"Thank you," Kali replied as she focused on driving.
She had been astonished at the chaos that on the streets, passing numerous shops being broken into. The city's police were attempting to seize control of the situation, but Kali could only tell that it was getting worse every second. She hoped Liana had still been safe; if people were taking advantage of the chaos to loot, what would they do for priceless artifacts? Surely someone had to be stupid enough to think they'd make it rich lifting fossils or ancient pottery from the nearby museum.
"There," Kali pointed out as they neared the building, "Only a few more blocks and we're there."
Continuing down the road, Kali pulled the car over to the edge of the curb next to a squad car. Worried about the police presence, Kali hurriedly shut off the car and raced up the steps of the building. Before Kali could reach the door, however, she noticed a group of figures inside the lobby, with one of them moving towards the lobby doors.
"Wait!" She called out the stranger, hoping that Liana was with them. "Don't lock it yet!"
Alexis "Lex" Karczewski

It was safe to say that Lex was wholly underprepared.
Uncertainty wracked her train of thought. Sure, keeping the peace, ensuring no one stole things—all part of the job description. But a city-wide evacuation? Reports of attempted cannibalization? For as much (or perhaps little, depending on how you looked at it) she made, things were beginning to go way beyond her paygrade. Still, Lex had a job to do. She wasn't about to abandon her post, nor the staff and visitors now in her care. Even if Lex had felt uneasy, she had to weather, well, whatever this chaos had been.
"Right," Lex acknowledged with a nod, being ordered to check on everyone and to ensure their safety by one of the officers that had arrived earlier at the museum. "Will do."
Turning heel, Lex made her way to the nearest group of people—a woman, who had been introducing herself to another.
"Everything alright?" Lex asked, glancing first at the short-haired brunette, and then to the other woman who she now knew as Liana. "No one hurt or anything? I think I have some cash lying around for the vending machine if anyone is hungry."
