@JackDLemmy I've actually ran this RP before on another forum a few years back and it wasn't that hard. Each crew is just composed of the player, an NPC assistant, and fodder. Then each separate pirate crew they take on is just a separate mission. It just gets complicated if the player's post involves detailed actions for their character, NPC, and twenty different fodder. Otherwise, its all good.
Just brainstorming and throwing this out there. It could be interesting and attract a few people; it may not, and just slowly disappear form the front pages of the interest check section.
Okay, here's the premise I have in mind.
We already discussed the general plan so I'll review it real quick. This is a new age, but not a very good one. Luffy's reign as a pirate king was a silver age. No one has been able to fill his place. The new pirates are cynical, cruel and careless and a major threat. They have spilled from the Grand Line and into the 4 blues. The Marines are not what they used to be either. With Coby gone, the system has been decaying. Men have forgotten what it means to be just, honourable and awesome. It is time for a great clean up and the Marine have just the man for that. [Insert name Here] is an ambitious and devoted Admiral who wants to see the end of the pirate age once and for all. Piracy is to be eradicated.
The PCs, you guys, will be competent marine captains (or something higher, still thinking) who will be gifted a random devil fruit, as well as a crew of fodders, but will be allowed to make an NPC as their helper/assistant/sidekick. A Tashigi to your Smoker kind of deal. If two players wish to pair up, I'm cool with that.
You will also be given a ship which you will be allowed to customize as you go on. You will start in the four blues, and then move on to tackle the Grand Line itself.
Completely whipping out piracy is technically impossible, but the Marines have a card up their sleeve. This'll be revealed later. Anyway, I also want to boost the level of technology. So we'll be having weird aircrafts and zeppelins will now be present; just imagine WWI stuff. Franky-tier tech will come out later.

Shiren Clan
The Shiren Clan is one of the least populated clans in Kirigakure. At birth, members of this clan are infused with copious chakra-rich poisons. Those fortunate enough to survive gain a unique physique that possesses a powerful adaptive resistance to noxious substances and the ability to generate poisons, toxins, and venom of their own with the use of their chakra and bodily substances; these come with a variety of effects, ranging from blurring of vision, body weakness to paralysis, and for the more potent ones, death.
Aesthetic changes of those who successfully undergo this tradition would include pale white hair, porcelain skin, and blood-red eyes. Because of the Shiren Clan's unique abilities, its members are characterized not only by their knowledge on toxicology and utilization of various toxins, but their precision and mastery of chakra moulding, which is a prerequisite in creating poisons. They are known to be proficient in the medical arts and are often seen caring for insects, animals, and plants that produce poison or possess poison-like properties.
Being few in number, those from the Shiren Clan tend to avoid participating in actual combat to preserve their lineage and hidden techniques. To show their loyalty to Kirigakure, they support their village from the back lines, providing medical care to the injured and equipping their fellow shinobi with powerful toxins to use in battle.

With the eventual responsibility of leading their family bestowed to his cousin, Dokumaru was free to pursue his own interests. Clothing: Dokumaru sportd a maroon mesh-armor shirt under a long sleeved white collared top. Over it, is a purple gakuran-styled unfirom bearing the Shiren Clan symbol and purple military-grade cargo pants. The rest of his attire consists of standard shinobi sandals, his black forehead protector tied around his neck, kunai holders strapped to his left arm and right thigh, and a pouch around his waist. Chakra Nature: Water Kekkei Genkai: None Fighting Style: Dokumaru tends to handle combat-related encounters in a tactical manner. Without any exceptional skills in hand-to-hand combat, Dokumaru always tries to outwit his opponents and makes use of the tools, mainly his poisons, he has in his disposal. He prefers battles of attrition and moving in teams.
Talents: Dokumaru is knowledgeable in basic human anatomy and on poison-related information be it regarding tools, plants, insects, animals, or other substances. Although not the most talented in taijutsu, Dokumaru is incredibly acrobatic and nimble. His most unique capability, even among other shinobi, is requiring only one hand when performing hand seals.
The use of poisons, created by the Shiren Clan from their own bodies, are exclusively used by members of their own clan due to the technicalities associated with them. To activate the inert poisons, molding of the Shiren Clan's own chakra into their chosen medium (usually blood) and exposure to air is required, but a select few are exempted to this rule.

Dokumaru is a proud Kirigakure loyalist and a fanboy. He's well informed on the current and previous Mizukages, the Seven Shinobi Swordsmen of the Mist, the various clans of Kirigakure, and even on stories about the old days of the Blood Mist Village.
Dokumaru is fond of sugary treats and is not shy about it. It would be unusual to see him without candy or any kind of sweets. Unfortunately, he has no baking or confectionery skills.
