Sometimes I wonder why I try when some people *cough cough @Slime ;p* don't seem to even read the summaries and then wind up asking, "Whooz Aihtiraq?"

That's an interesting idea. It would add several new animal species to the world so it could get pretty chaotic, but if the sickness remains then it could act as an effective
populational control.

Aihtiraq does genuinely want the wishes to turn out well (unlike the wish-granting genies of Earth mythology), although if the wisher insists then Aihtiraq will grant their wish even if he knows it will lead to tragedy.

So basically "be careful with what you wish for" is his motto. I can imagine a scenario on which my characters rely on him, but that would be a for a very advanced point, if I even choose to go that way.

I think Helvana would be like "well, that sucks" and continue on exploring Galbar. Biggest problem would be that she'd still be reckless despite her mortality, other than that her and Gwyn's cloaks would degrade with time and she'd have a harder time hunting for food. That is, I'm considering that Oscar and Frederic would remain at her side, things would be a lot harder without them around.

And you know what happened last time there was a Grot, now, don't we?

I don't think I was around by then to know what a Grot can do. And I don't see how a mechanical bird meant to violate the privacy of the main characters can be considered a gift.
