A Merc's Paradise

I apologize if it is not clear, but all the foundations of the companies came from earth, but became their current incarnations after the collapse, isolating them from Earth, leading them to form their own conglomerate. Daedalus was an attempt to get cheap real estate to expand their research and production facilities. Byzantium was formed when a bunch of stranded national militaries decided to pool their resources together rather than fight each other. Alhambra banking was an attempt to bring banking to the other side of the gate before the collapse, and latching on to military conglomerate, mangaed to ride out the worst of the collapse.

Lindenwood Conglomerate:

The Lindenwood Conglomerate is a group of former Terran Mega Corps that banded together after the collapse of the gates. There are three main companies, 5 minor, and countless smaller businesses that have been bought out. The Conglomerate only expanded after the reopening of the gates, and influences many aspects of everyday life.

The Pillars:

The three largest companies of the Conglomerate:

-Daedalus Tech: The forerunner of technology of both the Earth and the other side, Daedalus Tech was formed from the Expansion into space by the Lockheed Martin-Boeing Company. Before the collapse, the company invested heavily in the expansion, giving the site everything it needed to be self-sufficient. After the collapse, Lockheed Martin-Boeing collapsed, ruining the global economy of Earth. Daedalus Tech focuses mainly on researching Technology and medicine. They are the manufacturers of "the Ford of droids", the ANBS (Anubis) drones, which is the most plentiful of combat robots that can be reprogrammed into anything. They also produce many domestic robots for many things. They also research the weapons for the Conglomerate which are wielded by the...

-Byzantium PMC: Formed from the remnants of the multiple Earth military forces that were trapped after the collapse. The military contractors themselves are more of a proper military than a group of rag-tag mall-cops, and are often better trained, disciplined and armed that the state armed forces they are hired to supplement. Currently over 7 million active combat troops, 20 million support personal, and 30 million Drones and other AI controlled machines. Also has a full navy, documented later.

Alhambra Banking: The only suriviving banking system that survived the collapse, Alhamrba provides the money to the Conglomerate as a whole. Currently it is the most prominent institution across the Gate, and even provides funds for Earth. They are the nominal head of the conglomerate.

Weaknesses or Side-Effects:
Blind, severely weakened in intense light, his clairvoyance works on the recently deceased (recently killed is best, 1-2 days can see most memories, 3-4 loses oldest memories, longer than that he can't see anything).

Personality:
Gordon straddles the thin line between a hero and a villain, due to his unique power being dependent on having fresh corpses on hand. He places his freedom above all else, and anyone who attempts to control him are his enemies. He is both highly mercenary and strictly professional, offering his services to the highest bidder, and giving the requested goods as fast as possible.

Background:
Born to a family of acrobats, Gordon was always a free-spirit. He was home-schooled until college, where he attended the Modern City community college to pursue a degree in the arts. He dropped out shortly afterwards and attained a dead end job as a menial laborer at the pier. He had stowed away on a ship that was leaving the harbor the same time the ship carrying the chemicals was coming in. When the ship exploded, he was thrown overboard by the force, and barely dragged himself to shore, only to find that his he was blind. When he had gone underwater, he had opened his eyes by accident, triggering his transformation. Now he works as an information broker, hiring himself out to find information by hunting down, and consuming the eyes of the sources.

Other:
Currently homeless and declared dead, Gordon lives in the now vacanted area around ground zero of the explosion. He has offered his services to the authorities in exchange for immunity for his actions, but the city is still debating as the crime rate in the city grows.

Becoming a God

After the boost of energy, Ashley could feel a familiar ache returning to his knee. Looking down at his body, he saw that while his body was the same fitness it was a minute earlier, his knee was no longer had the flexibility it did. Smiling sadly, Ashley was about to go off on his own to search for his animal, when he heard someone ask, "Is anyone interested in working together?" Turning towards the voice, he saw the redhead looking around at the group. Two had already began going their separate ways and the remainder was milling around the stage. Raising his hand, he replied, "Yeah, I'm willing, though I may slow you down." As he said this, Ashley pointed at his stiff knee, which was obscured by his jeans.

Seeing Belle alone with the newest addition to their group, Artyem walked over to the nano-suited man and offered his hand. "my name is Artyem, pleasure to meet you." Then, turning to the purple-head he said, "Hey Belle, can you meet me here later? I want to know if you can put some upgrades onto my drone, since it's only a basic production model."
