Powers winced at the Britannian's fanboy squee and promptly clamped a hand over Stephan's mouth. Oh great. Not just a boy. But a fanboy to boot.

"Yep, thats me Private." Admitted Powers with a smile, taking her hand off his mouth when she figured Stephen cooled down. "The girl of World War Neuroi and the Liberty Girl series is at the front fighting alongside you, certainly going to be something to tell your folks back home when this is over. I'd appreciate if you don't do that again. Got enough of that in the states."

Powers turned back to her loft bunk and proceeded to take out a few sundry items. A few sets of clothes and uniforms, a pack of pictures of her old stage troupe, and a sizable bag of goodies. Taking a pair of bottles of cola out, she flash-chilled them with her magic and held one out to Stephen as a friendly gesture. "Well, you evidently know a lot about me, but you seem to have me at a disadvantage mister MacTeer. How did you end up getting some magic? I haven't heard a peep in the radio or newspapers or any Witch memos about a male magic user. Whats the big secret?"

Stephen jumped at the knock on the door, but figured quickly if someone was knocking then there was nothing to really be afraid of here. He shrugged and resumed tying off the flag barrier on the bottom bunk."Aye! Is open an' ah'm decent for ye!"

Hoo boy, he's in there. Okay, easy Powers. Take it easy.

Powers opened up the hatch to find the male member of the 707th already settling in and having laid claim to the lower bunk of the room meant for three with a improvised privacy screen and flag. In fact, the entire room lacked co-ed provisions. Suffice to say things were going to be interesting here.

"Well, looks like we're roommates." Remarked Powers, tossing her bags to claim the loft bunk for herself before turning to her male roommate and holding out a handshake in greeting. "Lieutenant Emily Powers, transferred from Liberion USO and Witch Reserves. Nice to meet you mister...MacTeer was it?"

Changing it right away..... And no, Paula is not on her period.

To be fair, the A-10 is effectively a tank of the skies considering the sheer amount of abuse those things can tank and still fly perfectly.

And Powers isn't liking Paula very much. This might not bode well for the future.
Emily Powers faced the brunt of the Karlslander's tirade with a stern and focused face, taking in the lecture as her due response considering her PR past. Go figure a frontline witch wouldn't take the idea of fighting alongside a USO actor witch and grant little leeway to someone who only reenacted battles and heroines. But on the other hand, this was rather heavy-handed even for a frontline fighter. One thing a actress knew was how to read her audience, and she could tell something was seriously off about the 2nd in Command of the 707th. She said nothing and tanked the unsubtle accusation of incompetence without comment despite her usual maverick streak, deciding it would make a better show to demonstrate she kept up with her A-10 striker training than to get into a verbal sparring match on day 1 on the stage, but on the other hand this Karlslander evidently wasn't practicing what she preached. If you were on the acting stage lady, I'd have words for you.

After she finished her rant, Powers simply nodded and saluted in acknowledgement before the Karlslander stomped out, before turning aside to Patty. "Sorry about that. She's been dealing with some personal stuff lately that hasn't put her in the best of moods. Normally she's a hell of a lot friendlier, but right now.... well... just try not to get on her bad side. Anything comes up, just report to me for now. Anyway, don't worry about Private MacTeer. I don't think he'll be much of a problem." Patty patted Powers on the back and smiled. "Now ya better head over to your quarters and meet the guy. Wouldn't want to disobey the Lieutenant's orders now would ya?" Paula said with a chuckle.

"No ma'am. I'll do my best. By your leave?" Said Emily, before picking up her bags and heading out the room towards her quarters. But not until she pulled out a Hershey bar to snack on the way, both to cool down and to curb her munchies until dinner. She was going to have fun playing with this Karlslander about snacks on duty.

Walking up to her designated quarters, Powers took in a breath and knocked. "Anyone in there? Lieutenant Powers, coming in."
"Go figure a Karlslander thought of that." Snarked Powers, before promptly blanking out the other half of her line of snark as she mentally registered she was talking to a superior officer. Even though the PR corps were loose on the regs, Powers knew better than to badmouth a superior officer on her first day. (She played that character role often enough thank you!) So she took a different track.

"Ah, I get that kind of planning makes sense on paper ma'am, but in practice.....Well there were some incidents back in USO when we had to co-bunk on occassion, and I'm not keen on a repeat performance." Emily tried to carefully word before just shrugging. "Maybe its me just being paranoid, and I'll try to give the guy a chance, but I hope you understand my discomfort at this scenario. Any rules of engagement I ought to be aware of in this special-case guy, or should I conduct recon first?"
"Well, this is going to be an interesting troupe." Remarked Powers as she shouldered her bag in the briefing room after the briefing was over and her squadmates were beginning to amble out. The opening speeches by her new commanding officers were...conflicting to say the least. On one hand their Liberion commander was like most wing-leaders Emily had met before, although she wondered why a witch of her age was on the frontlines. Modern jet strikers were a bit more flexible in their age-range than the old prop strikers, but still very odd. Meanwhile the Karlslander fit every bit the stereotype with regulations and rules and strictness. No difference from her old foreign director back in Hollywood. That old hag was harsh, but Powers owed her a lot for getting her through the rougher parts of WW-N's filming and dealing with overbearing execs. She had no doubt this Karlslander officer would do the same. (Even if she looked to be the type to get in the way of her snacktimes)

Still, as much as she wanted to take it all in stride, Emily couldn't help but notice a few issues. One was the severe lack of sky witches, usually sky witches outnumbered tank witches, but here it was the other way around. Maybe that would be better explained in the tactical sessions to follow. The second-

"Excuse me, Captain Mitchell?" Emily stood up and walked up to her commanding officer with her bag over one shoulder and the paper listing rooming arrangements in hand. "I'm 2nd Lieutenant Powers, transferred from Liberion Witch Force PR. Are these rooming arrangements correct? Do we really have a boy co-bunking alongside witches? That sounds a bit like a recipe for incidents, especially in close ship quarters, ma'am."
Updated my CS. Hunting for a picture. Can't wait for this to boot up. We got quite a bunch of characters.
Name: Emily Winfield Powers

Age: 16

Appearance:
5"7 tall, brown hair tied into a braided ponytail, blue eyes, Liberion-standard bust (meaning large by any other nation's standard), remarkably fit body even for a witch. Her actual dress varies greatly. Usually its a standard Liberion jacket and hotpants, but she's got a variety of outfits in her bag of holding.

In her A-10 Striker, wears a full aviation helmet, ear protection, and tinted goggles. Part out of PR stuntage as a hyperlethal combat vector, part out of a need to protect her face and ears from the GAU-8 even with a witches' environmental aura.

Nation: Liberion

Rank: Lieutenant

Striker Unit: A-10 Thunderbolt II "Warthog" Striker

Weapon: GAU-8 30mm Rotary Gatling Gun (Witch version) with backpack ammo drum, 8x wing hardpoints for rocket pods, missiles, bombs, or external fuel tanks. Carrys a pair of M1911 pistols as personal backup.

Magical Ability: Chill. Powers is capable of manipulating cold and ice to cool the barrel of her GAU-8 in extended firing or herself. While she can fling around bolts of ice, its not a combat-effective weapon in a modern battlefield. Also uses it to chill drinks.

Animal Familiar: Korat cat "Natch"

Personality:
Powers is a optimistic girl, always one to greet the day smiling and ready to go. She's a bit of a attention-hog, trying to show off on the battlefield and play hero to her squadron mates and ground forces she supports with flashy maneuvers and quick gunplay, and always one to be at the forefront of a PR stunt or interview owing to being in Military PR. But her compulsion to annoy politicians and get into fights with marines gets her into plenty of trouble (although the marines think its a hoot), and sometimes has disciplinary problems with commanding officers that don't take well to her freewheeling antics. Despite her attention-grabbing and troublemaking nature though, she seriously does care about others, wanting to make them laugh and smile even in dark times like any good actor wants their audience to feel. She has a overall mentality of "If I don't do it, then who will?".

She's also perpetually snackish due to the high magic consumption of the A-10 Striker making her continuously hungry, and has the unnatural ability to scrounge up chocolate bars and cola to supply such cravings. But is more than willing to share.

Bio/History:
Born in Hollywood, California in Liberion as the daughter of Rosaline Powers, a well-known retired witch turned actress, it was little surprise when Emily decided to follow her mothers footsteps. First as a child actor, then as a member of the Liberion Army PR corps when her magic ignited at age 13 and she was recruited with the help of her mother's connections. Public speaking, dancing, acting, imitating Neuroi War veterans, Powers took to the world of Witch Corps PR like none other before. Her fame is cemented in the ongoing alt-historical film series "World War N" about alternative ways the Neuroi war could have gone, and about how one witch in the right place can make all the difference. Then the Neuroi sunk the 1st Coalition Fleet, and Emily's career was upended bigtime.

To combat the fall in morale, the Witch Corps were sending her to the front as a publicity stunt, over her objections. The need for combat witches, especially ones capable of running the heavy payload of a A-10 CAS striker, was greater than her value as a propaganda star. Pressed to join the front, Powers got over her initial apprehension and disagreement with the politicians that kicked her there to realize the frontline troops needed a star to look up to just as much as the people back home. The war is her stage, and her act is on.
High Orbit
Colonial Starship Endeavor
Briefing Room 1

"Alright, here is the situation-" Said Lieutenant May as she activated the holo-projector at the center of the briefing room as the rest of the Militia and pilots aboard the Endeavour filed into the room.

"Ramos colony has been agitating towards us ever since they missed their last two supply drops from home. Word is that the ISC are considering cutting ties here due to all the hostile activity, and the local colonists don't like that. And they are beginning to seriously strike out on their own. In order to do so, they need infrastructure and food supplies they were forced to import earlier. And as it happens, we're the closest supply. A mob of Ramos militia are on their way to Azura as we speak, estimated to be 200 militia with mixed small arms, mostly elephant gun-type weaponry to deal with wildlife and natives, but still deadly if they land a hit. No vehicles or air support. There has been no word from Ramos colony command, so we are assuming this is a hostile incursion.

Captain Garroway is ordering our Militia to intercept and smash this angry mob, we can't afford to let these madmen anywhere near the automated farms or water processing facilities. Alpha and Bravo squads are on the ground and being airlifted to head off the mob at the Muelish River Crossing. Zeta, Echo, and Foxtrot squads will be spacedropped here, to flank the mob from the side. You will be in anti-personnel configuration. Gamma and Iota squads will remain on ship on standby in case Grissom colony decides to act up as well. This operation will be supported by three Hornets in ground-strike configuration."

"Three Hornets against an angry mob ma'am? Ramos doesn't have any anti-air capability, it will be a slaughter."

"Thats the point. We need to drive a line in the sand people." Retorted the pink-haired lieutenant. "We need to send a message that Azura isn't a pushover until the reinforcement force arrives. Hopefully these morons will be smart enough to run away once we start shooting, but our time of appeasement to them has ended and its time to drive the point home. All Jackets are to carry anti-personnel loadouts and pack extra batteries, we may be out there for a while. Any questions? No? Dismissed. Gear up. We jump in ten minutes!"

Muelish River Crossing

The Muelish River Crossing was a simple prefab bridge crossing across a wide river inbetween the territories of the Eudaimonia Foundation and the ISC colonies. A major bottleneck for anyone trying to get into Foundation territory, and everyone knew it. Bridges across the river were scarce, and the natives had taken to destroying them. Azura kept drones on station to guard the bridge, along with Jacket-equipped militia on reserve for cases like this.

But that meant Lieutenant Nathan Harris had 30 grunts to defend a bridge from a mob of 200. Reinforcements and air support were on the way, but that still left him on the pointy end of things. And it certainly wasn't the first time that happened to him.

"Have camera drones along the treeline, alert me the second we spot the mob coming." He ordered, lumbering in his Jacket across the bridge while the rest of Alpha and Bravo squads were digging in. "I want Beaters on the edge of both flanks, give them a clear line of fire for their machineguns and mortars. I want everyone's grenade launchers to be packing frag rounds, no holding back against these guys."

"What if they try to surrender sir?" Spoke up a soldier from their sandbag position.

"Deportation, kick them back to Ramos. We have zero room for prisoners here people. Kill or deport. Zero tolerance is the word from command in regards to these madmen. They had their chance to talk peace and trade, instead they're skipping right to war." Harris hopped into his own dugout and pulled up a case of shells for his left-arm autocannon, scattering shell magazines here and there for easy access reloads and a spare box for his right-arm machinegun. "We're here to send a message. Lets be ready to deliver."
