Bio

My Character Sheets | Santa Somabra | Maximum Comics | Verthaven | These roleplays are from roughly 2 years ago.

Hello all! I'm an Advanced RPer. I've been RPing for quite a while now...since I was a kid. I'm expecting a Bachelors in English this coming May (don't ask how; my skill as a creative writer has taken a seemingly irreparable blow after an encounter with major depression) as well as a minor in Psychology. I am an avid animal lover, photographer, and writer. I do a restricted amount of dabbling in drawing and painting.

About two years ago, I stopped using RP guild. It was for a myriad of reasons, but the topmost ones are major depression, the passing of my parrot (pictured as my banner at the top of my bio), and a relationship issue.

I'm back now!

Roleplaying always kept me at the top of my literate game. My vocabulary took a huge blow during my depression, and I'm eager to refine it. I've spent the last two years fixing my life, and I'd love for roleplaying to be an active part of my daily routine again!

Types of literature I'm interested in (in order of interest):
-Adult Fiction
-Science Fiction
-Fantasy
-Thriller
-Manga

My general interests and hobbies:
-Reading
-Writing
-Animal Welfare and Rights
-People Welfare and Rights
-Drawing (Amateur)
-Video Games
-Photography

Interest! Great! So far what all of you have suggested are pefect ideas for characters. I've created a lawyer so we WILL need at least one character with some gun experience. Hopefully Ravens character can do such.

About two more people and I'll put up the IC.
THE WALKING DEAD: Survival

Note, I've had this idea laying around for a long while, and I'm just popping it in the IntChk to see if it'll get anywhere. There are a few TWD rps going on already, one of which I'm involved in, so I won't be surprised or too upset if this doesn't get enough attention. Still, I thought it was worth more in the Interest Check, rather than just laying around in my drafts all day.

This is a High Casual rp

BREAKING NEWS

It sounds from radios and flashes on television screens everywhere across the continent of North America. The news hasn't reached Mexico yet, much less the rest of South America. Countries oceans away live in darkness, unaware of what's heading for them, or maybe what's already there.

It's devastating, horrifying.

It's impossible.

The letters, the words, they pop out at the American audience screaming silently the downfall of the world's superpower.

BREAKING NEWS: New Super-Disease Sweeps across America Claiming the Lives of Thousands

A blonde woman with the teeth of a goddess appears on the screen. A reporter, in a stiff, starchy, grossly beige suit. Those dark brown eyes echo the fear of the world. She's speaking, but between your utter shock and her average looks its hard to concentrate.

"It seems, Richard," she's talking to a newsroom reporter, addressing him by his name, "that a new super-disease or super-virus has struck, not just the American public, but Canada as well. The APHA (OC: American Public Health Association) has theorized it to be some new super form of a strain of bornavirus. The details of obtaining the virus thus far remain unclear, however it has been noted to cause intense fever and dementia among victims. And also..." Those big brown eye blink with the pain of a martyr. Then she breaks character and lets the beans spill, "I'm not supposed to say this...the government says I'm not supposed to...but the American public deserves to know. This virus...this disease...It's bringing people back to life Richard. Corpses...and they are killing people. My best friends dead grandmother woke up from her funeral box this morning and tried to eat her-"

Her lips are still moving, but it's hard to concentrate past the 10,000 pound elephant that she just dropped in every house across America.

Your world as you know it is about to come to an abrupt end and it's going to take everything you have in you to survive it.
Right now, I am looking for a max of eight roleplayers. I will only accept more after our first group is established, if I want a second group introduced.

PLOT:
This is a Walking Dead survival rp, meaning it will focus on our characters surviving throughout the post-apocalyptic world of the outbreak. Keep in mind, survival does not mean your character has to stay alive.

At your own discretion, you can very well kill your character and add a new one. However, I am not making it mandatory that your character must die. The rp will primarily focus on the character surviving in the subsequent months after the outbreak, and eventually, finding a cure. However, I intended for this rp to go on a while, so it will have many plots, and be open to plots from any participants :)

The rp will begin in Atlanta, very much like the series itself, and will start about three days after the outbreak begins. It is about mid-October, so it is cold. There will be daily (or sometimes daily) updates from our lovely blond reporter, and our characters will group together to survive. Along the way, they will encounter similar more antagonistic characters and groups.

This rp asks for mature non-stereotypical rpers. I don't want this rp to be filled with pseudo-Carl's and pseudo-Daryl's. I don't want everyone to be from the military or a cop (though one or two from those groupings are certainly welcome), or from some other badass background. I want diversity. Not every survivor has to be a badass, and realistically, how realistic is that??? People get lucky. We see it all the time in real life. We see it all the time in the series itself. From the top of my head:

  • Carol = housewife

  • Maggie = lived on a farm all her life

  • Glenn = pizza delivery boy

  • Andrea = Lawyer (t.v. series), Clerk

What I really want is variety. Think up unique but everyday characters. I want people to start out, not thinking "what characters will I be able to seduce with mine" or "how badass should my character be", but with diversity and realism. Like, "oh shit, my character's only a pizza delivery boy, how is that going to make it harder and more interesting in terms of survival?" That's all I'm asking you to keep in mind if you apply to this rp.

DO NOT PUT APPLICATIONS IN THE INTEREST CHECK
This is simply for your use, so that if you intend to join, you may begin on an application straight away.

I work 12 hour shifts on Fridays and Saturdays. Callum is still in shock but I was going to post his thought process. If you want to move him along with you guys I can just post it later.

Personally, for me, it feels weird just going forward without having Callum react in any way. I understand life obligations come first, so I'm fine with waiting longer. I think Xeno and Shisa will be okay with it too.

Yeesh. Lotta operators out here. Maybe stick with civilian guns? I'm a little concerned about the prospect of machine gun toting super soldiers in a setting primarily about normal people in a disaster situation.

Agreed.
Pharmacy group is so close to getting to the hospital but I dont want to, like, powerplay Callum there. Hopefully Apoalo can get a post in soon.

Also Xeno you're going to post before me right?
Kate

“I’m Dot. She’s Luanne. We’re twins.”

Oh boy, were they twins. Their faces were mostly impossible to tell apart, each having the same beautiful green eyes and heads of messy dirty blonde hair. Kate wasn’t familiar enough with either girl to discern whether there were slight differences or not, and now was not the time to dote on it anyway.

She would have to keep track of their clothes for now, she supposed, beginning to catalogue what each girl was wearing. The seemingly stark difference in their personalities would also help in deducing which girl was which.

The gentle peace maker, Dot (the one that had introduced the two), had an outstanding article of clothing. A doctor’s coat, at least three sizes too big for her, covering whatever she was wearing underneath. It pricked Kate’s curiosity, but she withheld from commenting about it.

Kate’s family, and these girls, and the little boy who had yet to introduce himself, were all still strangers to each other. And Kate wasn’t too keen on become attached or familiar with any one of them until she was sure they would stick together for a while.

“I think the hospital's that way. Maybe they've got some kinda emergency center down there. Ain't a bad spot for an emergency center."

She took note of this one’s intelligence. That was positive. While brute force was a welcome addition to the group, they needed cunning and intelligence to survive and lead. The more thinking minds, the better.

“Smart kid,” Selina complimented the girl. For a moment, Kate made eyes contact with those eerie grey eyes, startlingly beautiful against Selina’s brown skin, and smiled encouragingly. Good job, Sel. Be nice,, she thought, as though Selina were in her mind.

If there was indeed an emergency center, it was critical that they reached it. Hopefully the government would have already sent help. And if there was no government there, at least, she hoped, there would be other people. Living people.

She gave what she hoped was a reassuring smile to Dot, before turning her attention to the other twin. This one had been dubbed by Kate as the aggressive independent thinker. Before she had spoken anything to the girl, she had already wandered off, mind clearly on the task at hand. Watching her go, Kate sighed a sigh of relief.

Reason being, the two of them couldn’t have been wearing more different clothes. Luanne, the sasser, was wearing a southern belle dress that looked like it had been shredded for convenience. Kate couldn’t remember ever seeing anyone wear a belle dress (and I mean, living in New York, that’s not really surprising), but she had assumed nobody wore those things anymore. Kate also couldn’t imagine the cutesiness of what the dress had probably looked like matching Luanne’s personality (or what she knew of her personality, thus far), but hey, people were allowed to wear whatever they wanted.

Kate could see Luanne rapping her bat against the windows of cars before checking them, looking for a keyed vehicle.

“David,” Selina was gesturing to Kate’s brother, pointing in the direction of Luanne. David nodded, before turning to his little buddy,

“Listen, I’m just going to look for cars with…Luanne,” he reassured the boy, taking a moment to recall the bell dress twin’s name, “You can stay here with Kate and Selina. They’ll won’t be moving very far, from here.”

“Make sure you both don’t go too far,” Kate chimed, as David followed after the girl. He nodded, giving a thumbs up to her, and Kate couldn’t help but feel affection for her sweet little brother. He was all grown up now, hardly what one would call little, but he’d always be a kid to her.

“You can help us look for cars,” Selina said to the boy, pointing to Kate and Dot as she spoke, and sounding gentler, and more like her sweet tempered self.

Kate had easily figured that family would strike a chord with Selina. It had already been hard enough, before the apocalypse, being a biracial, same-sex couple, about to have a kid of their own. It had already been hard for Selina, even before that, being the product of a biracial couple herself, as well as being bisexual. Neither one of these women needed anyone shitting on their family, especially not now, not in these conditions.

But, up until now, Kate hadn’t realized just how aggressive insulting the family made Selina. She preferred her familiar, sweet, Selina, the funny, easy going, reassuring one. Though, aggressive Selina, was kind of sexy. But that was a thought for another time.

Kate was glad Selina was getting back to her usual self, but was sure the tension between her and Luanne would stick in the air for a little while. It was ironic, seeing as how both were trying to protect their own, and coming to clashes over it.

“I think I found something,” David’s voice interrupted Kate’s thoughts. He was standing near a oldish sedan whose bumper was hanging precariously from its hinges, “It’s old, and looks ready to be thrown in the junk pile, but it’s got keys, and half its tank is filled.

On another note: I'm free allll day today, so I can post all day today. Yayyyy
Okay ya'll can take my post seriously now.
Ahh good idea I hadn't even thought about that. I'm off to edit my post. No one take it seriously yet.
Selina

"Ma'am? C-can we go with ya?" Selina wanted to say yes. She’d never hated kids. If she had, she wouldn’t have agreed to have a family with Kate. Wouldn’t have been so ecstatic when they had found out Kate was pregnant.

They had started baby shopping as soon as that pink stick had confirmed Kate’s pregnancy. Baby blankets, small pink onesies, hanging mobiles, a beautiful crib…That was all back home, in their apartment in New York. Selina had praised the gods that neither girl had pets. Leaving a cat, dog, bird, bunny, or even fish behind in this hellish nightmare would have kept Selina awake for hours at night. And already, she was barely getting any sleep.

But forget all of that for now. She was usually good with kids. But this girl had struck a chord. This one had insulted her family. Right now she was seeing red, so to speak.

“Listen here, you little bitch,” she spat at the twin who had found it somehow beneficial to scream vulgarities at them, “This is my fucking wife, my fucking baby. Would you do anything for your sister? Well I would do anything for my family,” she growled, jabbing a finger in Kate’s direction, “I was not about to wait outside that hell hole of a pharmacy so those things could have devoured us. Why don’t you little fu-“

Before she could finish her sentence, Kate’s hand (typically very gentle and caressing) collided with her cheek.

“Ow,” she whimpered rubbing her cheek, her rant abruptly halted.

“Now you listen here, Selina Gupta, you will not tell these girls to go fuck off. They have no one, and quite frankly, you know they’ll have a harder time surviving. And for that matter, so will we." Turning to the girls, she said, "You girls can come with us, Selina doesn't mind.”

Selina grumbled an inaudible, and begrudging agreement, and before she could protest, Kate began the introductions. David had made it out with the small boy latched onto his side, looking very much like an unwillingly babysitter. He was saying something like, “We’ll be okay, kid, don’t worry.” Huh. Imagine that. David actually comforting a kid. Selina nearly laughed, until he said,

“Why’s your cheek so red?” She then proceeded to become extremely silent, glaring daggers of death at her highly confused brother-in-law.

Meanwhile Kate was still doing introductions, “I’m Kate, this angry lady here is Selina, my wife, and this guy is my brother, David.”

David waved half-heartedly to the two girls, while Selina exaggeratedly rolled her eyes.

“We have to get out of here,” David piped up, glancing back to the pharmacy with concern, “We need to find safety…”

Both women turned to him, prepared for whatever idea he had in mind, but he just raised his hands and said, “You two are the smart ones. Figure something out.”

At that moment, a patrol car zoomed by at top speed.

Selina wanted to scream, and she figured so did the others. Scream for whoever it was to stop, wait. But by the time they had reacted, the car had already sped off.

"Zombies don't drive, right?" David stated dully, looking unhappy with their missed opportunity.

"No, but people can." Turning to the group, Selina said, "If we can find a car with keys, we can follow in that general direction. And if not, we follow on foot. Whaddya guys think?"
