I swung open the door to my room as I walked along humming, but once I stepped in I suddenly silenced. Hello there... I looked at the girl who had sprawled out on the left bed and already dozed off. It was the girl I had picked out as most likely being my bunkmate. Awh innocent little angel. I thought, as I watched her sleep for a moment. I knew it wasn't true, I chuckled, though she did look very personal lying there. Almost like I shouldn't have walked in. I narrowed my eyes and stepped back to the door, poked my head out and looked at our bunk number. I compared it with the number I had been assigned on the paper and they matched. At least I was in the right place.
I walked over to my bed, unzipped my duffle bag, and poured out its entirety of of neatly packed contents in a chaotic pile. I tapped my nose a couple of times and then turned to look back at the soundly resting Azurael. Such an opportunity to just let it go to waste. And yet I couldn't seem to come up with the right idea of how to mess with her. Usually it was difficult to get away with too much around military personnel, because they were used to sleeping with "one eye open" so to speak. I sat on the edge of my bunk watching her sleep as I pondered it.
I couldn't do anything very fun. Well, you could but it would probably get you thrown off the ship. But I could at least try to freak her out. I quietly tiptoed over to her bedside and knelt down on the floor, placing my elbows on the edge of the bed and resting my chin in my hands. I inched as close as I could to her face without getting close enough for her to feel my breath. Honestly, she was quite beautiful asleep. But my goal was just to make her a bit uncomfortable. I sat there patiently, with wide eyes, watching and waiting until she awoke.
