In the US, you can't really enter high school a year late - unless you were held back a grade in a prior year. There are truancy laws and all of that. Even kids who do trade school (like mechanical) - which is towards the junior/senior years of high school - they still attend regular class for half of the day and graduate on time.

Jerome stands at roughly six foot two, weighing in at roughly 185 pounds. His facial structure is defined by his jawline but also his decently sized nose. His muscles are well defined on his body. Hair wise he mainly keeps a small afro, while having a five o’clock shadow grow in on his face. As for any tattoo’s, he has one on his right bicep with the words “Anne and Douglas”, to pay homage for his dead parents.

Growing up the city, Jerome is no strangers to hardship. He grew up with his Uncle, who ran one of the biggest and well-known car dealerships in the city. They sold a mix of cars, from Mercedes to Honda’s but were known for being honest and well received in the city. His reason for growing up with his uncle was mainly since his mom and his dad were both drug addicts and had shady connections. His mother when Jerome was four overdosed on cocaine that was laced with a cutting agent in high quantities. While his father to this day serves a bid for first degree murder and armed robbery on a gas station near the outskirts, when he murdered a 42-year-old woman.
If you asked Jerome how he felt about the loss of both of his parents he probably would say it’s the best thing ever. His Aunt and Uncle treated Jerome like one of their own, helping him through school and mainly him becoming a man. They even set Jerome up in the car trade, Jerome works as a young “co-manager” to his Uncle’s car empire mainly since none of his cousins have the desire, all of them going onto their own career paths. Since then, Jerome has been strongly involved in helping his uncle’s enterprise and learning more about the trade. He took up football as simply a stress reliever but also a way to network with other people. He also picked up his dad's love of basketball and to pay homage to his mother, play's tennis and is one of the best player's at the tennis club
Jerome in his time at high school has established himself to be personality, taking after his uncle. Playing in various sports team like the tennis, football and basketball team to being in a variety of clubs from the book club to the mechanic/car club. At this time, he is also considering of doing a victory lap year before planning to head off to post secondary education/ trade school.

I got to pull my interest out, suffering a case of writer's block when it comes to trying to make a background story for my character, wish you all luck in this great roleplay though!
