His finger raised to head level and his mouth opened to reply to JJ but Vin's sudden outburst surprised Nate into a moment of silence. Only a brief moment though.

Nate furrowed his brow at Vin in confusion, glanced at JJ and then back at Vin. "Can't I do both?" he asked, only half joking. "The plan, Vincent is to wander into that there mine, check all the nooks and crannies and make sure there are no snakes or bad guys or fiery bears with machete claws that can kill is in our sleep. I went to a lot of trouble to secure the area around here and I don't want to not check the other end of our new digs and regret it when something creeps out on us from the shadows."

He started to move away from JJ towards the mine but half turned around to her and said. "And Jennifer, don't worry about it. This isn't going to be like that movie." He turned his back to her again and muttered "Because we're not friends."

As he passed Eric, Nate suddenly spun around to the kid and put his fingers to his temple as his face scrunched up.
"EW!" reacted Eric with a look of disgust on his face as he recoiled from Nate.
"Sorry." apologised Nate as he put a hand up. "My mind drifted. You stay out here and keep the entrance safe. If Eli comes back, let him know where we are."

He spun around to the rest of the group and yelled "The rest of you. Get in the hole."

I know I said I would post tomorrow but I couldn't sleep so...

"GREAT WORK GUYS! EXCELLENT FORMATION!"
"SHUT THE HELL UP, DONUT!"

Nate pinched the bridge of his nose as he listened to his clones yell at each other across the distance they had spread out. Thankfully he was now far enough away that the sound of them was fading somewhat. The weirdly chipper one that the others had christened Donut was aggravating him. He was way too cheery and friendly. Not like Nate at all. Was he a defective clone? He would have put it down to a random fluke, something that went wrong in the cloning process that altered the clones brain chemistry, if it wasn't for the fact that five was being weird too. It was less obvious than Donut but Nate saw it. Five was miserable. Bordering on emo. Nate was a generally happy person by nature. Not to the extent that Donut was but he was happy. Five was anything but. Seeing two such diametrically opposed sides of his own personality was confusing and weird. It probably warranted deeper introspection. That would be the logical thing to do. So naturally, Nate chose to ignore it entirely.

Despite how much he wanted to punch Donut in the face, he was right. The clones had spread out far enough to get a good view of the area surrounding the mine. If anyone tried to sneak up on them, the clones would see them. That meant Nate was free to get back to the others and explore their new digs.

Nate stepped out of the tree line about ten feet away from Jennifer and looked the group over. They all looked miserable and Nate wondered if five's mood was contagious. "Wow." he mumbled to himself. "Real fun crowd you've got here, Nate." Choosing to ignore the sulking Vin to Christi, he instead made his way over to JJ. Wrapping his arm around her shoulder, he asked "Jennifer dear, have you ever seen the movie Beneath?"

Also, I'd like to point out that I have absolutely no idea where Acer planned to take this story so if he's going to be gone for a prolonged period of time, I may have to torture him for information or we may have to make some shit up.

Alright. Since Acer is dealing with some stuff in real life, I'm going to assert my co-gm status and say we need to get this thing moving because of we don't, it's going to die a slow and inglorious death. And I can assure you of one thing, if Nathan James Hunter is going to die, it is going to be FUCKING GLORIOUS!!!

But seriously, we've been waiting around for too long and need to get our group doing something so we're heading into the mine to do some 'splorin. Both physical exploration and character exploration...Maybe a little sexual exploration too if Vin's up for it.

So anyone we're waiting for a post from should either get it done within the next...I dunno...day or two?...or just adjust whatever your working on. Although meme and dark shouldn't have to adjust too much as there are still Duplinates out in the woods for you to run into.

Sorry for rushing you guys but we can't wait around forever.

Any suggestions on when is too long to wait? The collab could be considered done, if a bit rushed, at present but I'm still waiting on more content and memetrash101 hasn't been online for three days. Life stuff and all. I'm just afraid that we'll miss our window and the group will have totally left the mine by the time he's able to get back online. Does a week sound reasonable or is that rushing things too much?

So sorry. I meant to address this but my brain has been so scattered lately.

Anyway, I'd say if he hasn't been on for over a week then just go ahead and try to intro your character without him. Or maybe even finish the collab by yourself if you feel up to it.

If you're feeling extra generous, give him an extra couple of days but don't wait too long. Waiting for a collab partner is a nice thing to do but you can't be expected to wait forever.

Hey guys. I know I said I would have a post up yesterday but I'm tempted to leave it until after @Thundercrash posts. Just because Nate's sudden reappearance may throw off any reply to Vin's comment that Christi may have. And we need more Christi.

Guys, I'll try to get a post done tomorrow at some point and bring Nate back to annoy everyone lead everyone into the mine of Khazad-dúm.
