Snrk! Sounds pretty entertaining, and risky ;3 considering that 'hostile AI fear' was played up in the past.
Though actual AI were 'avoided' being made in this world, so that half would have to come from somewhere as well, or perhaps be caused by the addition of a sentient being to the endoskeleton XD

Although, by spliced perfectly down the middle, do you mean 'literally' bisection down the middle with elf on one half and endoskeleton on the other half? I could see him being in desperate need of some artificial skin, heheh. Or do you mean perfectly spliced in the sense of the endoskeleton replacing his own bones?

also, interesting way to get around how any human with an endoskeletal implant would've suffered some form of horrifying death when changing XD

I'm also planning to play someone who has a few augments on the more 'compatible' side that won't get him killed... but will be hilariously inconvenient until he gets them remodeled.

Well the A.I isn't free thinking as such, but it has operational parameters that it tries to carry out at every given turn. I'm thinking that it's a military/security android, programmed to destroy all "Non-Company Entities". Since the world went to hell, and with the companies all in ruins or otherwise absent, the android's CPU is in a constant hostile state. As far as it is concerned, everyone not carrying company I.D is a threat and must be ... terminated!

However, for the rest of my character to be plausible, I need to ask if the following is okay:

I would like for the Elf part of my character to be from another world, if you would be permit this. I'm thinking that the current world's cataclysm caused some kind of disturbance across space and time, and my Elf, being a powerful mage, decided to take a closer look at the situation to see what was happening. During this expedition though, something goes horribly wrong, and he ends up fusing with the android. He then becomes stuck on the planet, with no way of getting home, but with a sole determination to reverse the cataclysm (even if it can't actually be reversed!). Using the android's inbuilt database, he'll be able to gleam details of events leading up to the planet's collapse, and go off to try and fix the situation if he is able.

Once I've got your answer on that, I can go into a bit more detail of how this half Elf, half android functions, and more importantly, what the state of his genitals are! (teehee)

Now I know you said you sometimes have trouble telling people "No!" when they suggest or say something you think would be bad for the RP, so I'm fully prepared to back away from this idea and approach from another angle. I'm in the early planning phase, so I'm happy for you to shut me down now - rather than let me go through all the effort of creating a character sheet and then telling me that it wouldn't work. :)
Interested. I like this setting, it seems to permit several possibilities, and the scope for character creation adds even more appeal. A perfect RP for me to work some rust off after a long hiatus.

If you'll have me, I'm considering a High Elf type character, perfectly spliced down the middle with a humanoid endoskeleton - like a Terminator. The Elf's consciousness, stripped from another world and inserted with this one, must constantly combat his machine half's hostile CPU whilst trying to figure out what's happened.

"Target acquired. Threat classification: Medium. Advise pre-emptive strike with maximum fire power."

"No you idiot contraption! It's a child foraging for food. By the Gods, what is wrong with you?"

"Self diagnostics have determined full system functionality. There is nothing "wrong" with my reasoning capabilities. This threat must be destroyed."

And so on, so forth.

What'd you think?
Deeply sorry for the delay, had some difficulties in terms of internet connection. Will make a CS and have it up soon.

It will be posted here.

Lovely jubbly.

Sorry for the slow start all, my life became unexpectedly "busy".

Just got back from work, but off to go and do me mum's garden, which will probably knacker me out... so tomorrow is looking like the day this will start.

Sorry again!
Just because my mind's curiosity is killing me, would you need to use a staff to cast magic? Also, would the "Arcane" magic type be magic missiles, magic darts, and all those things which don't have anything to do with fire, ice and all that jazz?
Also, do I ask too many questions? :U

Traditional arcane, yes.

However, arcane can also cover elemental magic. So if you wanted to be an elemental mage, you'd of chose arcane as your magic type, but elemental as your specialisation.

A general practitioner can pretty much do everything to some degree, but lacks mastery of any school.

Holy magic is more along the lines of divine powers; such as healing wounds at a touch, driving fear into evil creatures, being immune to some Fell magic etc etc

Fell magic covers all the black arts spectrum of things, such as necromancy, demonic summoning, soul stealing - that stuff.
Name: Lura Virem

Age: 16

Gender: Technically none, but identifies as male

Race:

Class: Short-range mixed attacker with minor healing abilities

Physical Description:

Though Lura has taken on a humanoid form to better fit into human society, his body is still made of the translucent, crimson gel iconic to his race. His hair and eyes, while still the same gooey substance, are simply a darker shade of red. While unable to understand why people are adverse to his slimy features, Lura still takes the courtesy to hide them underneath his grey, hooded cloak. The cloak, along with his dressy outfit, has several pockets which hold his belongings. He normally stands at a short 5'6" with an average frame.

Skillset:
Hemomancy - Lura's hemomancy is incredibly potent due to the amount of blood he has, but is short-ranged because his level of mastery is still relatively low. He can also use it to mend minor wounds and preform a transfusion.

Mimicry - Lura can copy the movements of others after seeing them, but not their magic or innate abilities.

Natural Abilities:
Lura's form is malleable, allowing him to morph into anything he can see with less mass than him. Absorbing blood temporarily increases his mass and allows him to regenerate lost body parts.

Magic Type: Fell

Magic School:
Hemomancy - The caster's blood is used to attack other beings and drain their life-forces. It can also be used to give blood and seal wounds.

History:
There was once a powerful archmage named Lucius Virem, exhausted from years of fighting. Deciding that he wouldn't fight any longer, the mage hung up his robes and retired to his tower. Relaxing for a few years certainly helped him, but now he was wondrously bored. "I suppose a hobby or two would help," he said to himself as he pondered what he could do. He'd never cooked his own meal in a while, so the archmage told the golem that normally made his meals to take a break, and he himself took up a knife for the first time in a long time. Shaking from something between enthusiasm and muscle deterioration, Lucius accidentally cut himself. Normally unfortunate, this actually turned out to be a stroke of luck for the old mage.

As his blood dripped, it took the form of a small, putty-like blob. Fascinated by this more than trying to do something he was bad at, the archmage brushed the minuscule slime into a cup and brought it to his study. He decided to name it Lura. Everyday, he fed Lura some of his blood and watched it grow, graduating from a cup to a bowl. Lucius carried it from room to room with him, chatting to it as if it were a close friend as he read or took a bath; Lura seemed to hop or shake a little in response to his words. Being eccentric as usual, Lucius wondered if smarter slimes could learn like people and decided to give him an education.

Along with giving him the necessary knowledge to live in the outside world, Lucius helped Lura learn the art of hemomancy, reaching the point where Lura could change his own form into fine shapes. During the ten remaining years of the archmage's life, he finally came to consider Lura like a son. After the old man was put into a tomb in the tower, Lura adopted the surname Virem and took the cloak put away years ago. Though he wasn't welcomed by most people, he found a home as a mercenary, where no one cared who he was as long as he could get a job done.

Equipment:
Grimoires - Lura accepts two types of pay: money and magic tomes. He's still relatively inexperienced at hemomancy, so he tries to learn what he can about it. He can also invoke stronger spells with some of them.

Notebook - Though able to talk, Lura seems to prefer writing down his words rather than actually speaking. He also likes drawing things, but usually ends up making them hyperrealistic.

Love the character, it's original (to me, anyway), I'll give it that.

Got me a little question though, does that mean his skin looks like red jelly?

Accepted in either case.
I just lost around half of this while I was typing ;~;

Wendel Axewielder

Looks okay to me, every group needs a loser :P

Name: Kuma

Accepted :)

Perfect! I love it.

Glad you think my grammar was alright, I always thought it was cancerous! xD
Well, I guess it's time to plot my character and such. Time to go over to the drawing board/ steal art from people! ( Well, if pictures are required in the character sheet, anyway. )

Pictures aren't required. I have no preference here, use a picture or text, it's all good.

Some say that using pictures is cheating and displays a lack of writing skill, but who am I to judge?
I'll be getting Pelgrum to you guys in my next post, just wanted to do a little intro to set the tone for him.
First time ( trying ) to join a roleplay in this site. Here goes!
But first- questions.
What would be the age of most of the players by the time we start?
Is it okay if I make my character chubby? I have a tendency of making OCs chubby.
And last, did my grammar give you cancer?

Welcome!

Why would I require them to be thin and sexy? I don't pleasure myself to them. Or maybe I do. Who knows? People can make whatever characters they like, in whatever form they prefer. I don't think I've ever heard of an RP where "thin" characters were a requirement.

Age is up to the player, they could be anywhere between 14 and 65 I guess!

Grammar looks okay, from this tiny sample ;P I'm sure you'll be fine.
