Name~ Jeremiah 'Jerry' Balker

Personality~ Jeremiah is unsure of himself. He never did have the ferocity that his great size would suggest, and is actually quite timid. At least until someone he cares about is threatened. Having being told all his life about how stupid he is, he is very self-conscious about his intelligence and decision-making ability. Because of this he would often stick close to someone who he perceives as being intelligent so that they can tell him what to do. Jeremiah is also quick to come to the rescue of any endangered comrades, especially those he considers friends. Friends are not something he's ever had many of, so he cherishes those who will befriend him and show him kindness. 

History~ Throughout his life, Jeremiah was always bigger than everyone else. His parents had always emphasized that he needed to be careful, because the other children were not as big as he was so he had to be careful not to hurt them. At the same time, his parents were sure to tell him to use his strength to help those that couldn't help themselves. These lessons would mold him into a gentle giant and a fierce protector. 

Being very big and not very bright, the military was an obvious career choice. His incredible size and his tendency to follow orders without question made him immediately popular. He was naturally always being handed heavy weapons to lug around, and could even serve as a one-man machinegun or mortar team in more extreme situations. Despite his below-average intelligence, he developed an affinity for heavy weapons of all manner and variety due to his extensive exposure to them. Jeremiah was also popular among field artillery crews, as he could load heavy shells far easier than anyone else. His dependability, skill, and loyalty allowed him to ascend to the rank of Corporal relatively quickly. Then, everything went south. 

It was late one night when Jeremiah awoke to commotion from nearby. He went to investigate and came upon a group of four other soldiers attempting to have their way with a young woman. Jeremiah's protective instincts kicked in and he rushed to the woman's rescue, beating down her attackers. Two of the soldiers ended up hospitalized, but the other two were still severely battered. The next day, Jeremiah was brought in for questioning. The woman he had rescued turned out to be a higher ranking officer, but she was far too ashamed to admit that she had almost been raped. The worst part about the whole thing was that Jeremiah couldn't even defend himself. He can't speak. Jeremiah has been a mute since birth. Needless to say, the trial did not go well for him as a result.

Skills~ Heavy weapons of all types, and hitting things very hard

Weaknesses~ has trouble fitting into some vehicles, not too bright, and completely mute, not very quick on his feet

Appearance/pic~ Jeremiah is a scary-looking fellow at first glance. Being a towering 6'8" and covered in muscle has a tendency to put some people off. His dark brown hair used to be in a standard military buzzcut, but has since grown out a little with no way to maintain it. He usually wears a plain olive drab T-shirt, cargo pants, and combat boots. He likes cargo pants, because he usually stashed more ammo in the extra pockets. The only disarming feature he possesses are his eyes. They are baby blue, and contain a certain amount of sadness in them. Most people that look into his eyes can see what a big teddy bear he really is.
