Dave looked over when the older Renault approached and frowned. Surely this wasn't going to be pleasant, and his instincts were right. Everyone was going through hard times, but it was still common curtosy to excuse oneself before entering a conversation between two people. The elder man was about to scold her when Synthia shook her head. The Victorian girl allowing the ice minor to speak her mind while giving her her full attention. Only when she was quiet did Synthia speak.
"The mayor agrees completely. I came in his place because he is currently at a District meeting. Mr. Burgeouise and I just had a discussion with the Food Distribution Advisor of this district about it, you should expect a larger portion cut along with some extra side items to make a good meal." Synthias voice remained emotionless despite the friendly smile and polite manner in which she was speaking.
"Truth be told he's been embezzling over 600+ units of workers food rations. He's also taken 200 units of emergency dehydrated food from the Districts Correctional Unit. While we can't take him out of the upper world there is enough evidence to strip him of his title and power status. My guess he'll be shunned by the upper society for having such a dark mark on his record." Synthia shrugged disinterested in the mans problems. Greed, while being part of basic human nature, was not to be tolerated at the risk of people's health and job performance.
Dave nodded his approval at Synthias words, while keeping a poker face despite the twinge of fear that the blonde made him feel. He was glad he decided to remain in the Under City as a minor instead of having a higher up job in the Upper. For a simple man politics was not something he wanted to mess with. The young blonde brushed down her blue dress skirt, moving her parasol to her other arm.
"Sincerest apologies for the inconvience." The young blonde pulled a card from the back waist band of her dress. "This card will give you access to an Upper care facility. You and your sister can go get a medical examination there along with medicine to treat ailments that may arise due to problems with rapid weightloss and food issues..." The blonde titled her head as a thought occurred to her. "Actually, Dave please have your scheduler get a hold of me. Along with the scheduler for the Workers Union. Since portion cuts have been so extreme I'll have everyone examed by a class AA+ doctor."
Daves eyes widened in shock. Partially because she said it so casually. "B-but, does the district even have the funds for that?!" It's not that he was opposed to it, it was just that he didn't want to make things worse.
Synthia waved a hand. "Of course not. But the Ronehiem family has enough personal savings along with the aid of the McCallister family. Honestly it'll be as though we spent only five dollars.." Synthia shrugged. Money wasn't really a big deal for her and top grade medical care shouldn't be so hard for the common worker either. They were a new society that had some bugs to iron out and one thing both Synthia and her uncle ensured was that good medical care would be a want for no one. Wether they were an upper or a lower.
"The McCallisters? I've heard of them..but I've never seen them. I don't think anyone has actually. How'd you manage to pull off a feat like that?" Dave was now intrigued and not even his poker face could hide it. The McCallister family was the biggest conspiracy ever heard of and rivaled itself with the Illuminati Society. The McCallisters had funded the building of the Sanfranscico Dome but never revealed the identities of their family. Rumors flew from a new underground Monarchy to a Satanic Occult. They were considered Sanfranciscos ghost family.
Synthia just winked. "I have my secrets."
