Rak sat there, staring at the space where he would normally have his food. He simply didn't feel like eating. Deep thought tends to knock down on his appetite. The people across from him were omitting an odd feeling. Usually, Rak could put a word to the emotion, but this time he couldn't do it easily.. Hm. I'll go with ambivalence. After pondering this for a few moments, Rak realized his shadow wasn't crossing theirs. Oh? Am I just seeing this in their body language then? Maybe I am starting to be like a normal person Rak looked down at his writhing, dark shadow. As if.
Across from him sat an odd group. First, there was the cat-human Don't people call them nekos? Never thought I'd actually see one. I guess not everything starts from a creepy guy's fetish.. Also across from him sat another strange girl. Clearly the more excited of the two, she hopped from one place to another. Even Rak couldn't help but give her an odd look.
"Hey, Anya. I'm Rak. It's a pleasure to meet you." He gave what he thought looked like a genuine smile, and offered a hand to shake. Although usually her type wasn't the kind of people he liked to affiliate with, he thought he could feel an air of strength disguised by her immature demeanor. The cat, on the other hand, he had no idea. I'll play it cool and nice until I know more. Who knows, she may turn out to be stronger than I expected.
Suddenly, Rak felt a sudden wave of fear. He felt trapped all the sudden. Rak shivered for a moment, trying to clear his thoughts. Claustrophobia has never been an issue with him. Maybe the institute is taking a toll on me. Sweat slid down the side of his face, blazing a path for more to follow, and so they did. In a last moment attempt to get himself back into focus, he quickly created a small shadow spike from his thumb of his non-extended hand, pricking his palm, drawing a blood-like substance, but black. His mind cleared, the pain pulling him back into focus. Hopefully I won't have any other episodes of random phobias while I'm here. This isn't normal for me.
