Hey! Welcome to the guild @AjaxNightshade, glad to see someone interested in learning forum based rpg. The most important thing is to remember to have fun! You can always ask for help and people will usually answer and help you out. Depending on your writing level (length and detail), you should start by checking the Free, Casual, Advanced and 1x1 role play sections, which you can find by scrolling down the front page. You'll see two different things for each section: the actual section where all the roleplays or rps are, and the "interest check". There you'll see advertisement of ideas people have for rps, and you can even make your own if you want to run an rp instead of joining one.

We also have an out of character section for general talks which you can also find in the front page, and a discord server where people hang out in real time. The button to join the server is at the top of the front page.

Most people on the guild are nice and will help you out. Come say hi in the chat! Lemme know if you have any more questions.
Don't be too hard on yourself. This is a good site with lots of wonderful people. I hope you have fun. Most people will answer any questions you may have. We also have a discord server if you feel like chatting.

CARON

The man seemed confused at Dorian's answer, as he saw what he said as a positive thing. "What do you mean Dorian, I meant that as a compliment!" His face was one of a lost child that didn't understand why their parents were mad they said something wrong. "But yeah, the sight of John in a wedding dress was one I didn't need and now it's burned in my eyes forever. But Dorian took pictures in case you're interested, Jules."

He continued munching his cookie while Jules talked about how Dorian didn't seem to age. Of course, he had his own questions about it, and his own speculations, but he didn't like to think about it too much. No one at the Agency seemed to be able to know for sure why she didn't age. They had old pictures on file of girls that look exactly like her, which could just mean she is a doppelganger, but that wouldn't explain why she didn't age.

She decided to drop that subject, even if she still thought he could do something good and gently let the students know they're thoughts are wrong. When he asked that she lift her gaze from the book, genuinely curious about why he had chosen her. She was surprised, that wasn't the answer she was waiting for. "I'm not letting anything get in my way." After Luke's murder she focused on her studies even more, telling herself and everyone else it was her way of coping with it, that she was trying to keep busy and not let depression and tragedy consume her, but it was more than that. She wanted to find Aleister.

"Do you have any theories about it? About what kind of creature it could be?"
CARON

"I think you'd have better luck extracting a DNA sample from a rabid werewolf on steroids than from Dorian, Jules," Caron said while he stuffed his mouth with yet another cookie. "You fould try one of thefe cookies, Julef."

He felt his phone vibrating in his pocket and reached to see. Oh, no. That was the last thing Jemma needed. Now she'd be the victim of this maniac she'd been complaining about for the past few weeks. After everything she went through, she didn't deserve to be this guy's student. "I'm very sorry to hear that. Do you want to hang out with us at Flogging Molly?"

JEMMA

"Yes, I know their ideas about cryptids are stupid, but you're being insensitive and irresponsable." Her face turned even redder and her brows drew together. Couldn't he realize the power he had? "Instead of calling her an idiot, you could've explained how vampires are dangerous and that the Hollywood version of them is a real threat to society. You could've talked about the Kiss Coult and other worshipping societies. Don't you realize she's exactly the kind of victim that ends up dead in an alley because of this? You could be making our jobs easier instead of creating more victims."

She paused for a moment and itched her head, lowering her glaze. "I'm sorry, that was out of place." Clearing her throat, she continued in a lower voice. "I work during the day, sometimes at odd hours too, but I should be able to help you with your research." Not just help, but she was kind of relieved that it was mainly what her roll as his assistant was. Between work and school, she didn't have a lot of time left, but the time she did have was spent grieving and she was tired of hurting. This was a welcome distraction.

"I do have your email, I'll send my research to you right now," she said, taking her phone off.

"I'm actually ok right now," was the message she sent back to Caron before emailing the Professor.

"Is that what you're current interest is? The Old Blood religion? I never got too much into it, I mainly know it exists but nothing more than that. Vampires don't usually like other cryptids' blood, so it's surprising they follow the existance of this one really old cryptid."

Thanks Starmie, much appreciated. Id like to ask if there's a way to change the color theme of the forum to something lighter?

I don't believe there is, unfortunately. I'm sorry about that.

She was pleased to hear he would find another nickname for her as she did not want to be called "coffee girl". "With all due respect, you do bully your students, Professor O'Callaghan," her face turned red as she said that, but she figured if she was to survive this assistance business she would have to stand up for herself. "I can email you my research right now. I did focus a lot on vampires, but I also did some research on sucubus and other sentient cryptids." She took the book from his hands and started browsing it while listening. "No questions so far."
Her eyebrows raised in surprise. "No, I didn't. I wasn't expecting to spend any more time here, I was just going to go home." But she welcomed this. It was something she was passionate about, plus it kept her mind from wandering to dark places. "I'm usually quiet in class, but it doesn't mean I'm not listening. My view of vampires is that they're complex creatures that need further understanding still. There's something fascinating about how they lose their touch with reality and their humanity over time. All vampires have a lust for human blood so they immediately start losing touch with us, but there's more to that. Because they used to be human, it's intereting to see how their personalities change over time, causing them to frequently become egotistical and obsessed. That's why things like the Kiss Cult exist, some vampires truly believe they're the real gods and deserve to be worshipped like that."
Hey, welcome to the guild! I'm sure you'll find a place for you amongst our threads. People are nice, so feel free to ask any questions you may have. We also have a discord server where we hang out, so feel free to join us.

The brunette lowered her eyes when he called her coffee girl. Maybe she shouldn't, but she took offense to that. But she was surprised when he said she passed, usually she gets a strong negative reaction to her coffe making skills. Not that she could understand why, to her she made the best coffee and she couldn't understand why people hated it.
Jemma was not anticipating spending the rest of the night in Professor O'Callaghan's office. She looked around for the first time, surprised that the office was actually so cozy. She did what he told her and took a sit in one of the armchairs, finding it comfortable. Not too soft, not too firm. Her backpack found a place out of the way on the floor, next to the chair. She turned back to the teacher, listening to what he was saying.
"Oh. I'm sorry. No, this speed is fine." She didn't notice she had been staring at the man. "It's just... This is my field. I majored in Behavioral Science first, and my research is about applying that knowledge to cryptids. So this is my territory. That's why I'm studying folklore now. I find it fascinating how they behave and act, especially sentient cryptids like hematophagous. May I ask why the interest in this?"
