Empire of Anvegad

ANVEHOLD DAILY NEWS
ALLIANCE!

Chairman Volkov has issued a public statement confirming the signing of the Treaty of Kholkov, and the signing of a three-way defensive alliance between Suravaek and Khernikovia. With this, a solid defensive accord has been established guaranteeing the security and sovereignty of its signatory states with the might of our combined militaries.

Chairman Volkov has declined to state whether Anvegad troops will be sent to intervene in the Suravaek-Honnerian colonial war as of this time of writing, but notes that Anvegad will take its alliance commitments with all due seriousness should the Empire be called upon by its allies when in need. A statement made with the same breath of a new military expansion plan intended to ensure this would be no empty promise. Further backed by comments from leading military generals on the possibility of military officer exchanges for better joint-defense.

LABOR! UNITY! STRENGTH!

In other news, the Ministry of Industry has declared a bold new plan to establish railroads across the country, bringing every city of the Empire together through the modern miracle of steam-powered locomotives. Alongside telegraphs and telephones to be built alongside the rails, our nation will be united like never before.

Mass-recruitment for railroad work crews is already underway as entrepenourial railroad companies, labor contractors, and military engineers are all called upon to bring about this union of progress for the state, with the intent of uniting all the major cities of the Empire within the span of a single year, and to provide a basis for further expansion of the railroad to support our growing ports and industries.

"We toil today for the benefit of future generations. While there will certainly be sacrifices and much toil required to bring about this mighty project, our children and grandchildren will forever thank us for giving our nation the gift of iron rails and the boons of industry hastened by iron horses." - Minister of Industry Janus Kalburn

RICHES FROM AFAR

In a report from our distant colonies in the Sarelian Islands, our venture report has confirmed the raising of the flag on Fort Camber and the beginnings of bringing civilization to the natives of the land as proper citizens of the Empire.

Our reporter interviewed the local magistrate on the stance of "uplifting" the natives.

"While we endeavor to integrate these native peoples into the Empire as productive workers, we will also place equal effort into educating their youth into being proper citizens that can provide more than sweat and labor. We will show these native peoples the superiority of the Anvegad way so they can find their true calling in the service of the Empire and help us in turning this colony into a productive establishment of the Empire. Perhaps as auxillaries for our military after seeing their hunters track their prey and how they navigate the wilderness of this island." - Magistrate Arkon Collier.

Envoys to the Grand Empire of Suravek and the Khernikovian Empire

An envoy was dispatched to the Grand Empire of Suravek as a neighboring power to Anvegad with an offer of more open trade. With the advent of industry and mechanization, the old system of tariffs, taxes, and berthing rights was overdue to be replaced with a new system proposed for the benefit of the two powers. It was hoped that trade would bring their nations together in ways words and war could never match.

Establishing trade relations now could also lead to further kinds of relationships and agreements between their nations, not least because of the additional money that could be made available for their respective empires. And if the other powers wished to bring up additional terms or deals alongside these offers of trade, Anvegad would be open to discussion.

Envoy to Kalpia

Ambassador Falver straightened his ever-insufferable necktie as he awaited an audience with Kalpia's representatives of industry and war regarding the latest sensation to sweep the world. Bolt-action rifles of remarkable quality, accuracy, and reliability far surpassing even the Armory Rifles used in Anvegad. While a minor dent in national pride, the need for the rifles was quite prominent and the prices noted in brief discussions after their demonstrations were reasonable for their superb quality.

He thought through the request to Kalpia once more: Anvegad was willing to purchase 20,000 of its latest-model rifles from Kalpia at the beginning of 1901 with the next government budget cycle. They wished to acquire a test sample of guns (about a thousand or so for training and trials) now, and the rest of the order as could be most timely produced.

Now to see just how much they would demand for the weapons, and how soon they could be conveyed with the republic marching to war.

Summary:
* Anvegad offers Trade Agreements to the Grand Empire of Suravek and the Khernikovian Empire.
* Anvegad requests to buy 20,000 top-line rifles from Kalpia in 1901, and begins negotiation overtures to determine price and shipping.

Fallkeep Daily

The traditional bastion of the Northern Territories of Anvegad was recently struck by a series of severe Summer storms. Several hundred homes were destroyed, but civilian losses were thankfully low and farmers report their fields appreciate the

Colonel Kessler, of the Fallkeep military garrison, immediately mobilized local troops to assist in rescue work and clearing roads to assist in rebuilding. Anvegad High Command since commended the Colonel for his initiative and have ordered additional 5,000 army sappers and troops to be transported into the region to assist, a demonstration of the Empire Army's abilities to protect its citizens from threats both afar and from nature.

Anvehold High Command

In accordance with Chairman Volkov's recent statement on the need to further expand and consolidation of the Empire's industrial holdings, new effort is being placed to improve the economic status of the Empire.

By order of General Fedrickson of the Fourth Army, another 1,500 troops are dispatched to the Sarelian Islands in preparations for further exploration and expansion of the Empire's holdings in the distant yet potentially valuable islands, in conjunction with deployment of two destroyers and a light cruiser from the Home Fleet to escort and support them. Expansion plans of the colonies are also tabled to be discussed by the inner council pending reports from prospectors in the colonies and to be sent out.

Meanwhile, the Chairman enters into several closed-door meetings with his diplomatic and foreign advisors on potential of bolstering Anvegad industries with partnerships with foreign powers. Besides overtures of good will and partnership with Honneria, no major foreign policy has been decided yet due to domestic matters occupying much of the Chairman's time, but it is clear the Northern States will play a major factor into the future plans of Anvegad.

Summary
- Anvegad moves 5,000 military troops to Fallkeep to assist in rescue and rebuilding of essential infrastructure.
- 1,500 Regulars, 2 destroyers, and a light cruiser are dispatched to the Empire's colony in the Sarelian Islands to prepare for further expansion of the Empire's colonial holdings, along with prospectors to look for new resources.
- Anvegad focuses on expansion of its industries and railroads, possibly with foreign investments and partnerships, although no formal offers are sent as of yet besides minor overtures of good will to Honneria.
I'd prefer some options recommended at least. Give us a basis for possible results of actions.
First draft of nation sheet:

Working on nation, but I'm a bit confused on the tech purchasing system. I assume 1895 is our starting year to determine costs by?

How much would I have to pay to get Bolt-action rifles and machineguns? Do I have to take grenades with them?
Anvegad returns. Thinking either a Communist or fascist state. So much FUN to be had.
Changing vote to ancient times. Allows for more individualistic combat and diverse cultures.
I'm primarily in favor of a 2030's setting, if we can get around little naggling issues like "nuclear weapons" and such. Take a leaf from Black Ops 3 or Endwar and say proliferation of ballistic missile defense systems forces a return to conventional warfare?

All three ideas work for me really. I'm not opposed to continuing this game either if you want to reboot with new rules and turn settings.
