So basically my next post should be on the way to lunch, correct? I need to be sure of this xD
Just so I am on the same page, this next post is supposed to be about the assembly? Maybe I misunderstood, I thought we were skipping over that and heading to lunch as a group. I'm confused xD
Anthony sat with his left leg on the bed wrapping his aching ankle. He was worried sick about his mother. Unable to handle the idea of her inevitable emotional breakdown due to his departure, he choose to block the images from his mind. Instead he replaced them with delightful thoughts of his father panicking. The dam that held the reservoir for his gambling escapades crumbled leaving the water free to flow to more promising seas. Whether a residency at Open Roads was a good idea, only time would tell.

The 8:00 bell rang as Anthony finished his wrapping. He winced as he stood to his feet and shuffled around to get used to the pain. He quickly slipped on a plain black sweater but took years trying to push through the left pant leg of his jeans. His solid black high tops were even worse. After taking what seemed like forever to dress he was finally off to the dining hall. Since he arrived the day before the one thing that he enjoyed most was that not a soul knew his name. Sure he still got looks, abnormally tall people often do, but nothing like back home. None of those forceful attention seeking greetings. "I can get used to this." Anthony thought flashing a brief and rare crooked smile as he entered the dining hall.

While waiting in line Anthony thought about his team back home. They were surely heartbroken. He always remained humble regarding his ability, but he also realized without him the team was doomed to fall short of the championship. “It's just a game. It's supposed to be fun. I hope they understand.” he thought to himself as he had repeatedly since he ran.

He snapped back as a tray was thrust in front of him in a vaguely confrontational manner. He looked down to see a measly breakfast especially for someone of his size. “Thanks.” He uttered, shaking his head as he began to search for a table. He found one, completely empty, and limped over. As he settled he listened in on the people around him, talking about their lives and Open Roads, and soon after came a revelation. Anthony had no clue what he was doing. He sighed, “Like I'm back on the court, trying to make something out of nothing.”

Name: Anthony Ware

Age: 17

Personality: Shy, Reserved, Stoic, Stubborn, Loyal, Sincere

Background: On the court, Anthony Ware was a man among boys after hitting a growth spurt and reaching six feet by the age of 12. His incredible size and immaculate fundamentals made him a staple on the basketball recruitment map. His father was a former college player himself and fully embraced the phenomena surrounding his son. His mother was contentious at first, after all Anthony was just a boy, but he and his dad helped assure her that the eminence was best for his future. From that point on Anthony's free time was filled with practices, film study, lectures, camps, and constant criticism by his father and coaches. During his junior year he hit 6'5" and was well on his way to leading his team to their first championship. He began to feel the weight of the world around him. It was becoming more and more apparent that he was 2 years away from playing professionally for millions. People began to see him as a investment. They pretended to like him, to love him, hoping for a future return. Ware almost finished the regular season undefeated. His team lost the final game. The team met at the local pizza joint to celebrate the end of a great season and get their minds set for the playoffs. Anthony decided to walk home from there. On the way, a large black SUV pulled over and he was confronted by 3 men. Each were completely covered, braced for the frigid Canadian nights. It was exposed that Anthony's father had been gambling on the team using inside knowledge of Anthony's talent and condition. He lost a bet that night, and Anthony was to be his father's messenger. Pay up or face the consequences. Anthony returned home, packed his bags, and left while his parents were sleeping. He had loved the game and now it made him hate his life. The pressure diluted his once unwavering passion, and instead of confronting everyone and wasting his breath, he decided to take his leave. (More to be revealed as developed)
