Personality Traits

reclusive- Due to most people disliking drunk people and that alcohol smell that most can't stand. Steven has learned that whenever possible he prefers to be alone. If he is forced into a group situation he will usually not be the one to speak up in a group or to offer suggestions unless he is put on the spot.

Dislikes people- This stems from the years of childhood abuse and how in his experiences in Hvass alcoholics tend to just use other alcoholics. It will take awhile for him to warm up to almost anyone. Feels most people just want something.

Critical- Due to Steven being alone for most of his life, he has developed a critical mindset and If he is not the one doing something chances are he will feel its not done properly. It is a self coping trait that is abrasive and tends to push people away as Steven goes for his version of perfection to try and impress people.

Strong friend- Once you can get past his walls, he will be with you through thick or thin. Very few people have ever gotten to this stage in Steven's life. The one that comes to mind the quickest would be the minister that gave William a place to live and seemed to genuinely care about him. Despite his failures and shortcomings as the groundkeeper of the church, he was often disappointed in himself for failing to do better.

Knows he needs to do better socially- He considers himself a work in progress. He does not want to be like his father and claims he's there because he is not abusive. Often struggles with guilt at being unable to put the bottle down, but it is one of the few places he finds comfort in. At the bottom of the bottle. It's gotten worse due to the fog and its monsters.

Background

Steven lawhorn is a native of Hvass. He never knew his mother because she died giving birth to him and he was left with his alcoholic father Benjamin who was often prone to fits of rage. Whether it was due to sadness at his wife dying or struggling financially, once Steven hit 18 he left his home and drifted from place to place within Hvass doing odd jobs until he happened upon the goodwill of the minister of the Lutheran church who put him up in a small trailer on Derby street as long as he promised to keep up the grounds of his church.

It is actually for this reason that Steven survived the fog. Instead of being outside passed out drunk in his yard, he was within the maintenance shed at the church hiding with the bay door shudder down passed out on a lawnmower drunk. Steven knows he needs to do better and be a better person but old habits die hard and years of abuse and drinking have left him distrusting of most people. He is something of a handyman though as he had to find a way to supply his addiction.

Honestly he's still not fully sure of what's going because he always tries to have a bottle in his hands. Claims he's a functioning drunk. He has done his best to remain on the outskirts of the people he's near but he is helpful when needed and asked things of.

Hello! Greetings! Why don't you stay awhile and listen? I find myself often having very vivid dreams and while most are very silly, occasionally I discover potential gems in the rough. I would like to world build from this dream and make a story. I am seeking someone who can help me build this world. Preferring high casual to low advanced. I am usually able to post at least once per day. I leave here a snippet of said dream.

"The large stained glass windows rattled from the force of the lightening that struck by close. The storm that raged outside had hurricane like winds and was uprooting massive trees, but the temple did not budge. The continued lightening strikes lit up the dark temple, revealing a massive room that was filled with thirteen small marble thrones with one large throne in the middle that towered over the others and had stairs that descended from it. A statue sat in each throne save for the large throne. Each statue appeared similar to the last in the clothing, hair, and posture styles, yet upon closer inspection each statue had a distinct face.
One of the statues closer to the large throne began to blink as it's eyes seemed to gain life in them, but it was like one awakening from a deep slumber. The figure's vision was hazy and blurred and the eyes struggled to focus. He could not collect his thoughts nor move his body or head but he noticed out of the corner of his eye one of the statues at the very end of the hall becoming flesh and starting to slowly walk towards the door. It was here that consciousness slipped away. The statue had many more similar experiences, each time awaking in a state of paralysis, unable to really think or comprehend what was happening around him as the temple seemed to not only fall into a state of decay, but also empty itself one by one of statues."

All possible things to help me figure out. I do have a small plot in mind as this is only a small part of the dream, but yeah :D

So I am thinking of world building something kinda sci-fi where Humanity has more or less fallen to a Menace of unknown origin. It can either have originated in Europe or America and whatever country that is on the opposite side of the world is more or less the only one thats not completely fallen. Both sides will have pockets of humanity being hunted by this threat. Aliens...demons?! What are they!?! Well if this has caught your interest lets give it a go. I have a story kind of in mind already but its very sand boxish since obviously two humans will be hard pressed to stop something that wiped out all of the world's military. Might just be surviving or it could go to more.

With all that out of the way I would like high casual, to low advanced writing. I kind of have in mind all the creatures but will always be willing to add more.
