I was thinking of going with an industrialized Not - Russian Tsardom, where the Tsar realized the only way to stop the foreseeable proletariat revolution was to industrialize and create a middle class. I'll get on posting a sheet and maybe even my first post sometime tonight.
I hate to do this, especially after just joining and only making one post, but I'm going to have to drop out. It seems like a really fun time and you folks are probably really fun to RP with but my already hectic schedule has just became much more busy. I appreciate the opportunity to join this and hope that maybe one day I can be more available to RP with you fine folks.
I'm completely interested but very much concerned with how the last post in this OOC was 11 days ago.
Color me interested
Regardless, I am going to be dropping out. I hate to do it but this is just a little too fast paced without enough detail for my tastes. I appreciate you letting me join in and I did have a fun time for the short amount that it lasted, however.
I'm totally here. I've been gone a grand total of a two or three days???

Stuff happens, sorry lol.

"I both appreciate the offer and accept it. If I can keep my people fed, we can manufacture, produce, defend, scavenge, and simply survive. We have the specifications and blueprints for the weapons, we'll just need to scrap some junk material on the station to produce a makeshift design. I won't lie, the first edition we create will be faulty, higher chance of failure, and generally weaker. Once we have the proper materials, however... the quality will be that of the finest military force. Of course, we'd keep an amount of these weapons for ourselves, not only to fight the Crawl, but because it would be easier to train your people that way as well."

Godwin knew it was a good deal. His people would have to fight off the Crawl if they were ever plagued or planned on scavenging abandoned stations. His only concern was arming the same people that he wanted to keep in a weak state and exhibit control over. He wasn't sure of what exactly they could do but they were the one manufacturing the weapons and the possibilities of gaining the upper hand were there. Besides, his people got weapons out of it too.

"Again, if you find any material that you wish to contribute, it would be greatly appreciated and your station would receive the bulk of the order. We'd only ask for a laser rifle or two for study and improvement."

Godwin took a seat next to Gerret and regardless of if there was other available seating, the Nationalist officers opted to stand instead, keeping their hands behind their backs and remaining mostly still and silent. Godwin was turned slightly in his chair to face Gerret, though the beauty of the location they were in did not escape him.

"I'd be ecstatic to hold the honor of defending such an important resource. It's my hope that our stations have a long and prosperous relationship and like I mentioned earlier... maybe one day we may even be able to consider ourselves one great station". Truly, Godwin was indifferent to the needs of the other station. He was striking a deal and didn't need to use force or risk loss to get what he wanted. Besides, this made peaceful annexation at a later date that much easier.

"Now, my station also has great industrial capability. It's a factory station and has several manufacturing plants and facilities. Although the equipment is meant to be used to create military grade weapons and armor, which we could use to further build defenses around here, we could also use this machinery to build other things given a little makeshift work and parameter changes. All we need is the material. So if you and your people happen to come across anything like that through trade or scavenging, keep my station in mind and we might be able to manufacture products for both of our stations".

Godwin smirked a bit, "Although these are win - win situations we've been discussing, I want you to know that I find it of the utmost importance that we, as potentially the last of our kind, are willing to be generous in such troubling times. If there is anything your station needs, tell me, and maybe we can work something out". Of course, this was just a show of good faith. Words are wind and if any of the requests were too much work with little reward, he wouldn't dedicate himself.
Memory of her crime had escaped her mind. Of course, memory of a lot of things had escaped her mind, including the details of her personal life and anything beyond the past week. The last thing she could remember was waking up a slave, being tortured and worked to near death every day. This experience had effectively suppressed her imagination or curiosity and Grinn had seemingly accepted her fate, awaiting execution with patience. It wasn't until the old stranger had freed them that her mind began to wander. Who was she? What did she do to deserve this? Why couldn't she remember when so much seemed to come as instinct?

Even with her newly found freedom, Grinn had little time to think all of this through. They had escaped but were still in danger, hiding their position from prying eyes and careful to avoid any and all potential enemies. Who ever these people were that Grinn had escaped with were connected to her and they were all wanted for something that had apparently earned them extreme hatred. For all she knew, there could be people waiting at every corner for them.

The group was suddenly stopped when a man in armor had appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. What ever thoughts that were crossing Grinn's mind had slipped away as a surge of energy burst through her body. If she weren't more reserved, she would have already charged forward, unarmed and screaming, attacking the sudden threat. Grinn felt that if they were attacked, she wouldn't be able to help herself.

When another figure suddenly appeared, Grinn was aware of the developing situation. They had been hunted down by who had likely been bounty hunters. The man who had freed them from captivity beckoned for the escaped slaves to run. It felt as though every fiber of her being was fighting this command, nearly forcing her to join him. However, she pushed herself to run, following those who had already began making the sprint toward the crags.

Whether she would stick with these people or not was debatable but she knew that her best chances would be with them at this moment in time.

Godwin followed Gerret and his crew closely, the two officers tailing behind him as well. All of the guards remained at the entrance of their station. The Savior General absorbed what information of the station he could as they walked, speaking as they made the trip.

"If I knew that we were going to receive such a warm welcome, I would have brought a gift myself. We'll have to arrange something later", Godwin explained to the other station leader, "as for planet reclamation, well... I hate to sound cynical but that may be a bit hopeful at the moment. I would be more worried about a more hateful and greedy enemy. Humankind".

Godwin paused for a moment before continuing, "You have arguably the most important resource, my friend. That can either give you the upper hand or make you a target. From the looks of things, you don't seem to have much security and that makes me fearful. Now I'm sure you have enough food to go around for an extra station or two... but what happens when there are too many stations? What happens when the civilians of our stations demand more because the rations aren't enough to go around? Do we let the unrest bubble into civil disobedience? Do we let that civil disobedience force us into drastic action? What if one of these other stations, just trying to do good by their people... or maybe something more insidious, use force to take such a precious resource for themselves?"

Of course, this is the exact action Godwin would take if it came to it. His priority was to secure a stable source of food for his people. The rest could come later. Godwin held his hands behind his back and continued, "I fear that it won't be long before we see an all new kind of war among our brothers and sisters, Mr. Myers. Station warfare, brought on by the scarcity... or perceived scarcity of resources among the last of Humankind. I never wanted things to come to this but I've decided to start preparing my own people for this inevitability. I think it would be in your best interest to do the same."

"Now, this may seem a bit drastic but... perhaps our stations could provide for each other a little more than we provide for the other stations, if they are even willing to cooperate like we are, that is. Now, I won't go into the details until we get a little further into our discussion but I'm very much interested in an arrangement that would completely ensure your safety from the other stations. So if they decide that they need a little more food or want to contribute a little less, it won't be so hard on your station... or mine."

Godwin suddenly cleared his throat, "Ah, I get ahead of myself. Like I said, we'll discuss it further later. Just keep the idea in mind, please."
