Character Name: Jaydrah Traestar
Aliases: "The Noble Lady", "The Beautiful Mistake"
Sex|gender: Female
Race: Human
Appearance:
Distinguishing features: A pair of revolvers tattooed on her right shoulder
Age: 23
Occupation: The daughter of a lesser noble, Jaydrah spent her days amidst the nobility, kissing rings and bowing to those of higher social status. Her father's wealth was not enough that she could rise above her station, but enough that she could live comfortably. As a child, she was interested in acting and the theater, so she spent most of her youth learning how to be someone else, and look like someone else.
Jaydrah took up as a thief. But not the common street cutpurses. Rather, she was a woman of confidence. She would charm her way into the hearts of others, and then rob them blind.
Crime: 5 Counts of Grand Larceny (totaling over 30,000 Algrian Marks), 17 Counts of Bribing an Officer of the Peace, 12 Counts of Impersonating a Public Official.
Starting Equipment: 2 revolvers manufactured by Tressian Arms, two thigh holsters and ammunition, and a bandolier of throwing daggers.
Personal Items: A ring given to her by her father. It is a simple platinum band with no markings. She has a pair of ivory handled revolvers that were given to her for her 16th birthday, but she hid them before she was arrested.
Personality: Jaydrah is a take-no attitude woman, raised in a household where she was expected to carry her weight with chores, and later with work. Her driving principle is to take from those who have too much and give it to those who have too little. Sometimes that's the poor and needy, sometimes its her.
Character Quest: Jaydrah loves the thrill of the game, the adrenaline that pumps through her veins as she's on the edge of a massive score. She wants to embarrass the upper nobility and show them that they are not the untouchables that they think they are. Above all, she wants to retire from a life of crime with a comfortable fortune and no need to ever work a day in her life. But before that, she wants to find out who betrayed her and led to her arrest.
Bio: Jaydrah is always looking for an angle to play. She has trained herself to adjust her voice to mimic accents from other territories and social levels, and has some skill as a scribe -- though she is in no way a professional forger. She has made friends in the wrong places and can leverage those relationships for supplies and information if given the chance.
RP Example:
Jaydrah rubbed her thumb on the wooden handle of the revolver on her right hip. It was cheap and coarse, mass-produced for profit and not comfort, but it was a welcome weight on her hip. Someday, she'd retrieve the ivory handled pistols her father had given her for her sixteenth birthday, but these would do for now. They were reliable and accurate, and they were a symbol that she was free. For now.
Seven years of schemes and thieving had ended in iron. She wondered, in this brief moment of calm, where she'd slipped up. It hadn't even been her most devious con, nor her most promising score. She stood to make a few hundred marks off of an investment deal that didn't exist. One minute she was taking the signed promissory note, and the next a dozen Royal Police were all around her. She had played the con over and over in her mind and come to the same conclusion: someone had sold her out.
Her circle of friends was small. She bought her supplies in small bits, from different merchants and street sellers. There were few who knew of her ... endeavors. Now she was a marked woman; she'd never walk free again without looking over her shoulder. She would have to remake herself before she hunted down the traitor, but hunt them down she would.
