I'm the Karrem Abdul-Jabbar of high tier sparring. I'm just going to deny your fancy reality manipulating powers every time and take you back to school with the basics.

You absorbed all of my powers so now let's see you absorb my fist with your face.

Okay, but here's the thing, you are prioritizing your opinion over his comfort. That's rude.
Also what's a Tantalum?
You could be of the opinion that I am a dog in real life.

You would be objectively wrong because I have stated many times in the past that I am a cat in real life.

You may like dogs, you may love dogs, and imagining me as a dog may increase your opinion of me. But I am a cat and I hate dogs and it is insulting to be called a dog.

I have no way of stopping you from calling me a dog beyond letting you know that it's not cool to call cats dogs.

That's an absurd scenario I felt like sharing but if you don't understand how an opinion can be insulting regardless of intent then I think you can at least understand the concept of respecting his wish not to be called an edgelord in public. You are prioritizing your opinion over his comfort and that's not nice.
What part of it doesn't make sense?
You are welcome to have an opinion but when you mislabel someone with that opinion you are insulting them.
Because you're wrong. By way of being wrong you are not only missing the point of the character you are devaluing(and insulting) the work that Nega put into it.

And yes, I can confirm his displeasure with being referred to as an edgelord.
A demon is edgy.

A cyber demon is campy.

A cyber demon that rides a space motorcycle and consumes souls is amazing.

Edgy characters are meant to be taken seriously. They're characters that the player wants you to be terrified of because of how real they are man. Gore, mutilation, death, and rape are all tools the edgelord loves to employ but are ultimately pointless without some form of emotional investment and when halfassed writers throw them out like charity they become lame. This is the hallmark of the edgelord.

Resolution is as far from that as you can get. He's an awesome character yes, but the inherent ridiculousness of the concept backed by Nega's skill as a writer are what make him awesome, if you're approaching him the same way you'd approach late-00's Batman movie you're completely missing the point of the character. He's early-90's Batman and is awesome because he sees your grit and he jumps over it with a motorcycle while hollering at the top of his lungs. Even in character Resolution isn't exactly serious, grabbing someone's phone doesn't change that, my little sister does that all the time and it's not edgy so much as annoying.

It's the difference between Devil May Cry and Resident Evil. The later wants you to revel in it while the former wants you to laugh at it.
That's cool, he's not an edgelord though, his character doesn't act edgy and hellectricity is more campy than anything else. You're stereotyping him because he comes from hell and stereotyping is bad.
Do I consent to a fight in a thread labeled World of War within the Arena right after hitting someone over the head with a glass mug?

That's a silly question and I'm not going to answer because it sounds like a trick. Do what you like and I shall react accordingly.
Note that a character concept does not actually define the character's personality.
