[Sebni]
Height: 5”8
Personal Information
Name: Sebni
Sex: Male
Age: Seventeen
Date of Birth: Eleventh of November
Appearance: He has white hair and intense white eyes. He will start his adventure in Thebes having somewhat established himself and will not have all too much much on him. In terms of clothing, he wears plain white clothes and refuses to wear footwear. Sometimes he can be seen donning his fancy weapons, which combined with what he looks like make him tantalizing in the eyes of common street criminals. One last thing to note is that he does have the Eye of Horus, and when he uses it, his eyes glow a bright yellow-gold.
Personality: Sebni is generally kindhearted, cheerful and even naive at times, yet how he can at the same time be wise and reserved is beyond words. He cares deeply for those who are close to him, and is grateful for his place in the world, even if luck has been down recently. That being said that doesn’t mean that he never complains, only that he’s happy that the events that transpired in his life didn't turn out any other way. He therefore has an appreciation for life, and though it seems counter-intuitive, but that is why he is a good assassin. Somebody who doesn’t appreciate life doesn’t value their own life, and somebody who doesn’t value their own life isn’t afraid to die, and those who aren’t afraid to die can be killed. The fact that he fears death certainly doesn’t mean that he is a coward either, only that he knows how to calculate risk.
Sebni, other than that, being an assassin, can at times be detached. He can appear distant or tense, and when he is rightfully so, he also did serve as the bodyguard of the Parthian Emperor for a brief time after all. He doesn't act like this often though, he only does this seriously when those he cares about are in danger. The ones he holds most dear, however were usually either well protected or able to protect themselves, though he acknowledges the fact that nobody is invincible, a fact that he knows all too well. This being said, when he seems to be distant, he is preparing his body and his mind, to kill those that would take away his friends, his family. He loved his friends and would've done anything to protect them. That is why he decided to become a magician, to gain power, and never let what happened in the past happen again.
Regarding the Eye of Horus, he doesn’t understand why he was given the gift. He was born in a distant part of a distant land and would most likely be dead if he hadn’t had the eye, and would have never became who he was today if he didn't have the eye either, if he would've been alive in the first place he probably would been a common slave. That being said he is very grateful towards Horus for giving him his gift. That is the reason why he chose Horus, it was because he bestowed upon him the gift that saved his life more than once. Despite all of this, he decided not to rely on the Eye of Horus, and decided to keep it a secret so far during his stay at Egypt, he didn't want to attract unnecessary attention.
Biography: Sebni was born somewhere in Eurasia to a young Scythian couple in a small Scythian tribe. He had odd features, even for a Scythian and when they found out that he was bestowed the gift, he was adored by the members of his tribe. When he was still an infant, his tribe had been living in the southern area of the land which the Scythians inhabited. It was a dangerous place, the Parthian Empire, which was located south of the Scythians, raided Scythian tribes for territory, and slaves. One day Sebni’s tribe was attacked and destroyed by the Parthian Empire, and when the commander of that Parthian detachment was informed that they found a child with the gift. He brought him directly to the Emperor. There Sebni essentially joined the royal family, and trained to be one of the next generation hands of the emperor, the highest ranking soldier, playing the roles of both royal guard and assassin. Though when he grew older he had extremely vague memories of his original family and was aware of his Scythian heritage, he did not hate the Parthians, the empire was his new home after all and he found a new family in the palace. He trained for many years, where he studied various religions, maths, sciences, literatures, histories, politics, military tactics and languages alongside the princes, princesses, future generals, and future hands. And with his fellow hands, he endured the most rigorous combat training that the Parthian empire had, modeled off the training Spartan soldiers of old received, but focusing more on single combat and speed, rather than strength and group fighting. He studied in such a diligent manner, building a unique comradery with his classmates, especially with his fellow hands who he endured that harsh training alongside.
By the time he completed his training and gained an apprenticeship to the most skilled of the current hands, the empire was in grave danger. There was tension between all of its neighbors. To the west, the Kingdom of Egypt and the Roman Empire, to the north the Nomadic Scythians, to the east, vast unexplored forests and mountain ranges and lastly to the south, the Syrians, Assyrians and Nomadic Arabs. Times were harsh, and the people suffered. Sebni was fairly close to the Emperor, and voiced his concerns about the people to him. The emperor usually shrugged this off, having more important things to worry about, such as foreign relations, potential conflicts and pesky diplomats. Sebni knew that he had to be understanding of the Parthian Emperor, he had his back to a wall, and snarling wolves on all remaining sides. He knew however that he needed to convince the emperor to gain the peoples’ support, or the Empire would fail, so Sebni pressed the issue for a few months. This did nothing, the stress had nearly driven the Emperor to insanity, and he was tired of being the emperor, when Sebni brought up the issue one time, the Emperor had an outburst, and their relationship deteriorated.
Soon afterwards, out of revenge for of years of raiding, the Scythian tribes to the north sought revenge. They sacked the capitol of the Parthian Empire, and though the invaders were eventually driven back, all of Sebni’s close friends died. This hurt him greatly, it was the first time he had felt despair. Soon after this in an unsightly display of emotion, he lost composure, and had an outburst directing his strife at the Emperor about how he needed to unite the people , manage the military and fix this country or step down. He went on and on about how the raids against the Scythians were essentially fruitless and this mess could've been avoided if he would've just left them be. The Emperor was of course infuriated by this and ordered one of his generals to arrest Sebni. Sebni easily escaped the city and eventually made his way to the Parthian city to the far west of the Parthian Empire, Damascus, where he spoke with a travelling magician, originating from Egypt. He lectured him on the various gods and goddesses and the different abilities that they provide, as well as explaining to him how ahk, the essence of life, works and telling him that the official name for his gift was the Eye of Horus. After that he was inspired to make his way to Egypt in order to learn about magic and essence manipulation. He did however fall into a stroke of bad luck. The night before, when he arrived in Damascus, he was extremely tired, and fell asleep, on a rooftop. Criminals cleaned him out completely, clothes, armor, money, supplies, his weapons were safe because he usually hides them, but it was still a major loss for him. He managed to get his hands on some basic garbs before he could be arrested by the city guard for public indecency. After that, he simply had to get to Thebes the hard way.
The trip took almost twenty days, and the rations he managed to acquire before setting off were barely enough, he was exhausted. Rest was not a luxury he had however. He took a few odd jobs and after a few days, he was able to rent a small room. From then on out he began to visit the fighting pits and the temple of Horus to train with Magic and essence manipulation. He was deeply intrigued by Horus and the many different types of magic that could be learned from his scriptures. He eventually chose one type that he could understand and required only a small amount of essence, augmentation magic, and even bought some scripture regarding it. At the fighting pits where he managed to make some side-money, he tried not to draw too much attention to himself there, but he eventually became a sensation. Unfortunately for him there was nobody who had that much knowledge on Essence manipulation aside from an enslaved gladiator that already had been sold off and is likely fighting in some other city. He did learn some of the basic essence manipulation techniques from this gladiator and eventually, after weeks of meditation, Incorporated his knowledge of the art into his bow, and successfully augmented its power. At this point he is living fairly comfortably. He has enough money to feed himself and pay taxes, as well as support his hobby of scripture. Life was going well and the young man began to lust for an adventure.
Magician: Yes
Deity: Horus
Equipment: He carries an ancient dagger, passed on to him by his mentor, the previous hand, who was killed when the Scythians sacked the Parthian empire’s capitol. The dagger originates from the time of the Macedonian Empire and is rumored to have belonged to Alexander the Great’s hand. It, like many high grade weapons, is infused with essence. Making it an extremely durable and extremely deadly weapon. He also carries a Scythian bow, taken from the Scythian warlord which he slayed during the Sacking of the Parthian Capitol. Though this weapon does not have any essence naturally infused in it, it is a legendary type of bow, created by a legendary Scythian craftsman for one of their highest ranking warlords, and is now in the hands of the Parthian assassin, Sebni.
Ability: Scythian Combat Archery: A technique that utilizes bows and arrows in close to mid-range combat, with different combinations of attacks utilizing his quick draw and reaction time, one archer proficient in this form of combat can take on multiple enemies at once fairly easily
Parthian Blade Works: A combat style developed in the Parthian Empire intended to be used with single or dual short blades or daggers. This combat style is taught to all of the Emperor’s hands and they are all extremely efficient in it. With this technique, agility and precision make up for the size of the blade and the lack of armor on the user.
Physical Augmentation based magic: Horus is the god of war, the sky and hunting. Therefore, one of the types of magic you can learn through scriptures of Horus is physical augmentation magic. With this someone can make themselves both faster, and stronger. For somebody who is already extremely fit, such as Sebni, it simply amplifies their deadliness.
Eye of Horus: A gift given to Sebni and a few others throughout the world. It allows them to see the essence of life that flows throughout the world.
Assassination Skills: the ability to stalk one’s prey, conceal ones presence, appraise threats, and deal with targets quietly. It seems simple, but only a few have mastered such techniques.
Palace Education: A vast array of knowledge obtained while studying in the palace of the Parthian Empire. Includes geography, history, math, religion, politics, literature, etc.
Basic essence manipulation: Learned alongside his magic, the ability to strengthen his body and his weapons with essence.
Spells/Techniques: Eyes of The Raptor: A magic spell that augments his vision. He can utilize it to either see vast distances or normally microscopic things.
Ears of The Raptor: A magic spell that augments his auditory senses. He can use it to either hear very miniscule sounds, or events occurring vast distances away.
Nose of The Raptor: A magic spell that augments his sense of smell. Simply makes his sense of smell more acute.
Speed of The Raptor: A Magic augmentation spell that augments his entire body. Increases his overall speed, agility and reaction time.
Essence Manipulation, Bow: just before he releases the bowstring, he augments the limbs of the bow with equal amount of essence to temporarily increase the bow’s poundage. This technique doesn’t require much essence because the augmentation is very brief, and doesn’t require much training either because you only need to manipulate the essense to form two small, equal masses of essence.
