Name: Zin Jakur

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Nomadic or sedentary: Sedentary Nomad. Moves when necessary.

Weapons (Don't go crazy): M24 Sniper Rifle, Two razor-sharp daggers with black leather grips and black blades.

Skills: Having been using them for some time, Zin is very proficient with his weapons. In addition, he can move with a high degree of stealth. When he chooses, his footfalls are silent and his motions difficult to notice. His fingers are deft from a lifetime of thieving and he's an expert pickpocket. He can pick most locks with a bobby pin and a needle.

Any unusual traits? Does it show physically?: Zin can blend in with his surroundings when moving under the cover of shadow. Even if one were to look directly at him they wouldn't notice unless they shined a light directly onto him.

Brief Personality: Quick-witted and brash, Zin has a sharp retort for just about everything. He's prone to sneaking up on people but hates it when people sneak up on him. He's rather jumpy and nervous, from a lifetime of never being safe from more than a night. He's mistrustful of everyone, and never seems to be able to put down his guard.

Background: Currently in the ruins of New York City.

Zin's parents died from the missiles. His older brother took care of him and they joined up with a thieving gang who made use of his older brother's sneaking skills. When a mission went wrong, Zin's brother used to take his anger out on him. Zin got used to being beat as a child. In fact, many members of the crew started taking their anger out on Zin. Even the ones he liked, that he thought he could trust, betrayed him by beating him. He suffered through it all, telling himself that with every hit he would only grow stronger.

Eventually, a job went wrong and Zin's brother died in it. That night, Zin got the worst beating of his life from the crewleader. The next morning, Zin ran away. He ran for what felt like forever before he stumbled upon an elderly couple. They fed him, clothed him and then used him to break into a food supply. They promised him 1/3 of the food, but then ran away with all of it. They too betrayed him. He vowed to never trust anyone again.

Zin lived on the streets by himself for the next several years. He stole clothes, food, water, weapons, pretty much everything he could to keep himself alive. His only goal was survival and his only skills were stealing. Eventually, Zin ran into another thieving crew. It had been so long since he was betrayed by the elderly couple, he decided to trust someone again. The new crew used him, betrayed him, and left him alone again.

For the last two years, Zin has been traveling alone. Resolved to never trust anyone. He acquired his weapons by scavenging and stealing.

Alone or with someone?: Alone

"You mean the priest who kicked my butt? I met him in grand style! HA! I haven't been whooped so badly since a friend turned out to be a backstabbing son of a b***h!" Kelin roared with a grin. He clutched his stomach with his left arm, as if that would somehow help his innards heal. His other hand held a cold chocolate milkshake on the table before him. It felt like his entire body ached of pain, he barely had the strength to keep himself sitting straight in his chair.

Kelin turned to the nearest Cafe worker "I'm going to need more food. Lots of it. Preferably three or four whole chickens." He frowned slightly, looking around at the Cosplay Cafe. He wasn't sure if they served anything other than drinks and pastries. "If you have it." he added quickly. "If not, I suppose a few double chocolate fudge cakes will do. Hmm Yes! Forget the chicken! Bring on the fudge! Oh and I'd love a couple more milkshakes." As if to amplify this point, Kelin tipped his head back and guzzled down what was left of his milkshake without using the straw. "Oof." he said shivering "Brain Freeze."

Whoops, already posted @Kol . I'll just edit out that last paragraph so that they're on their way to the Cafe rather than already there.
Kelin didn't like being ordered around. But he could see the good sense in what the woman was saying. "I wish you the best of luck in your battle!" He shouted, turning to go. "As if you'll need it. HA!" he added, seeing Yuuma make quick work of at least three Hounds. The last exclamation was not one of laughter, but wry amusement and confidence that the three companions he left behind could handle themselves. He turned quickly, and lunged back through the entryway and into the normal world. He didn't like having the sounds of battle to his back, he was not a coward nor a deserter. But some things were more important than his pride.

The world took on it's usual hues. A familiar blast of an assortment of colors briefly shocking his pupils. They quickly adjusted however as he dashed towards the Cafe. The boy rested in his iron arms, one arm tucked in the crook of the boy's knees and the other cradling his shoulders and neck. He felt a cold breeze on his left leg-the one he had used to kick the hounds. He looked down to see the pants leg in tatters and splattered with blood. They must have tried to rip at it when he kicked them. His skin however hadn't been pierced. The blood was likely from the rather messy deaths of the Youkai he had witnessed. Kelin shifted his gaze, trying to asses the damage done to the boy. Alas, there was a lot of blood splattered from the Hounds and he could not tell how much of it was the boy's. Kelin kept running.
Kelin barely had time to react as the Fox zipped past him. He frowned slightly. He seemed to be the slowest one around. He didn't give himself much more time to think, leaping forward and helping the fox which appeared to be an ally. He grabbed a Hell Hound by the jaws, his iron skin preventing it's sharp teeth from doing any real damage in the few moments it took Kelin to take advantage of his enhanced strength to fling the dog up into the air. At the same time, he used one of his other powers-that of Gravity-to make the dog go soaring upwards. To the Hell Hound, gravity now pulled him upwards. From experience, Kelin knew his power would run out eventually. The dog would keep falling upwards for close to fifteen minutes, before it finally came crashing down.

Kelin next threw a leg into the midst of bodies to sweep as many Hell Hounds as he could away. Two more of them were caught in this blow, pushed forcefully to the side. Other hounds moved forward quickly to assume their place in the attack. But it gave Kelin the moment he needed to pick up the small child and shield him in his arms.
Kelin watched the strangest procession of people move about the Cafe as he ate his Chipotle while standing outside. First, a man with dreadlocks and a blood-soaked woman appeared almost as if out of thin air. But surely, it was just a trick of the light. Next, a young child pressed his face to the glass of the cafe as if peering inside then darted away quickly. The man standing in the doorway appeared to have pulled his spine out of his back. Kelin shook his head from awe and more than a little bemusement. Chasers were a weird bunch. But, so too am I

Kelin finished his meal and was throwing the foil into a nearby garbage can when he heard the blood-curdling scream of a young child echo in the alleys of the town. A blur of a man raced out of the Cafe and ran down a side street. Kelin barely had time to recognize him as Yuuma, a fellow chaser, before instincts took over and he followed the man. Kelin quickly fell behind as Yuuma seemed to run far faster than any average man should be able to. Cursing softly, Kelin started turning his skin to Iron and felt the accompanying rush of strength and speed. It felt good, oh so very good, to use his powers.

Kelin started to catch up to the man in front of him, intent on following the source of the screams. He could see a convenience store ahead, it sounded as if they should be getting closer to the source but still Kelin could see no one who appeared to be in any danger. But then Kelin heard a sound, interwoven with the child's noises, a ghastly howling. A familiar howling. Cursing with recognition, the man yelled up to Yuuma in front of him "It's coming from the Crimson!"

Kelin racked his mind for places nearby from where one could enter the Crimson World but he wasn't familiar with this area and knew of no-Everything turned red. He had stumbled upon an entryway. There, just ahead lay a child with what looked like a pack of Youkai Hounds eager to rip into him.

Hella interested! This looks awesome! I appreciate the detail
Kelin Jakur was in the middle of eating a meal at Chipotle that looked large enough for three people when he heard the music. It was an absolutely massive burrito made from no less than three tortillas, two pounds of chicken, and one whole cup of Guacamole. Needless to say, when Kelin picked up the burrito to take his first bite it disintegrated into it's multi-layer foil wrapping. Only a little disappointed, Kelin had grabbed a fork and dug in. Now, he was walking to the cafe while eating out of a giant improvised foil bowl of Mexican cuisine. Humming lightly to the familiar tune of the Chaser music, Kelin stuffed another massive quantity of food into his mouth. I'm going to be late again...Well, this food is worth it

The large man wore a loose full-sleeved black shirt with a slight v-neck. The soft, cotton fabric flapped in the wind. It mirrored the activities of his similarly-colored hair which was longer than Kelin usually kept it. He was due for a haircut. A 5-o-clock shadow marred his usually clean-shaven face, accenting the strength of his jaw and contrasting against his brightly colored eyes. Their light brown sparkled with a hidden love for mischief and trickery.

Finally arriving at the Cafe, Kelin noticed an unfamiliar person standing in the doorway in front of him. Frowning slightly, he stood a few feet behind the man, peering over his shoulder at what looked like a Cafe filled with more Chasers than he had ever seen in one place. What is going on...?
I don't believe you HAVE to but it's strongly recommended because of the high frequency with which characters will die.
