Like most of American history Brimstone's true formation is probably all but lost to time, though many locals can agree (widely in part because of one standing stone monument) that the town was founded somewhere towards the end of the 1700's by a lone fur trapper hell bent on opening a trading outpost. From that time on the town grew until reaching about the size it is now only to oddly stop growing and, even odder, more or less maintain its size regardless of the social or economic troubles throughout the years. Almost more miraculous was the way natural disasters never seemed to foul the land with their presence; the catastrophic dust bowl itself from the 1930's hardly causing even a speck of trouble.

For as long as anyone can remember Brimstone has always been like many other picturesque small family friendly towns; the sort of place where everyone knows everyone and you don't have to leave your doors locked at night. A place where people really still talk to one another at the commonly organized community events such as the weekly Bingo game or yearly Ice Cream Social-most adults in town even belong to a Monday night book club at the library. It's the kind of community that welcomes outsiders just as readily as they take care of their own, a place where seeing a pie on a windowsill is as common as the local Diner being completely full each Sunday after church. It truly is an idealic community blessed with both prosperity and health. Heck, having been around since the 1700's there shockingly has never even been so much as a murder within the consistently small population.

Up until recent years Brimstone had even been somewhat well known as a good place to go for vacations or healing retreats-all largely thanks to the local hot springs and the once 4 star hotel and spa that was quick to build bath houses around many of the largest of the natural springs. When not using one of the hotels many services guests could often be found enjoying themselves in one of the many locally owned small business' along the two intersecting roads that run the whole of the town. To this day the Brimstone Hotel and Spa prides itself in easing the discomfort and pain of those in their final days while also maintaining other equally impressive facilities for those just looking to relax and enjoy some time off. Some locals in town do worry though that the long standing hotel could be going the way of the old Sulfur mines; which is to say a permanent shut down.

But to every up there is a down, and much like with everything in life the towns glowing outward appearance casts a very long shadow-a shadow which many a number of untold secrets and horrors lurk within. Those who come to Brimstone searching for these secretes often leave disappointed; the truly unlucky however do find the answers they seek. Answers they keep to themselves forever within Brimstone.

Brimstone has very odd geography for Kansas: sitting in the bottom of a valley it is fairly wooded and has natural hot springs along with ample sulfur.

Outdoor pets frequently go permanently missing.

The few farms in town have extremely fertile soil.

Despite being one of the oldest towns in Kansas Brimstone isn't on any map

Wildlife is extremely scarce despite the abundant natural resources.

Locals tell tall tales about a creature long ago dubbed “The Egg Man” because of the supposed rotten egg smell that overpowers the air during sightings of it.

It is the second month of summer vacation for the local schools

Sightings of The Egg Man have increased as of late

Kate Wheeler, owner of the popular diner Kate's Kitchen, has recently lost her cat fluffles. She is offering a year of free pie at the diner to anyone who finds her missing feline friend along with a hundred dollar reward

The Comic Cavern has just gotten two new games called “Dig Dug” and “Polybius.”

A rather suspicious man in black, rumored a government agent by those that frequent the Drunken Skunk, has been in town the past few weeks.

Adults that work at the local hotel and Spa have been complaining/brainstorming about the lack of tourists to the town lately.

Rules, character sheets, other informations

@T Risket

Is there a concrete deadline for character creation, or is it more easy going?

I don't expect you guys to be patient with me if It doesn't go both ways.
Allright guys, I am finally home for the night. My goals for tonight though are getting the rp thread itself up, finishing off my character sheet, and maybe starting the first post.

Sorry if this seems like it is taking awhile to get off the ground but I work so much that by the time I usually get dinner made for everyone I only end up having an hour or two to actually do anything. I do try and get on everyday though and get something done, hopefully tommorow night I will actually be putting up the intro post.

anyways, I'm off to do some writing!
@BubblegumQueen Great sheets Queen now Im gonna go pass out before you guys post anything else.
@BubblegumQueenAs soon as I try an leave you give me more to read!
@MissCapnCrunch Love the sheet by the way Capn, lol especially the "Always has someone else's lighter in her backpack." line

I pretty much got my sheet done, just gotta clean it up tomorrow. Hopefully I will have more time to be on after work and I can actually throw the IC thread up for us, really didn't have much time to write tonight though. Sorry guys.

I am gonna call it a night though, got another 10-12 hour shift tommorow. Look forward to readin the rest of your character sheets though!
@T Risket
I think I'll make James The Germ Max's age.

This is my fault default, but whould it be allright if you picked a different picture for James? Someone had sent me a sheet idea earlier with that same image and I just assumed you were the same person when you posted that up, just realized my mistake. If it is a big hassle just let me know though- you can also go without a pic if you want.
BRB

Hey guys, finally got a chance to hop on after a way to long of day at work. Just wanted to keep people updated and let you all know I should have my own sheet up tonight. I should be on checking the thread for any comments/questions in the meantime

@Default Love the sheet-specialy like the nickname he hates. You mind if he and my main character Max are already friends?

Hmm, I'm personally thinking of making maybe a teenage girl and her late 20's - early 30's year old brother. (Or maybe sister, not sure.)

Would that work, do you think?

Yeah, sounds great! I wonder if he will have a cool car...

Oh,and if you are also interested in having your character already know/be friends with/hate my character Max just let me know,same goes for the older brother and Max's sister-she is early 20's and works at Kate's Kitchen as a waitress.
@Stitches@BubblegumQueen

Thanks for the interest! And I don't see why not Stitch.

As for everyone else, I just wanted to tell yall that I have attached a character sheet up top for anyone wanting to get started working on something. Going to post it below as well as add it to the intro. Right now I am letting people pick their own "colors" for the sheets, but if anyone needs help/thinks I should pick a uniform color then just let me know.

Anyways, I am off to work. Be back on in probably like, 10 hours if I'm lucky. Look forward to hearin from everyone!
