Description

She is of average build, with a little bit of roundness due to the generous humans who pass by her block everyday. With a stump of a tail and yellow eyes that always seem unimpressed, she looks much like your everyday cat.
Personality

There’s nothing that lingers on her mind more often than food and humans – the two seem to go hand-in-hand most of the time. Luna’s a curious one, investigating anything and everything under the sun that catches her interest. If there’s a threat, she sees for herself if it’s worth the trouble to stand her ground. Some threats she runs away from, and others she stays and…hisses. She won’t take a swing or give chase unless provoked or her personal space is invaded. Unlike her dunce of a little sister, Luna’s not very trusting of strangers and keeps her distance from them. With a little food and time, however, she can be convinced to change her mind.
History

The middle cat in a family of four, the outdoor life is all she’s ever known. Her social circle is quite the limited one. There’s her mother, a small, feisty black cat; her quiet older-by-two-minutes brother, a near carbon copy of their mother but bigger and stockier; her little sister, a distracted, hyperactive, orange six-month-old tabby kitten; and her humans that stop by to indulge her. Her relationship with her mother is of mutual respect and she’s fine with it. If she stalks away in apparent disinterest every time her mother takes the time to actually greet her brother and maybe even groom him a bit, well, what did she have to stick around for? Let them do their lovey dovey stuff. She was satisfied with the vigorous pets she got from her favourite human.

Her somewhat terse relationship with her mother doesn’t affect her one with her brother, however. She’d consider them close – they play quite often and even if her brother’s tamer with his swipes than she is with hers, she enjoys their bouts. Her little sister? Luna‘s rather disdainful of her.

Every day, she looks forward to seeing her favourite human, the one who gave Luna her name.
Species Lore

In a time lost in history, cats were once said to have wings. It was an extension of their power, a physical manifestation of their superior blood – magic. They used to soar in the skies, hunting birds as they would mice, and using their magic to suit each their own needs. Their individual abilities ranged from the powerful, such as creating typhoons on a whim with their wings, to the whimsical, such as shedding their coat to grow an entirely different fur pattern. Magic for each cat can be different in subtle and outrageous ways and the cats have never questioned the what or how behind their blood.

Humans, however, did. As is in their nature, greed and curiosity had them hunting the cats – felling them from the skies with spears, then arrows, then guns. No matter where it was in the world, no matter what era humanity was in, they were determined to exploit or take apart something they did not fully understand except for its usefulness, and destroy it trying. The cats, intelligent as they were, did not fight back. Instead, they put away their wings and opted to stay on the ground, among the humans. And as the world crept into the present, the cats evolved – or perhaps, devolved, as some might say – and their wings are no more, their magic lying dormant beneath their skin. The humans, with their longer lifespans and short memories, soon dismiss the idea of flying cats as myths.

Perhaps there is the occasional rumour of a cat spotted in flight somewhere in the world, or the rare news of unethical scientists caught experimenting on cats. However, for the most part, there is an overall increased love for cats in the humans, a love for their cute meows, their furry faces, and, sometimes, themselves. 

Now, the world turns with only birds in the skies.

Abilities: Climbing trees and managing a swipe at a birds on the ground before mournfully watching it fly out of her reach. Perhaps there are other abilities Luna possesses, should the instincts of her ancestors be triggered by an unusual threat…

Weaknesses: Luna is about as fragile as your average cat. She can take some punishment and is pretty flexible, but she can bleed and break. Also, food bribery almost always wins her over and after a few attempts, she’ll be convinced that you’re her best friend (and food source).
