Oh dear... Sombra at this rate is becoming an archive. Luckily for everyone, how cryptic a secret is depends on the price was paid. Narghul is pretty much safe from the exposure of that. If the events of that location is that bad, then the price for the events will be absurd.
"A terror of eras, whispered in my Agartha. Shadows danced where the light had fell. And till one by one when history was etched, did a tide end this wretch."
Remember that even when she can answer "What is the meaning of life"
She can't give the true answer. She can only give the ole "This question is not wrong"
If the pay is not enough, most cats will ignore it.
You could just ask her to censor some things. Which will just become a page floating around lost in the agartha (more on the agartha to come later)
1. Because Del Sombra's name implies "Of Unknown Origin" and that she's incapable of representing a normal human, she's probably not related to any of the gods, and might be one of the younger gods, who's creation is either a powerful concept that gained conscience. Or a "left over" from something else. It would also explain her bizzare curiosity.
2.Her champion would be selected by who ever stumbles on AND picks up a small idol that has been placed out in the open for anyone to see. It'd definitely be a test of character :P
<Snipped quote by Tangletail>
"The quickest way to a man's heart is through the suffering of his family."
@Tangletail I agree, she's very enjoyable. I especially like her strange variety of creations, and her apparent tendency to invade one's bodily space--as in, the spaces inside one's body- in curiosity.
Also, that Nahash opinion. The havoc.
EDIT: And the Ashevelen opinion, as well. I'm getting a good sense for deities that will be grouped together most often, I think.
I'm sure any other god has wondered what an intact mortal looks like on the inside. Plus it's a good way to see the desire in the hearts of men!
I also made a small change to Ha's
"The Hammer of Ringing Bells"
A phrase inspired by the song of the Misty Mountain from the dwarves of the lord of the rings.
I had actually thought about refering to Dor as "The beard of ages". It's a reference to an elder's wisdom. The longer their beard, the wiser they probably were.
I have included Kalla as the fourth primal god, gave a summary of the god realm, and provided a backstory for the Gods. Now lets see what I can get done tomorrow.
"aye brother, this mortal elixar is -hic- rather splendid I have to admit. - Say I was thinking, -hic-, your Ziz things, y'know, the birds that can freeze a man with a stare with the eyes.... yeah yeah, all fine and dandy, but, -hic- what if...what if we took a Ziz, and a Dragon, maybe a basilisk, and we made them..-hic-...made them get freaky.. and then we throw the eggs we make at that bug guy's giant bugs for good ol' laughs huh?"
As long as it's sexy. Del Sombra has to watch everything :/
Here are the opinions? Any changes you want made? any suggestions?
Kilgarrah: The Goddess of the Unknown views the lord of dragons as a very practical man, if not a dunder head. She holds respect for his very direct solutions, even if they might not always have a bit of fore thought. However, she also mentally lables him as childish for his tendencies of random tantrums. She –does- enjoy watching his fights with the mortals, and will usually follow him to the colosseum in the form of a female catfolk. She often refers to him as "Molten Hide".
Nahargu’ul: If she was a cat’s mother, then Nahargu’ul is often seen as a favorite uncle or some sort by her children. And the feline holds him in high regards. Not only does he provide fish, water, and cleans a large portion of the world’s air… but the depths of his oceans are so mysterious and beautiful that it often catches her eyes and leaves her in a daze as she explores them. What’s more is that his cryptic choice of words often acts as a lure for her. Though she sees him as a strange man when his domain is so full of life, and he’s as stoic as a rock. Though she would not disregard him as a natural leader. In the short instances that she does speak, she often refers to him as “Royal Blue”
Yigzavath: If a title could be given, he is Del Sombra’s favorite “Salesman”. Being a god of secrets, and the mother of cats often implies that there’s going to be an eventual pit of sadism that needs to be filled when it comes to how creative one can get when designing a vault that is meant to keep unworthy mortals away. She labels him as entertaining… she absolutely adores his creativity. She really can’t bring herself to bare him an ill thought, even if he’s responsible for heart worms, ticks, fleas, and parasites that drives her children insane. She often refers to him as "Plague doctor"
Nahash: A character that Sombra adores enough where it’s possible to say that she has a romantic interest. Deception goes hand in hand with lies and secrets, they’re both of the same card. Of all of the gods, she is perhaps the most closely watched when she’s act work. Tempting and twisting the hearts of mortals acts almost as an aphrodisiac for the Goddess of Secrets. She often refers to her as "The Seductress"
Dormammus: She views him as probably the elder of the pantheon. She sees him as a really well together being with infinite wisdom, and is often visited with her bouts of curiosity, even if he can potentially be a bit of a bore. Knowledge is something that is important to her, and even with wisdom there are some secrets that lie in the knowledge he teaches. Of course, there are things she’d like to tell him, but unfortunately this suffers a case of “The right questions”. She often refers to him as "The sleuth of wisdom"
Iuppiter: One of the more upbeat gods without something to prove, and a riot to be around. She would love to one day have the ability to sit down and have a conversation with. Both under heavy amounts of alcohol and sober. She often refers to him as "Storm Father".
Ha: Any man or creature that handles and creates the perfect mixture of alloys is something to be feared in Sombra’s book. That being said, she find’s Ha ridiculously intimidating. She often keeps her distance from him, not just out of fear. But his intensity makes him unapproachable without a good reason. "The Hammer"
Ashevelen: Another who’s affection borders on the line of romantic interest if you can’t call it friendship. She has full respect for the mistress of luck. She deeply enjoys the goddess’s company when it is available, even when there’s not a good way to hold a conversation. She's often referred to as "Dancer of Cloaks"
Kalla: Kalla may detest her children, but that doesn’t mean that there’s love lost between the two. Sombra deeply enjoys watching her beautiful creatures roam the world. And more importantly, she’s thankful that Kalla allows her children to feed on the beast. Though there is a bit of envy, her first creature, which was the Orb-horse, did not end up nearly as beautiful. "The heart"
Asivar: There is beauty in even war. It’s no secret by now that she views a massive battle as a fatal dance of blades above a canvas. Pure violence… pure senseless violence made into an art. Into an art. When the battles are over, she often takes a moment to stroll among the fields to continue to watch nature take it’s course. She refers to him as the “Dancing Man”, for displaying a certain charm behind blood thirst and sword play.
On a side note, I was hoping the reaper character wouldn't be the dark, twisted guy. I was hoping for something like the Grim Reaper from billy and mandy.
The Black Cat, Dungeon Master, The Silent One, The Conspirerer, Goddess of the Unknown
Domain
Conspiracy, Secrets, Crime, Violence, Answers, lies, riddles, and truth.
Influence
Her influence might not be the most directly impressive, but holds a large influence over the hearts of man. She is what allows men to conspire, to lie, to meet in secret. And as a consequence, to murder, to steal, to betray, to trust.
And sometimes, the only boundary between full blown war and peace, is a king and his general conspiring against another kingdom.
Should you ever feel that you trust someone, or paranoid of someone planning to slip a knife in your back... it's likely her doing.
Religious Influence
Her influence spans a wide variety of mortals, with an equally massive diversity in characters. She’s primarily praised by cultist, assassins, and guild thieves. But has also found her way into warship by Politics, Generals, investigators, and secretive guilds. And even the occasional prayer will slip her way by those whom build tombs and dungeons.
Apperance
Del Sombra normally and often takes her spiritual form in the shape of a small feline. The cat’s eyes constantly emit an aura of wispy smoke, and it’s body seems to shimmer between corporal and incorporeal. However, this can often change to whatever is convenient for her at the time. She seems to be incapable of representing a normal human, and will often be similar to a Rakshasa or one of his demi-human creatures. And though Sombra is actually genderless, she can shift between genders at will, and seems to take precedence as a female.
Her body is almost completely incorporeal. Allowing her to easily step through walls, barriers, and magic without harm or damaging the obstruction. Any influence she places on the corporeal world is an act of unnatural physical force. Along with this property, her body disappears with light, and reappears in the shadows and the dark, her influence on the world is effected by this as well. She can not move or touch anything that is in direct light, unless she prods at its shaded side.
When she takes the form of a mortal, she assumes the form of a female catfolk monk resembling an Ocelot. Though she's not what one would call the pinnacle of beauty. Instead, she remains somewhat inconspicuous. She has small breasts, and a slender and sturdy frame. She stands only at five feet tall. She wears a pair of baggy white canvas pants, and a purple sash that is tied to her hips in a fashion to form a curtain on both of her thighs. She wears no shirt, or jacket. Her chest is only wrapped tightly in strips of cloth, as are her hands.
Her eyes have the same effect as that of her spiritual form. So the remain hidden behind a thick wrapping of cloth forming a blindfold.
On her neck, arms, and waist are sets of prayer beads. And completing her appearance, is a collar with a tag with a rune that displays that the monk had taken a vow of silence.
Personality
Del Sombra is a creature of secrets And behaves as such. She’s only capable of speech when telling a secret. She will not speak under any other circumstance, not even to the other gods.
She is a goddess whom keeps a keen eye on the world below. Observing, and following those that have taken her interest. She shows no care if she is seen or not by her quarry, and will continue to follow them no matter where they go, or the condition of their well being. Mortals have often found this behavior unsettling, and a tale tale sign of an omen head.
Along with this she has a curious and nosey nature. Often stepping through walls, or floors to peak at what’s behind them. Slipping her head into jars, boxes, books, and inside a mortal’s body. Tipping over books, chairs, loose furniture. Knocking down apples, leaves, and even as far as sitting on a human’s chest and watching them sleep.
She takes a surprising delight in watching organized crime. And will often reward impressive feats with boons of her own choosing. From secrets, to small pieces of her powers.
And she takes great care in watching adventurer's progress. She's often the architect of many dungeons, and ruins below. Allowing them to be used as hide aways for cultist, liches, or what have you. Even secrets, and sometimes vaults designated to hide and protect equipment for some fabled hero. Her whiskers twitch in amusement with every trap stumbled upon, or difficult encounter. But she certainly is not a sadistic mistress. With difficulty comes reward, and she purrs with pride as every dungeon she creates has been completed and plundered for it's secrets below.
She is known for some sadistic tendencies, and such a feature has rubbed off onto her many children. She is not proud of the delight, and often does a good job at holding it back. But it doesn't that it does not slip out or surface under occasions.
A tale once spoke of a blind female catfolk monk who was traveling on her own. A group of bandits had approached her with terrible intents of indulgence and murder. The monk only smiled softly to one, when he threateningly pointed a blade to her neck. She gently lowered the sword, and struck hard into the man's chest. She removed his still beating heart, and pulled the man close. She gave him a warm kiss on the forehead, and returned his heart into his hands. As the man collapsed and the other's ran. She just simply watched as he twitch and writhed till he grew still. That was her.
Powers
Her powers revolve heavily around information. And she has an unparalleled since of omnipotence. However, she can not read minds, and treats a private thought as a sacred boundary that should not be crossed.
Along with many gods, she’s capable of giving blessings onto her champions or those whom have earned her grace.
One of her blessings is on a global scale, a reward for all forms of life being capable of conspiracy. Every mortal has the ability to request information from a cat for a price. For instance;
A secret requires a secret, and only by the definition that Sombra has applied. A secret must be truthful information known by only a small number of –relative- count. And there must exist a faction in which its acquisition is beneficial. The feline may also decide whether or not it will share information, and will not share what they were told if the price was not met.
The cost of a hint or directions is dependent on the feline at the time. Which may be absolutely anything that the feline desires.
A feline will not whisper to a mortal until the cost is satisfied.
Many people will often call it just a myth. But there was a legend of a philosopher that once requested a cat to tell him the meaning of life. The feline's responce was a small cryptic whisper with a distant look, "This question isn't wrong."
Vulnerabilities
Bronze appears to have a unique property that it blocks and even repels Del Sombra’s powers. While Sombra is able to bypass a thin sheet of bronze. A significantly dense and thick enough object composed of Bronze will completely negate her abilities. A long time ago, a paranoid noble asked a cat how to block The Black Cat’s gaze, and she had told him to encase his secrets in bronze so thick, that a knock is hardly a whisper.
That being said, Bronze does have the ability to create a barrier against Sombra’s omnipotence. And even can be used to harm her, as a dense piece of bronze will ignore her incorporeal form. Even though this can’t be confirmed very well, this did not stop mortals from attempting to hide secrets with the use of bronze.
This activity and demand, had actually caused bronze to be jacked up in price, bordering the value of gem stones for half a pound of bronze. Oddly enough, the prices for copper and tin have only changed a small amount. There are a number of reasons for this cause.
Creations
Displacer Beast: A terrifying six legged beast the size of a bear and as nasty as a dragon formed with a lawfully evil mindset. These creatures have two long snake like appendages rising from it’s back, and have the ability of displacement. This ability allows the displacer beast to appear in a location that it is not. They are both solitary, and pack based creatures. That is some will prefer to stay in packs, and some would rather to be on it's own.
These nasty buggers are often seen as a display of the goddess's sadism, as they've developed a twisted sense of enjoyment about eatting their pray alive.
These beasts are incredibly dangerous and territorial to adventurers, and seem to have a level of intelligence about them. However, it is not uncommon to see these beasts become “domesticated”. And But domesticated in terms of an established contract. It is not uncommon to see them guarding shops, keeping watch at a thieve's hideout, or... and for those whom are as daft as they come... as a mount.
Sergals: A form of Demi-Human, and her first fully sentient creation. They are lanky creatures, resembling some sort of raptor with a mostly mammalian body. Their language is needlessly complex, and after many generations of existence has not grown much better. The Sergalian language is absurdly context sensitive with a mass scale of grammar rules making it obscenely difficult for non-native speakers to correctly translate, and as consequence, many of the intricacies of speech is difficult for a Sergal to comprehend, like sarcasm.
Their written language is not much better, as the meanings of their characters can change depending on the previous markings and sentences.
There's been a long running civil war between two different sub-species. Northern and Southern.
Their culture is fairly inspired by hunting and military proficiency, with a design of a Matriarchy. As they hold a large military power that is also made into a civil architecture. Their civil leader is the General, and it's law enforcement are soldiers. Soldiers may be both male and female, with varying skill sets in combat. That is not saying the race is not cultured. They do have an appreciation for arts and crafts.
Females tend to be much larger than males. There is a common joke about a high bisexuality/homosexual statistic among males due to how terrifying and violent a female can be.
Interestingly enough, even though she created them, she left the sergals to be free to choose who they wish to warship.
Cryptics: Passive Spirits that look like cloaked figures with heads of bizzare and complex ornamental runes. These creatures can not be seen by the mortal's eye, or any sort of magic. However, artist may accidentally reveal these strange creatures when doing paintings or drawings from life. Even though the artist can't see them, they will paint them into their work. These strange creatures appear near areas of interest. Secret lairs, near the entrances of cultist hide outs, occasionally inside a thieve's guild hideout (usually a good sign), etc.
Orbweaver-Horse: Part spider, part horse, and equally as terrifying all around. You’ll probably get a crazy look for wanting to tame one. But at least you’ll be able to scale mountains no problem. These horses might not be as fast as a normal horse on the ground, however the added property of being an orb weaver spider gives it plenty of benefits to make up for it. Needless to say, Del Sombra probably was either bored, or was curious to see this combination. In truth, she was testing to see what she -could- do, when she first started off. This was her first creation, which caused her some dismay in how the beast turned out.
Cats: Del Sombra has created all species of cats, big and small, and values them like her own children. They gossip and share secrets among each other. But they also have the ability to comprehend and use all languages of the world, both written and spoken. However, there's only certain conditions when they will openly speak with any none feline.
Sphinx: Another of Del Sombra's precious children. Large riddling felines whom often serve as guardians to some structure. Their size and appearances can vary widely among them. Those who fail to answer a riddle correctly may suffer a horrible fate. Some, though, do not resort to the use of Riddles. There's a legend of a Sphinx named "Erudite" whom built a massive dungeon and challenges adventurers to best it in the hopes of a reward.
Cat Folk: The last sentient race Del Sombra has created. These are humanoid creatures whom heavily resemble cats. They lack the sleuthing abilities of their predecessors. Their language shares similarities with Sergals, but is much simpler, as it dealt away with a majority of the syntax and grammatical rules that it previously had, and flows at a much more rhythmic and quicker pace. It is possible to start with the Cat Folk's language, and use it as a base to learn the Sergal's language.
Their culture is more freeform, and tends to adopt that of their surroundings. Should they be near a society that values war. Then as generations pass, they value war. Peace? Second verse same as the first.
Like the Sergals, the Catfolk are free to choose who they warship. But many still pay their respects to her by refering to her as "mother".
In many locations, the Catfolk had created monasteries where they train Monks in some sort of skill. The skill depends on the focus of the monastery. Some teach swordplay, some teach unarmed combat, Some assassination, some teach just art. Reguardless of the skill, the monks train to master it.
In fact, the monks are often feared well enough, that stories had cropped up about a single monk from "The Monestary of the Solid Fist" had felled and army of barbarians, unarmed and unarmored. This is likely just a story. But their ferocity is definitely not.
These monasteries will also often select a god to pray to for enlightenment, but do not force the practice.

She refers to him as the “Dancing Man”, for displaying a certain charm behind blood thirst and sword play. She is confused by why Kalla does not directly approach him.
Kulorerstes" A creature of death and misery. Del Sombra would be a hipocrit to not like him when her domain carries crime and violence. But her standing on him is neutral. She respects him for his duty, death is a very necessary and safe consequence to what many other gods could possibly provide. But she cares very little for his shambling corpses, finding very little amusing about a corpse. And she find's his personality to be a bit distasteful. He is direct, true, but there is a definite difference between a cats sadism and death's dark cruelty. She often refers to him as "The Harvest." This is used as a reference to the farming utility that is his symbol, and his duty to harvest souls.
Tthu-Mmmok Creator of one of her favorite landmasses. While there's not much to observe in his deserts, the few she does find piques her curiosity. From hardy plants and animals, to beautiful works of art. She often finds herself visiting the deserts. She finds Thu-Mmmok as odd as the lord of the seas. The desert might be dead on the surface, but it's full of life. Thu-mmok behaves the same both inside and out... though he's much more gentler to his followers. She does not believe that the desert should cover the world... but must hold her tongue as per law of her existence.
Erisibil A strange man whom everyone calls mad but her. He seems quite sane to her, especially when he knows his own domain, and name. If anything, he's unorthodox to her. She calls him "The laughing man"
Tales:
This story tells the tale of a Multi-leveled dungeon, and a thief named Dar’Haro.
The Forgotten rock was a dungeon carved inside of a stray mountain, with only a single entrance and a single exit. Del Sombra was it’s creator, and for many generations the dungeon had claimed the lives whom had thought that they could best it. Feeling disappointed, and a bit angry at herself for creating something so difficult, the goddess had struck it off of the maps of the world, and moved the entire mountain into a new location in hopes of it being forgotten.
However, years later, the dungeon had been rediscovered. And it was once again put into action. The mortals quickly discovered it’s past history and employed the forsaken dungeon as a prison. Those who entered were expunged of their sins, their crimes, and their blasphemies… and were free to go as they please. But they must reach the end of the dungeon to reclaim their lives.
The story then talks of a thief, whom’s luck had ran dry. Betrayed by his crew in the middle of a heist, he was caught by a group of paladins and brought before the king for his capital sentence. The thief had escaped the death penalty many times, and had a history of allowing himself to be caught to break others out. So the king showed no mercy, and sent him to the Forgotten Rock.
They had tossed him down the pit of an entrance, and left him to his fate. Where he clawed and fought his way through monsters, through puzzles, and through traps on that day. Days and nights had past before Sombra’s attention had been piqued. She watched this thief struggle his way below the mountain’s peak.
Finally near the end, where the augur was left to be told, the thief had collapsed from exhaustion and watched as the bringer of his death stepped closer to him.
Time grew distorted when the goddess appeared before him. She continued to stare at him, silently saying nothing as the thief continued to question why she was here. The thief eventually broke down, nearly loosing the grips of his mind, where he expunged every secret he knew… as a means to confess his sins.
And while she wasn’t the right god for such a confession, they were secrets none the less.
“The price has been met, and well beyond . If you wish to keep your life, then heed my words carefully.” The story after this often has many forms. Some says that the thief had became a “Shadow Dancer”. Other’s say that he gained some powerful weapon, or ability.
But they all lead to the same ending.
When the King who sentenced the thief spoke to a cat, and shared the secret of his passage ways, he asked it what were his enemies planning. The cat spoke in a hushed whisper.
“Mmmm… what a delightful secret a costly one though. But I’m afraid you’re not going to like what I have to say. He has no plans, but it seems that you will die tonight. Kiss your children goodnight, tell your wife you love her, make amends, and find a quiet place to lay in wait. Regardless of what you do, this is a fate that you can not abate.”
There was a philosopher, praised for his accomplishment, who sat at a desk. The rings under his eyes were as dark as the ink that stained his fingers. His gaze had not once left the sight of his window. He stared endlessly, seeing everything at once, and still nothing at all.
His cat, a tabby of seven pounds, and ten cycles, crawled into his lap and purred softly in amusement. “Solaris, you’re quite the actor. Any longer and birds would assume you a statue and will shit on your head. What troubles you?”
“A question that trembles the brain of many men, and spawns scorpions to lay waste to what little thoughts they have.”
“Oh? Do go on”
“We exist, we pray, we build, we destroy, we create, we take, we debate, we die...correct?” the philosopher known as Solaris chanted.
“Indeed you do, as any other man or creature.”
“We study, we decipher, we aspire, we deceive, we kill, we achieve, we ascend…correct?” The man slowly keeled over, as if he was to wheep on the desk. Only a hand gently scratched at his companions ears.
“Indeed you do,” the feline mused in a humored tone, “Just as any other creature can.”
“We sail, we discover, we adventure, we breath, we’re free, and we fail… correct?”
“Indeed you do,” the feline yawned softly. She shook her head and then replied. “Just as any other creature.”
“And yet we’re incapable of one thing… a question that no man can ever answer, and only the gods know themselves.”
“And now we arrive to the point,” The cat hummed, now licking her paw.
“So I make a request, out of the selfishness of an old mans heart. The thirst for knowledge of all men. Answer me this one question, oh wise cat.”
“Very well… what is the question?” Now washing her face with her paw.
“What is the meaning of life?”
The feline stopped. Frozen in place. She remained like this for a mere minute, then set her paw done. Her gaze turned to the man, but not quite on him. Instead she stared off to the distance as if she knew something that was above her station.
Description: An amazonianly large and lanky Sergal with a trimmed and groomed coat to make due of the warmer climate. She has a cool gray fur that covers the majority of her body with a strip of fur running between her thighs, up her stomach, and under her chin colored white. Her ears are long with tufts of fur curling upwards to the air. Her eyes are naturally gray, and on her maw there is some visible signs of a scar running down her cheek. Her entire body has been painted with tribal like tiger stripes, with a glyph on her stomach. The Glyph doesn’t have much in the way of meaning other than being a nametag.
While she usually wears armor… however recent events had made her armor’s torso utterly unusable, and abandoned till she can find a suitable armorer to repair it. Instead… she gets by – by shamelessly wearing the leggings, tail guard, and gauntlets of her armor. The only actual articles of clothing she adorns with her armor is a tattered red sashed loosely tied on and held up with belts like a skirt, and a wrapping of bandages around her chest. It’s clear that she doesn’t have much of a sense of modesty… even if there’s nothing for her to actually show.
And as for the way she carries himself, she steps with a subconscious predatory like prowl. But she seems to hold a plesant expression most of the time. Showing a very care-free, and happy go lucky demeanor. That is till she enters battle. Then she looks like she's possessed by the way her eyes hardens, and her lips pull back into a garish grin like snarl. Perhaps she takes enjoyment in ending lives? Perhaps that is just created from years of battle. Regardless, it's a sign that mercy is off the table.
Personality: She's very a very carefree, and mother like Sergal. She often lives her days one after the other by simply enjoying herself till her time finally comes, and she's forced to answer for the lives she took. Weather that be spending hours in a bar, running after the next big score for money, or rowdy and deviant acts of sex.
Backstory: When she turned the acceptable age for joining the military force, she did so with her parents support. She grew up with her Fahrar (The equivalent of a class in a school). which became her eventual warband that she operated for in the Northern Sergal Empire. During the time of her Fahrar, they trained under a monk whom specialized in various weapons of war. The techniques were not as extensive as a full training, but they were enough for experience to fill in the wholes.
Over the course of years with a war waged by a kingdom of Elves, the Southern and Northern sergals did unify peacefully into a pact, forming her many different friends and allies. Though as war is hell, many of their lives had been taken in months. And by the the time the war was over twelve years later. She was the last of her original Fahrar.
The sergals have a tradition, that with each fallen comrade that they were close to, they'd remember them by painting their body with a tiger's strike for each fallen soul. The ones closest to the heart, or over it, are those of some romantic relationship.
Eventually, she retired her career as a soldier. And looked for something to do with her life. She had dreamed about being a mother, and raising a family during the war. But had that painfully stolen from her by an arrow to the womb. Instead of sobbing over the lack of a dream, she just settled for making good of what life she has left and picked up adventuring.
Motivation: With little to do, what reason could she possibly have to not have a god whispering in her ear?
Why they were chosen as a Hero: Del Sombra is not the pickiest when it comes to heroes. Her selection process made use of a specially crafted castle off of the coast on a small island. The island made use of a series of puzzles, dungeons, and smaller quests. She had requested Nahash through a series of gestures and acting, to deceive a powerful wizard and require him to make the island his own kingdom while slowly going mad.
The wizard continuously forced ships after shifts to run aground the jagged rocks of his island in many violent storms to bring in new challengers to try and take his throne. Many have failed, but one did eventually succeed, and take his riches and title. That would be Reeva.
And truth be told... If a plague infested rat had completed this task... then the critter would have been Del Sombra's selected hero.
Equipment: An incomplete set of sergal fitted armor. She only has the pieces that protects her shins, her knees, tail, and her forearms. The rest is ruined from the battle with the wizard.
Tel - Thundering Long Sword: This is her primary arm for almost all situations. She displays quite the mastery of it's use from years of using long swords and two handers in the battlefield. This sword is very basic in apperance, other than a small momento -a ribbon of fabric from the wizard's cloak-. But it's clearly masterwork. This sword has a unique trait in which there is a chance that an opponent struck by it will be met with a deafening roar, followed by a violent shockwave. Most opponents are reduced to red mist and body parts after the effect. This sword was a gift found in the treasury at the completion of her selection.
Two Handed Sword - modeled after the Lowlander Great Sword: This sword is often her main go to arm for fighting something big, like a dragon, or some bastard that might as well be renamed to Havel the Rock. The length isn't too much of a difference from her standard sword. But the added heft, and length of the hilt makes life so much easier. Like her long sword, she handles it with incredible efficiency. Her strength and size of her body ignores some of the draw backs from using it in regular combat. This weapon is often left secured to her mount.
Short Sword and Dagger: Both are mundane weapons. But are her backups. Both are kept on her hips. While the arming sword's is visible, and fixed to the belts keeping her sash up. The dagger is virtually hidden, clipped to a belt under her makeshift skirt and tail.
Tail Armor: After countless battles, the armor for her tail has improved quite a bit. The tail now has chains wrapping around it in cross sections with metal thorns poking outwards from the links. The metal plates that were part of her complete set of armor, are now lined in dragon scales. The scales are mostly decoration than for function. However the spikes… show their function when the Sergal gives her opponent a hard slap with her tail.
Abilities: As far as abilities goes... she's mostly a mortal with few blessings.
The first is one that is natural to her race. Sergals have been graced with a decent flexibility, and the jumping ability of raptors.
The second is one granted by the goddess Del Sombra. Enhanced awareness. Few things are able to get the jump on the Sergal without her noticing it. Once an entity or object enters a certain radius, she's no longer caught flat footed and can respond accordingly.
The third: Piercing sight. Her eyes can pierce the shroud of darkness, the densest smoke and fog, and brightest light.
The fourth and last: The ability to speak to cats without paying an initial cost. This ability originally seemed useless to the Sergal. But she quickly found it invaluable, as there's not much these creatures can miss... and their wit quite incredible. However, secrets still require the usual cost. But hints, basic information, and general conversations are free of cost. Plus, such a blessing seems to keep Displacer Beasts off her ass... and makes Sphinx's more forgiving to an error.
Then put bronze inside of his walls. She does not need cats in his workshop to see what he's doing. a dense and thick enough layer of bronze will stop her omnipotence, and even prevent her from walking through the walls. She'll have to use the door like a normal person.
She's a goddess of secrets who builds dungeons, and is the mother of cats.
At some point in her life there will be a giant pit of pure sadism that needs to get filled when she builds these temples and vaults to protect another god's precious artifacts for their soon to be heroes.
I mean seriously, wouldn't you like to have a feline shaped god that can not speak normally, try to gesture out that it desires mushrooms whos spores when breathed in causes the body to suffer necrosis. Where the very flesh falls off of their bones.
Definitely keep the wrong people out of there. Fuck their shit up real good.
