Fraid I'm also going to have to drop out of this. I've just recently gotten a job and my free-time has gone down the drain. Sorry for not being able to continue!
@Kirah

Why thank ye for the kind words! I'm glad to see my writing is up to scratch.
Doctor George Mann

Sitting with the other teachers behind the Headmistress as she gave her speech to the students in the gym, George Mann supressed a yawn. He had been up all night flying around the Academy grounds as a crow. Feeling the wind through his feathers, the great sense of freedom… He always flew when he was stressed. And with the death of that poor girl, Natalie Coleman, Dr. Mann had been particularly stressed. The place where he saw generations of children grow into adults and go out into the real world, their powers finally realized, had been defiled with the blood of an innocent.

Not normally given to strong emotion Dr. Mann took a deep breath, settling his nerves. He had to be extra watchful this year. Emma had asked him to be, and he couldn’t refuse anything the Headmistress asked of him. He owed her this much, at the very least.

As the speech ended and the students began to wander off to get their packets, Dr. Mann stood up and excused himself from the other teachers. He needed to get away from the large crowd, away from all the noise. He needed time to let his mind relax and regain focus. His face sitting in its normal stern expression, it hid the turmoil going on inside his head.

Navigating the corridors of the Academy with the ease that comes from years of experience, Dr. Mann was startled to see a young woman already wandering the hallways ahead of him. She had moved fast, but seemed more inquisitive than lost. She seemed to be enjoying the freedom in fact, as he watched her spread her arms and pirouette around as she walked.

He recognized her after a few moments observation. She was the Ukrainian girl. An interesting case. He had chatted with her for a short while before the welcoming ceremony. What was her name? Natalia!

Straightening his tie, and putting on one of his friendlier smiles, he walked up to her, calling out in greeting. “Hello Natali. It is good to see that you are in high spirits."

She turned, looking at Dr. Mann, grinning. She truly was a beautiful woman, he noted. It seemed quite likely that she would be receiving the attention from boys in the Academy in no-time. "I told you to call me Valkyrie." She put her hands on her hips, strutting out her waist as she walked to him "How has it been, doctor? I heard you had a date with the head mistress!" She had a cool and calm composure letting out an coy smirk.

"I have been well Natali, thank you for asking." He said calmly. She seemed like the playful type, he thought. But more intriguing to him was where the rumours about his Emma’s relationship came from. The rumours weren’t incorrect exactly, but they weren’t entirely true either. He sighed inwardly, remembering the old saying ‘Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.’ Seemed like the opposite was true though. "And no, the

Headmistress and I do not have that sort of relationship." He gave her a faint smile, his green eyes flickering with bemusement. "Has something pleasant happened to you? You seem to be in exceptionally high spirits."

She straightened his tie, bending over as she almost leaned against him "Well, I am here..' She paused, thinking her words "I was bored at home, as they say... Parents equals lame?" She smiled "And here I can be me. Do you feel the same, ever?"

His hands went up to readjust his tie as he took a step away from her, his face unchanged from its faint smile. He hated it when people got too close to him, but he wouldn’t push the girl away. The students here needed attention and care, not neglect and avoidance. "Please don't do that Natali." Letting his hand fall back to his side he tilted his head slightly. "It is good you find it exciting, and perhaps enjoyable here. As for me feeling the same... What do you mean? The same what?"

"Do you not like it here?" She folded her hands behind her back, standing on her haunches, then going onto her toes. She had been like that during the ceremony to, he recalled. She looked constantly restless.

"I enjoy it very much. It is always a pleasure to teach the next generation." He said with a relaxed tone. It also helped that he was near the Headmistress and had a roof over his head, a bed to sleep in, and a nice secluded location to use his powers in. But she didn’t need to know that. "I wouldn't work here if I didn't take enjoy my job, or take pride in it."

She wheeled around "Do you think I could be an teacher?" She faced one of the paintings on the walls, studying its features. It was an original of some lesser known artist. Still seemed fancy though.

He nodded to himself. "Of course. You can be whatever you wish Natali, just make sure it appeals to you."

"Such endearment. Why don't you ever give the going away speech? You should this year!" She snickered, and swaggered herself, to start walking.

"Public speeches are not my forte." He said with a slight shrug, the idea of addressing a large crowd leaving a bitter taste on his tongue. "Nor do they appeal to me. The Headmistress is better suited to such tasks, so I leave matters like that in her capable hands."

"Such.. capable hands. I am sure you think fondly of them. Tata, my Aragorn." She kissed her hand, and waved to him, as she started to skip past him down the hallway.

He sighed quietly, but smiled none-the-less. She may prove to be a handful. At least she had good taste in literature. "Goodbye Natali. Stay well."

"Valkyrie!" She shouted, before launching herself around a corner and out of sight.

Dr. Mann rubbed a hand through his hair wearily. This was definitely going to be a busy year.

Name: George Mann. (Dr. Mann to the students)

Age: 46.

Year in School: Senior Biology Teacher

Appearance: Exactly six feet tall, Dr. Mann has a thin build and rather gaunt appearance in general. Despite this it is easy to see why he was referred to as being handsome in his youth, as his eyes still retain their sharp aqua-green colour, and his well-manicured brown hair has not receded or turned grey.

Power: Dr. Mann has the ability to shape-shift into any living creature real or mythical. This power only became apparent to the doctor as a child when he wished he was small enough to fit in the mouse-hole in his room and found himself shrunk to being a few inches long and having whiskers.

Biography: George Mann was an orphan who was raised in the Denver Orphans Home. He was a quiet and lonely creature who preferred his own company to that of others. By his 10th birthday a letter came to him from the prestigious Northwood Academy, coincidentally as his powers first began to manifest themselves. He attended the school and graduated with honours, going on to study out in the wider world, his powers a carefully kept secret. In time George Mann would become a Doctor in Biology, and was offered several lucrative contracts in governmental agencies throughout the Americas. However another letter arrived, addressed to him. The school had desire of his academic prowess, and wished for him to teach future generations.

Without hesitation, George Mann declined all other job offers and returned back to the quiet school of Northwood Academy. He has been teaching there for over 13 years, and seems content to do little more than that.

Personality: Quiet and reserved, George Mann is skilled at hiding his true feelings and emotions. The Doctor has never become emotionally attached to anyone or anything, aside from the school and the orphanage where he grew up, and displays little interest in pursuing any relationships either romantic or otherwise.

Yes there is room for more. No one from the interest (other than McH) has actually showed up, but I will allow others to join still.

Teachers are absolutely allowed, and yes are allowed to have powers. I'd prefer if you do that the teacher is an ex-student.

Sounds good!

I notice your first post says real pictures only. Are realistic drawings, such as this: http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/163/d/c/gman_by_jond7-d536m0x.jpg

Allowed?
Well this is an interesting concept! There room for one more, as a teacher mayhaps?

And if so, do teachers get super-powers?
The God-King's Exiles

God-King Slaashathar

Bio: Descended from the exiled reptilian Thangians, the God-King's Exiles maintain that they are the rightful rulers of Thangia. Hostile to any worshipper of the Burned God, they also harbour a deep distrust of mankind.

During their millennia long exile the reptilian Thangians have become adept warriors and survivors, travelling from one realm to the next, endlessly plotting a way to return to their home. Their current leader, God-King Slaashathar, has put forth a drastic change in plans for the reptilian Thangians. Instead of trying to reclaim their home, he argues, they should forge a new one. Having successfully defended his views, and his throne, from all opponents it seems increasingly likely that the reptilian Thangians shall wage war on a nation of man and create themselves a new place to live. Whether this a ruse, or part of a long-term plan to reclaim their homeland, none can be sure.

The Floods

Whilst Great Estros faced flooding from increased rainfall, Wessos seemed to be spared from such problems. The rainfall season came and went with little to mark it as being significantly different from past seasons, and the people of the land counted themselves lucky.

However it turned out their supposed good fortune would not last. Whilst Great Estros was drowning under the unending rain, the doom of Wessos came from the south and west. From deep in uncharted waters tsunamis of never before seen ferocity and speed swept up towards the continent and brought the land ruin on a scale not seen since the Cataclysm. Entire towns were swallowed by the sea, and the wise men of all of Wessos praised their gods that the capital cities themselves had not seen such a fate, even if they had lost entire districts to the merciless depths.

As the seas receded the governments of Wessos came forth to take note of the damages. The numbers they counted made even the most optimist amongst them grim.
