ok to test i just made a new account on my laptop and it doesn't seem to be nuked so i think maybe the issue is directly linked to my desktop computer's ip address. i don't have access to it rn to stress test though
@nodogs Can you be more specific about what you are running into?

Some possibilities I can think of:

- Auto-nuking is something that happens to only brand new accounts, and iirc it is based on IP address, so using a VPN or posting from Ukraine can trigger it.

- The /discord link is buggy since Discord changed their system within the past year. It's not trying to keep you out, it's just not working very well.

- The Guild is served behind a service called Cloudflare which does sometimes force you to fill out a captcha. I don't think I have that feature turned on, but I'd like to know which of these you might be referring to.

for me it's like if i make a new account it gets auto-nuked and the only way to bypass it is by using a vpn. i can't comment much on the discord since i've been in there a while and iirc i had to get an invite link from one of the mods to be able to join, and my nickname is still crocker which is a username from a couple years ago but i know there's been issues with the nickname system on there anyway. i haven't had any issues with cloudfare or captchas.
yeah atm anyone can just sign up with a fake email that doesn't exist and they only ever need an email for password recovery purposes

also i am very curious about how ips work on here because i obviously have a very storied history with nuked accounts here and still have issues regarding accessing the discord and technically still being ip-banned, even though i'm living somewhere different now and accessing the site from a new device on a new network
Oh, just read your previous post. I wrote the same exact thing as you.

hey i'm not saying i'm open to co-admin but i'm open to co-admin
i think a decent solution would be making past usernames visible to staff only for moderation purposes

also cause there's weird gendered baggage attached to one of my old usernames that i'm not fond of being reminded of
I'm going to show historical usernames on the user profile. It's necessary for all sorts of reasons (moderation, community).

For example, I had no idea that @nodogs was a Guild legend until I clicked [@Grimhildr] in some ancient thread.

Edit: Alright, this change is now live.

i don't know what you're talking about

Ah, but the issue is when people with alternate themes start doing stuff with coloured text or images lacking transparency. Everyone starts working from opposite baselines etc.

yup, just like how different browsers (chromium vs firefox) have different effects regarding table width and the little lines that appear in empty rows
pls no alternate theme options for guild
^ same here
@nodogs @Kuro Ah thanks. I see what's causing it. brb

I tagged you both so you can experience it again.

yup, same result
