Hey, here's an offer to anyone interested: want to play each other's villains? I have room for a secondary character, and we're a little sparse on villains. If someone wanted, we could make personalized villains for each other's main characters - make the universe feel a little bigger. I think it'd be fun for our heroes to have their own little rogue's galleries, and I wouldn't want to play my own character's personal villain because then I'd be RPing with myself every time they interacted.
so we're limited to what archetypes are available? How can people have multiple characters when it's first come first serve?
My understanding is that it's not first come first serve, but a spread of archetypes might be ideal - so we can have more than one demigod, for example, but demigods might not be accepted if we have plenty of demigods and other stuff is lacking.
Powers: In addition to the demihuman strength, speed, and reflexes you would expect from an aelf, even one cursed to a mortal existence, Roisin is a master of archery and bladework. His heritage grants him power over frost and ice - he can buffet foes with chill winter winds, imbue his arrows to freeze them where they stand, sprint across water by freezing it underneath his feet, and so on.
Weaknesses: Like all his kind, Roisin is burned by the touch of cold iron - contact with it is incredibly painful, and even proximity is enough to sap his strength. He is also drained by prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or excessive heat; he can still function, but it'll tire him out quickly.
Imagine that with a more dour expression and a hood he can pull up, and that's basically it.
BRIEF Bio: Roisin is an aelf - an ancient fey race, old when humanity was young, dwelling invisible to them in a realm called the Yonderwild, a magical dimension of untold beauty and terror. For millenia, the aelves tormented mankind from the deep places in the woods - hunting them for sport, enslaving them, appearing as capricious gods and demanding cruel and bloody sacrifice, and none questioned it, for this was the way the powerful behaved to the strong. As mankind matured, the aelves fell into legend, myths of cruel sprites or bloodthirsty gods, bedtime stories to frighten children - yet the kidnapping, the hunting, never stopped.
Roisin is an elder aelf, the son of Queen Medeeara herself. By her immortal will, he and his three siblings were made royalty of the seasons - and he, the most solemn and sober child, became Prince of Winter. He served at his mother's behest and executed her will for millenia, complicit in the cruelty of the court and the torture of the humans, until a chance encounter with a human slave led him to a moral awakening. Overwhelmed with guilt and sorrow and seeing for the first time the wickedness of his people, Roisin vowed to redeem himself for his part in their evil, freeing every slave in the Aelf Queen's palace and battling against his siblings to cover their escape. Ultimately, they proved too strong for him, and as punishment for his defiance, Roisin was banished to the mortal realm, his immortality stripped away. This proved to be their mistake - for as soon as his strength was recovered, he vowed that the secret terror inflicted on humanity by his kin would be ended, and his shadowy war began.
Now, two long years later, he lives as Ronald O'Leary, curator of a local art museum, specializing in antiques. At night, however, he stalks the rooftops as Huntsman, the protector of humanity from all entities, Aelf or otherwise, that would cross over into their world to do them harm.
Potential Storylines: 1. Roisin learns to fit into human society better, work as a team. 2. Roisin's siblings attack on the summer solstice, when he is weakest, forcing him to seek the help of other heroes. 3. Roisin leads an invasion into his homeland for some noble purpose. 4. Roisin learns to respect the others, value humanity more completely rather than as a pet. Notes: Nothing comes to mind!
Name: Morgana Pendragon / Morgan Persington Alias: Many-Faced Witch, Black Witch, Sorceress Supreme of the Arcane Winds Age: 25 (~2500+)
Powers: Morgan is a master wizard and magician - having control over the four elements (air, water, earth, fire) and mastery of the arcane arts. Ranging from illusion to alchemy. Due to her age, she has had a lifetime of learning to master many magical arts.
Weaknesses: Due to her age, Morgan has been forced to 'adopt' several faces behind artificial masks. As she is still human, she is unable to remember everything and thus requires time to 'remember' spells and tricks from ages past. Thus something that she may have learned during the Victorian Age may not be recalled immediately by her in the modern age. Thus, whenever she needs to utilize more 'complex' spells - she needs time to meditate and recall them or more time to cast them.
BRIEF Bio: Morgan Persington on the outside seems like the typical college girl, with an interest in old history and mythology. In secret, she is one of the many personalities of Morgana Pendragon - the legendary magi and witch of King Arthur. In truth, Morgana Pendragon had been a good friend and ally of King Arthur - during times where magic was slowly fading away and many saw the inevitable end of Camelot and the potential loss of all history and culture of that time.
Morgana had been chosen to carry on the 'Arcane Winds' - a magical essence, that contained the knowledge and wisdom of several countless wizards and druids of the time. In doing so, Morgana became ageless - although, as the times wore on, her duty became harder and harder as age wore out her mind and will - all the while her body remained untouched by the sands of time. Thus, Morgana Pendragon forged the first mask and would continue doing so for several centuries.
Being a wandering hermit in one life, settling down with a family in another, even hunted as a witch in some others - while helping to change history or help out 'heroes and kings' in another. Thus throughout the ages, she would wear different personalities - each one having a masked carved for them by the 'last' wearer. This has lead to the current persona, Morgan Persington to assume that the variety of masks she has 'collected' are her past lives and not herself per say. Though like many other personalities - she has remained the loyal and steadfast to those whom are her friends.
Potential Storylines: Discovering her alternative personas and trying to unravel the mystery and ultimate goal set out by Morgana Pendragon.
Notes: Dunno yet.
... Dammit.
Fair play, I will come up with a non-wizard character. My fault for dragging my feet on the CS.
EDIT: Just had a flash of inspiration for a demigod character. I like him a bit better than the wizard I was working on, so it's all good!
