I highly doubt your character has the right know how on repairing a healing machine that by the way requires power to it to work anyways.

You'd be surprised :P. I studied electrical engineering before switching to Software Engineering XD. I also soddered things back onto motherboards. And had to fix projectors for a movie theater. That stuff is a lot easier to fix than you think. The design is whats a pain.

You can splice cables together as long as the resistance of the new wire doesn't pass the threshold of acceptable resistance. Which generally means you can't use a heavy cable on a light cable. And it can't be too low. Meaning you'll start a fire if you attach a light cable to what needs a heavy cable.

Really, the only thing you can't jurry rig back together on a machine, is the motherboard. If that's damaged or broken. Good luck. And it's stupidly hard to destroy those suckers in industrial machines.

But too be honest. I would not run that thing for longer than two weeks. Especially after going through a fire. Normally, I wouldn't care because the devices do have a pretty good heat resistance, and the casing does a good job at insulating ambient temperature. But... it's medical equipment.

So... the machine, that much Leon can do. Civil Engineering on the other hand... yeeaaah. No... that Aquaduct is screwed. Because I honestly don't know how they work. He could tell you how to build a water purifier... but that's honestly only good for one family at a time X3.

He was also that guy you'd see in front of his bedroom window reading some hard core books and theories in hopes of getting accepted with a full ride scholarship to a prestigious college.

Dune City; Pokemon Center burned

@Sho Minazuki @Heckno12 @Sketcher @EWillden

“Mmm…” The man began as he lifted his mon off of the cart and carefully set her down in the sand, with the towel under her. He then pulled a box of tools out from under the cart, and a long cable. “I hear you loud and clear. But there’s not much to worry about.”

Leon then crouched down and pulled out a bundle of cables and tossed them off to the side as well. “I plan on handing this back once I get this up and running again. Other wise it would have burned, and… a lot of pokemon would be just shit out of luck for a couple of two or three weeks.”

He opened up a side panel to the machine and poked his head inside. His eyes quickly sifting about it’s parts for the power supply. Once he found it he read it’s lable, mumbling softly to himself, “two hundred fourty volts, fifteen amps… so that’s… about three... point eight kilowatts of power… need the heavy duty.”

With that he drew out his machete and stuck it into the ground point end first. He pulled out a thick cable from the selection and quickly pulled it across the blade. Cutting off one end of the extension cable. And then working more carefully to expose the wires.

“A handy man could fix it, true true. But that handy man won’t show for… another three days,” he continued. Carefully cutting away the insulation between the wires on both the extension cable, and the power supply for the machine.

“And the missing parts? Unnessary. That massive bit behind it is just a covered heat shroud. Not much more than aluminum tubing. This machine dumps out a lot of heat… no lie… it’ll be a sona in a closed room if it wasn’t properly dispersed. But that can be handled later.”

The trainer than looked up to them as he connected the two wires together by twisting them. “I should probably introduce myself though. I am Leon Cyrule. I’ve spent a long time studying different things in hopes of becoming an Engineer one day. And that simply means that I solve practical problems.”

He then slipped the insulation back over the wires, and began to seal them back together with the aid of electrical tape. “So what do you do when you get a bundle of trainers, whom’s friends were roughed up in a fight of roufians, and the aspiring engineer who made a promise to a friend to get a medical call?," Leon nodded to his treecko, whom definitely looked like she was in some bad shape. " Practical problem.”

With that Leon finished up the power cord, and pulled out the technical manual for the machine. He then shifted to inspect the monitor that had been cracked in the heat. The crack was superficial it seems, though he did need to take a moment to reconnect some of the broken wiring. A glance over the electronics proved no real damage. The insides also look as if it had been protected from the heat by the casing. Looks like it should work fine.

“Huh… less messed up than I thought. Only real damage was from breaking off the feet, and hacking the power cable. So… just need to go back to the Nurses, hand them the machine. And find a power source. A strong power source. Strong enough to go to the future I guess. Bit of an exaggeration really, just enough to run an air conditioning for a house.”
@EWillden

Leon is talking to your group. He's also made mention of repairing the healing machine he aquired from the burning building in about an hour or less.

Sorry it wasn't colored though. My computer is not playing nice with this website right now.
@Sketcher Nothing fits a proper healing from a machine! DX. Besides, in my mind... potions and healing pulse can only go so far. If a mon gets jacked up enough, you're better off putting them in an incubator. Which is why even though a Mega Absorb can fully restore a treecko pretty well... Maple, only went from Critical to "Bad Shape".

In my mind, they only get more vitality (energy/vigor) to continue the fight with pure determination. But if you get gored, you're not fixing that with a potion. Think of it like how Pillars of Eternity does it. You got stamina, and then you have actual health. If your stamina goes out, your character is defeated, but not dead. he can quickly be picked back up with some debuffs added to him, and this is what you heal with potions and magic. But as your character starts taking damage, his actual health drops with his stamina. No item can heal that. And if hits zero, the character dies on hard mode. On normal mode, you get "Maimed" and if he goes down again before he fully restores his health... he dies. And the only way to heal that is to rest.

That's my thought on it, because they did say that a pokemon that is pushed too hard can eventually die from it XD.
I honestly don't think it's more than a cradle that had been bolted down. The show really did not show more than a screen nor a larger machine. In the games where it appears larger could just easily be a housing for power cables.

And sure the machines are easily replaced, but it will still take a couple of weeks
I don't know why no one thought of this... But Leon was the only one wise enough to rip the healing machine out of the floor, and haul it with him out of the fire.

PS, he's talking to Sho's group :P

Side note... the water in the oasis should be fine. An oasis wouldn't form near an ocean, other wise it'd just be part of that large body of water. It'd form a bit deeper in main land, and have a dense enough surface of bedrock to isolate the water. It wouldn't have enough water to supply an entire city, but for tourism it should be fine.

Well… things finally turned for the better! Maple, who was now on all four panting her little heart out in exhaustion, had defeated her opponent. Many of the Nexus grunts had fled the scene, and things looked like it was starting to stabilize.

Leon sat down with his head swimming in a daze. It had definitely been a long day, and he hadn’t thought it’d end up like this. He just… just needed a break. To sit down and think. He had time for that… right? With their numbers depleating, surely the civilians would gain enough sense to fight back.

Yes… it’s all starting to turn out right. They were even throwing down smoke bombs to make their get away! Wait… those weren’t smoke bombs. How useless were they even… they only laid out some black goop. But then… came the first sight of a match.

“Oh! WAIT NO! F-*CK!” Leon cried out as he quickly ripped his pokeball from his belt and recalled his mon. A move that was made just in the nick of time. Immediately, a roaring fire exploded from the pools of oil, and bathed him with a smoldering heat.

“SONOVABITCH!” Leon cried out in rage infueled hysterics. He had came all this way in hopes of a promised medical look up for his treecko. And now that was stolen from him by a group of lunatics. How dare they! And now this medical facility will be rendered utterly useless! Useless!

Unless…. There was still some time… right?

---
A few minutes later, Leon forced his way out of the doors of the pokemon burning center. He was coughing heavily as he slowed down to a stop at a safe distance. He had appeared to have taken the time to scavenge and cart out the more critical medical equipment before the building was completely roasted.

He paused for a moment to release Maple from her ball, and gently set her down on the cart over a bundle of towels before pushing it to a nearby group. Instead of complaining about being treated like so, she merely grumbled and laid her head back.

“Do you mind if I join you? Had quite the rough day… nearly died twice. But hey… one of which is worth it,” he hummed. His gaze looked back to the building for a moment, before looking back to the two.

He was completely covered in soot and ash, with a few superficial burns on his body. He coughed a bit, spitting up some ash, but ignored it as he continued on.

“Also got this thing here. I broke a few things on it trying to haul it out, but I can fix it in an hour. Give or take anyways. Figured if we can find the nurse, It’ll be helpful enough in a pinch. If not… can’t hurt to make a phone call to figure out how to use it.”
Just waiting.

Dune City; Pokemon Center| ROUND 2 Maple Leaf vs Machop

@Sho Minazuki @Heckno12 @Sketcher @EWillden

Round two started with Machop making the first move. Once again the grunt’s pokemon closed the distance with a flurry of Bullet Punches, keeping Maple on the defensive.

“Maple! Hold off on your attacks till I give the word! Just keep backing up!” Leon called out! His feet carrying him off to the side and out of the way of the conflict. Maple had looked up to him for a moment, even with the focus in her eyes, he could see the confusion in them.

She glanced back just for a moment, and studied what was behind her. By the time her eyes had returned to her foe, she understood her trainer’s intention. The first swing came and instead of ducking or stepping to the side, she stepped back while lowering her head to avoid the blow.

The mon immediately gave way to a lot of ground as the Machop advanced forward with a heavy swing. The motion caused her to completely jump back to avoid taking a detrimental blow.

The exchange continued until Maple leaf felt something soft and rough under her feet. She immediately jumped back before the attack came while telegraphing an opening. And sure enough the offender took the bait.
“Heh, sorry kid. I hope you had a good life! Machop! Fire Punch!”
Not one to waste a chance, the Machop advanced forward with a vicious grin. One first became engulfed in flames as it reared back. The machop immediately stepped forward, but this was it’s first fatal mistake in the fight.

Instead of making sure it had solid footing, the advance had caused the Machop to place one foot on a floor mat, while the other was left in the air.

The treecko, who caught on to her Trainer’s goal did land… but not in a way expected. Instead of landing straight up… She landed on all fours and immediately twisted when her claws had grabbed hold of the mat. The floor covering had immediately been torn out from under the Machop sending him careening heels over head to the ground, while the mat had been tossed into the on looking crowd.

“What the HELL!?” The grunt cried out.

“ATTA GIRL! SWEEP THE LEG!” Leon commanded.
The treecko obeyed with a smirk on her lips. She allowed the momentum of her previous action to carry her as she brought the might of her tails against the side of the falling machop’s legs. There was a crunch, followed by one of it’s legs bending unnaturally before snapping back in place.

The machop let out a pained cry as it tumbled to the ground, holding onto it’s leg.

“Don’t stop now! Bullet seed!”

“Machop! Get up now!” The grunt commanded. But it couldn’t. It could only managed to barely get up on one leg before a hail of high speed projectiles tore into it’s other leg. The Machop dropped in agony. And once again cried out as it’s arm was ruined by another bombardment of seeds.

Relief filled Leon as the fight was drawing to it’s conclusion. He visibly relaxed as Maple now started to walk closer to her opponent. The machop was busy feebly crawling away.

“Well… that was a shade too close from black,” Leon sighed. He then looked up to the grunt. “Your ass is grassed. Maple if you kindly.”

Maple smiled as she placed a hand on the Machops head. A moment later the Machop cried out once she used Mega Drain. A second later the Machop fell to the ground unconscious.

"Tch," the grunt recalled his mon and turned to leave. "Till next time kid."

Leon watched him go. Something told him to stop him... but he just watched as he disappeared. He was more relieved at the thought of surviving a bad situation.
