earlier.
There was a figure drawn on the chalkboard looking away, the nape of its neck circled. The instructor crossed his arms and turned to the seated trainees.
"... which is why humanity has been struggling against such mindless enemies. Not simply because of their strength, size and speed but also because of their uncanny regenerative abilities that know no limits."One of the trainees uttered a few words.
"So they're invincible," stupefied the boy said.
"Not exactly," said the instructor. He pointed at the encircled area behind the figure drawn on the wall.
"This part of the titan is responsible of the regeneration of its body. When you cut it off, but only when you cut it off, can you kill the titan. That's why the gear has two swords, so that you can tear it from the body entirely. To learn how to do that, once you've become more proficient with the 3D gear, you will be training with titan dummies in the forest...."
After the lesson was finished, Joseph looked at his notes one more time to see what they should be expecting.

"More about titans.... 3DMG theory of use..." Sighing, the boy put his notebook away, making his way towards the cabins along with the rest of the group.
