THE CURSE OF THE DRUNKEN MONKEY The character becomes a creature of impulse and ignorance. He is a slave to his desires, unable to control himself long enough to resist temptation. The Drunken Monkey acts without thinking and does not consider the consequences of his actions. He gorges his appetites without restraint and ignores dangerous situations in the heat of the moment—but will drop any indulgence the moment some new temptation presents itself.
Partial Control: The character may give vague attention to the next day, provided it doesn’t interfere with his pursuit of pleasure. He will still drink himself into a stupor, for example, but he might ask a close friend to watch out for him first.
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Birthplace: The city of Mahalanka in the Eastern Forests of Creation
Raised primarily in the city of Kajeth in the Republic of Halta
Appearance: Due to his history as an orphaned thief in a nation of tree-dwelling mortals and talking animals, it comes as no surprise to most people that Meymun doesn't quite fit the image of the "civilized" folk. He retains only a single set of loose fitting and altogether tattered clothes covered in dirt, grass, and moss stains. Like most Haltans, he prefers to go barefoot, even if most commoners might balk at his prehensile feet.
Most notably, all of Meymun's hair has changed color after his Exaltation. Whereas before it was patently obvious he was no native Haltan due to his shaggy orange mop, the blessing of Luna has dyed everything from the shoulder-length hair on his head to the fur on his feet the same shade of green as that of his Spirit Shape, the Emerald Monkey. While this helps him blend in to a Haltan crowd extremely well, it makes him stick out like a sore thumb most everywhere else unless he happens to be surrounded by a group of Wood Aspected Dragon-Bloods. Not exactly a situation a Lunar would like to be in.
Aside from that obvious tell, Meymun's Exaltation has done wonders for his previously malnourished physique, even if he no longer appears fully human by most standards. Most obviously, Meymun has a pearly white snaggle-toothed fang on the left side of his mouth. His previously rail-thin limbs have become full-bodied overnight, and his previously gaunt features have filled in in such a way that would put even career soldiers to shame.
Sadly, not even the blessing of a Celestial Incarnae could hide the rather ape like quality of Meymun's facial structure. Maybe such a thing was foreshadowing his destiny as a member of Luna's Chosen. At least, that's what he'd like to think.
Gear: Seeing as he was only recently Exalted, Meymun has yet to track down any of his past lives' artifacts or belongings
Skills: As one might expect of a Haltan, Meymun is an extremely adept climber and gatherer, having lived on the elevated platforms of Kajeth and Chanta for much of his youth, surviving on whatever nuts, berries, and edible moss he could poach from Haltan farmers and their Emerald Monkeys.
A former apprentice to a Great Ape merchant in Kajeth, Meymun was taught Riverspeak as a second language, and is capable of reading and speaking it fluently, if with something of a Haltan accent.
Though he was eventually caught and exiled to the depths of the Haltan forests, Meymun is an effective thief and pickpocket.
Unbeknownst to him, Meymun's recent Exaltation has also imparted a somewhat subconscious knowledge of hand to hand combat in him. Though his lack of experience and utter lack of formal training is fairly obvious to any dedicated martial artist, being a Celestial Exalt will more than make up for this detriment in most cases.
Intimacies: Locate the resurrected Solar with whom he shares a Soul Bond Avenge the death of his adopted father at the hands of the Guild Liberate the city of Sperimin from Raksi, the Queen of Fangs Retrieve as many lost artifacts of his First Age life as possible Explore the length of Creation
Personality: There are many words that could describe Meymun after his Exaltation, brash, boisterous and fearless chief among them. Meymun had always been a bit of a talker, even during his days as a thief, and his newfound position amongst Luna's chosen hasn't done much to quell this fact, even if it has shifted from cursing authorities to drunken singing in taverns across the Hundred Kingdoms. His mouth still has a tendency to get him into trouble, however.
Despite this, Meymun still retains a certain air of naivety due to his upbringing in Halta and isolation from the rest of the world at large.
Biography: Meymun knows precious little of his origin other than that he was born to human parents who could not keep him, and thus was taken in by a Great Ape named Maipa. Unknown to him, Meymun was born to a pair of mortals in the City of A Thousand Golden Delights. Not wanting to see their only child cannibalized by the Queen of Fangs, Meymun's parents pleaded with a traveling Haltan merchant to smuggle their son out of Mahalanka. The merchant agreed, and Meymun found his way to Kajeth in the Haltan Republic. Whether or not Raksi ever discovered this deception and dealt with the perpetrators is anyone's guess.
During his years in Kajeth, Meymun learned the woodcarving trade and the basic skills of life from his adopted father and acted as the go between for Maipa and his foreign patrons who weren't quite accustomed to doing business with a talking Great Ape. Life, for the most part, was great. That was, until Maipa was killed by his so-called "business partners" from the Guild.
Finding his guardian dead after a hard day's work, Meymun reported what he could to the Haltan authorities, and while he likely could've found work as another woodcarver's apprentice, the young boy swiftly found himself as part of the urban poor. Thus began his formative years as a petty thief and conman.
Surviving on whatever food he could poach from unsuspecting farmers and sleeping in whatever Redwood branch he could find unoccupied, Meymun fell in with other young Haltan criminals and developed quite the array of thieving skills. Foreign targets were particularly easy, seeing as they could never give chase to him for long on the elevated platforms and tree branches that served as the streets and roads of Halta. However, even the most skilled of pickpockets is going to slip up eventually, and at the age of twenty, Meymun was finally caught by the Kajeth town guard and escorted to the capital city of Chanta for trial.
Upon his arrival and his subsequent inability to pay the fine for petty theft, it was discovered that Meymun had never completed the Haltan Test of Survival. As this rendered him not a legal adult, the council was at a loss for what to do with the young man, as they were now unable to legally send him into servitude in the Haltan army. It did not take the elders long to simply send Meymun into the forests of Halta to undergo an impromptu Test of Survival, only without the traditional knife, blanket, or waterskin.
He was soon set upon by bandits and beasts alike, but, when it seemed like all was lost, Meymun received his Exaltation from Luna. He made short work of his assailants with his newfound powers and monstrous warform.
Overcome with a newfound wanderlust, and seeing as he no longer had anything tying him to the Haltan Republic, Meymun found his way out of the forests and has begun making his way into the Hundred Kingdoms of the Scavenger Lands, no longer the orphan thief he once was, but as the newest member of the Lunar Exalted.
Other: Basically designed solely because I dig the Celestial Monkey Style from the Scroll of the Monk, and every anime inspired anything needs a Sun Wukong expy.
Also note that effectively all of my Exalted knowledge comes from Second Edition, so if anything's out of date or what not, that's my bad.
Because I am a benevolent being, I have cut down the size of Weapon's masterwork image for the sake of @Sola and @Inkarnate and their pathetically weak eyeballs.

|Birth Name| » Akira Yamada (山田 明, Yamada Akira)
|Hails From| » East Osaka City, Kansai, Japan » August 23rd, 1993 (23)
|Fighting Style| » Akira is a student of modern day puroresu through and through. He has spent almost every waking day from the moment he graduated secondary school practicing his craft in the AJW Dojo in Kyoto. In particular, Akira has fully embraced the Strong Style of striking from his mentors within the Dojo, and adhered to a very basic philosophy within the squared circle: Hit Hard and Hit Fast.
While he spent the first two years of his career, and still heavily leans on, using the extremely basic repertoire expected of a Young Lion, the subsequent year or so before his arrival in the United States saw Akira begin to build his own unique move-set. This mostly involved dropkicks and snap suplexes mixed in with the typically stiff knee and elbow strikes of the AJW. One might say Akira's excursion to AWE is an experiment in seeing how an American audience responds to a decidedly Japanese style of wrestling.
|Gimmick| » Thanks to a groundbreaking business agreement between the Association of Japanese Wrestling and the Chairman of AWE, one of Japan's most promising young talents has begun his traditional excursion in the one promotion nobody would've thought to see him.
Although he initially came into AWE with the typical over-eagerness expected of a Young Lion, it soon became very clear that Akira came from a different realm of sports entertainment. He came from a realm of legitimate athletes, rather than the caricatures put on display by the Quinn family. He quickly found such competitors beneath a man of his skills, despite, in some cases, being many years his senior. In short, Akira has turned on the organization that opened their doors to help him grow as a competitor, and now he seeks to conquer the AWE in order to prove the superiority of his own brand of wrestling, as a so-called athlete in exile.
He has subsequently dubbed himself the "Rising Sun of the Wrestling World" and abandoned the traditional black tights and wrestling boots of Japanese rookies for a set of gear that blatantly evokes the Rising Sun motif.
Whether or not the superstars within AWE will earn his respect is yet to be seen.

|Backstage Rep| » Due to the relatively short amount of time he has been a member of AWE's locker room, Akira has not yet garnered much of a reputation. Most of the people he has personally worked with seem to deem him competent and willing to follow the directions he's given. If you were to ask the man himself, he'd simply say his apparent humility is bred from a deep love and passion for the business, and understanding that he has yet to fully pay his dues.
However, beneath the surface beats the heart of a man who wants nothing more than to ascend as high as he possibly can, whether that be in Japan or the United States. His home promotion wouldn't of made such a fuss of sending him to America if he was to spend his time there toiling in the lower midcard. Everyone from his promotion to his trainers have placed great trust in his talent and abilities, and he fully intends to live up to such praise, even if some of the cagier veterans in AWE are a bit side-eyed at his arrival.

Appearance: It is clearly evident to anyone who lays eyes upon Benji that he has been a man, or rather boy, of the tracks for some time. His clothes are weathered, his face unshaven and his brown hair grows unkempt down to his shoulders. Though it cannot be denied that he carries a sense of weariness thanks to his newfound position of fending for himself, his gray eyes and sheepish grin still lend a somewhat boyish quality about him. Benji's most noticeable piece of clothing is an armed forces jacket inherited from his father that hangs loose on his 5'3" frame. The only other apparel Benji seems to own (other than his farmhand's uniform) are a plain white shirt, a faded pair of blue jeans, and a set of work boots.
Personality: As one might expect given the past year or so of his life, Benjamin Hayes is a reserved and generally quiet boy of sixteen years. He's done what he's been told and proven to be well mannered and a hard worker. He didn't have the luxury of a long mourning period upon his mother's passing, and as such he learned very quickly the turmoil of being an orphan on the road.
Oddly, this has not seemed to affect Benji's demeanor. Even as a child Benji had been a gentle soul, and his mother ensured he knew the value of kindness, even to those less advantaged to themselves. Some would say Benji is kind to a fault, letting himself go hungry so a younger child could eat, and so on. He believes that, eventually, the Lord will reward him for his kindness during such trying times as these. He has to. Such belief is one of the few things keeping Benji going on his journey through transience, and so far, his faith has typically been rewarded.
Hopefully the universe won't see fit to destroy such innocence.
History: Born in the town of Rockport to an English teacher, Benji never had the opportunity to know his father, conceived on the eve of one Charlie Hayes' deployment to France in the Great War. Aside from this, Benji's youth was practically mundane. He took regular trips to Flemington to visit his grandparents, caused only a little bit more trouble at school than your usual student, and went to confession once a month at his local place of worship. Like everyone else however, this changed once the Great Depression began in earnest.
Upon the stock market crash in 1929, Benjamin's mother, Mary, was forced to take up any odd job she could find around town in order to support herself and her son, and while Benji was still young and naive enough to enjoy the almost daily trips to the local soup kitchen, Mary worked herself to the point of exhaustion, and only a few years into the Depression came down with what prove to be a lethal case of tuberculosis. While she had attempted to find an orphanage to take Benjamin in during her final days, it seemed all such establishments were full, and upon her death in the summer of 1933, Benji was left to fend for himself.
Without his mother's guidance, Benji has drifted from town to town along the railway in Georgia, relying on whatever kindness he could find from strangers and working whatever jobs he could find available. Recently, he heard of a farmstead taking on hands in Cypress Hollow, and traveled their with a group of his fellow homeless. He found himself one of the lucky few to be taken on by the Tackett Family, and believes he has now found the ideal spot to ride out the rest of the Depression and, potentially, a career.
