Alright, thank you.

<Snipped quote by Stratocracy>

Why do they call them Vile Waters?

Well, the name used to be different. But it's because of the corruption, or blight, as you called it, spreading into the southern seas. It's the one place we haven't been able to restrict its spreading to. Eventually, all the water might become the Vile Waters.

i saw the map but may not have looked at it that much

Here it is again. Location is more important here than it usually is for other things, so it's probably nice to have on hand.
<Snipped quote by Stratocracy>

Is Glask near the blight, as it were?

It's right on the coast of the Vile Waters, yes. About as close as you'll get to it.
<Snipped quote by Stratocracy>

I think so.

Alright then. I'll let you know when we're there. Help yourselves if you want, and feel free to rest up if you need it. It'll be a couple of hours.
<Snipped quote by Stratocracy>

I guess politics is probably the same here.
*Gets in the back*

*The back of the ship is very spacious, much like a large, more circular RV. It has basic appliances food and water, couches chairs, and beds. Once everyone is in, the doors close*
So, to Glask, yes?
<Snipped quote by Stratocracy>

It just seems like if there's only one destination, it only makes sense to have a single service doing it. But maybe I'm missing something.

The logic is really just, is it really right to deny people the right to transport themseleves? Oh, here's mine.
*We arrive at a very standard looking ship, slightly smaller than most of the others, but still large enough to fit each of us dozens of times over. I press a button on a device and two doors open, one in the front and one in the back*
You all can hang out in the back if you want. Only two seats up front.
<Snipped quote by Stratocracy>

If they all go to the same place, why isn't everything public transport?

Public transport is an option, but it's nice to have your own means of transportation if you can. Just like anywhere else, I'd imagine.
Yo @Mammalia. Did you see the map? I just realized you weren't there when I put it up, and it'll help a but with understanding some things, probably.
<Snipped quote by Stratocracy>

Wouldn't this end up kind of like a labyrinth though?

Not really. There are only paths to the main cities, and then two gates to the seas. One really close by, and the other in Glask. Oh, and there is one that goes south of here too. To the Tzagat Temple.

<Snipped quote by Stratocracy>

Are we flying underground?

Yup. That's the plan.
<Snipped quote by Stratocracy>

So citizen travel is monitored by the government?

Not immensely. It's more along the lines of, if some kind of accident occurs here, it is definitely seen and help gets dispatched. If someone crashes in the woods east of here, hundreds of miles from the nearest city, it may be too late before anyone even knows you need help.
