And it's impossible to edit a status. Wonderful. I meant to say my hard drive is down; I'm working out of a flash drive now.

Whoops. That's one flash drive destroyed. Kids, take good care of your toys! For those concerned, thank you! I don't have any storage, but I do have access to a browser; roleplaying continues!

Ah! That's what this is! It's my old role-player guild account!

Hello, folks, from a friend new and old. Old in that I spent many happy hours fictating way back in Old-Guild before Lost Christmas, and then I spent some time in New-Guild during its beginning development; new in that I've been gone for two years, so a lot of the "faces" I was familiar with back then don't seem to be haunting the place these days. Whether you've known me before or not, I extend to you a hearty greeting and a virtual feast. If you'd like a name shorter than the full one, please call me Taro. I'm rather comfortable with that one.

Well, you didn't come here just to hear about my history. You're probably looking to see what kind of a role-player I am. Truthfully, I'm not totally certain right now; two years without practice does bring on a multitude of changes. Then again, even in those two years I've kept the creative spark fed and fanned, in isolation though it may have been, and I can tell you this much with great certainty:
I like light-hearted laughter, soul-searching questions, and that precipice of commitment.
My favorite settings would be:
High Fantasy
Modern Fantasy
Science Fiction (new worlds, a newer Earth, even just in the immensity of space)
I consider it a given that, where boys and girls coexist in a story, Romance will blossom.
Horror I have a very weak stomach for. (I read the basic instructions for Betrayal at House on the Hill and had to consciously tell myself that night that everything was fine and I would sleep safely. I didn't even play a game; I only read the instructions!)
I stay away from graphic violence, sexual depictions of any nature, and profanities. I'm very much a PG-rated writer; I plan on sharing everything I write as bedtime stories with my kids someday.

I play a convincing dude (I'm sure you never would have guessed that), but a vast majority of my favorite characters are female. So if you have romance in mind, I'm happy to play either party. If you don't want a romance, you will probably have to tell me that plainly. Then I'll just go with what feels right for the story, subject to a few personal whims which I hope will only bolster the plot and development.

I'm very picky as far as my own ideas go. I'll try just about everything I can think of to break the idea in order to insure there are no gaping plot holes. I invite everyone else to examine my ideas in a similar light--different people, different thought processes, different problems discovered--and to offer any compliments or constructive criticisms you have. As part of that, I absolutely love pushing the boundary of an idea as far as it will stretch, or looking for that odd, "I never thought of using it like that" approach to a character's abilities.

What else would I say with this space? I really like old poetry; reading Isaiah gives me the happy trembles. I hope I've presented a fair assessment of my writing style and capabilities through this brief introduction. I love creating--creating characters and bringing them to life from the page; creating worlds filled with fascinating lore and beautiful locales; creating stories, be they narrations of ordinary men and women facing their trials or epics of fated heroes overcoming every obstacle to save Dwarf-kind.

And, in closing, I'm excited for the chance to work with you. I should be able to post daily. PM me anytime, especially if you have a question about anything I've said here or elsewhere, but even if you only want to chat. You could even ask me about my mysterious two-year absence. I'll tell you now that I was in California, but that doesn't really answer the question. I'm happy to talk anytime.

Sweet water and light laughter until next we meet!

That's what quests are available. My question is about the quest board/quest givers/however else a quest is given.
Alright, I've done a preliminary edit on Freya's CS. I'll be back later to work on the items and spells. I'm glad to see this is back!
@Hueman It's come up a few different ways now, so I'm going to ask for the sake of my sanity. How are quests given/accepted/completed? All I've found in the OOC is this:
Town Hall - The central area of the town where information can be gathered and requested. New quests or missions will regularly appear at this location. Players may also attempt to interact with NPCs in authority position at this location. Coins can also be exchanged to different types at this location, in case the town does not have a dedicated Bank.
@Airalin @Thecrash20 Whomever posts next should put us out in the field because of the time progression. I think everyone agreed on wanting to go kill stuff, so they probably accepted the boar hunt first. At least, Alisea voted for that.
Don't do that! The worst we would ask is you kill Oedipus, promise.

I say that in jest, but... I don't think Anni will support giving a serial killer superpowers. Unless he agreed to be collared, figuratively.
I'll sign, too. In the right margin, with illegible cursive and lots of big loops.
"Booted off the game." That was an incredibly mild way to phrase death. Sleeping with the fishes, Davey Jones' locker, passed on, gone to a better place--and now booted off the game. At the back of her mind, Alisea wondered if that phrase would catch on. At the front of her mind, Alisea was picturing trying to enter a dungeon with three people, neither healer nor tank, and no actual experience with battle. She eyed the tinker, face impassive, trying to estimate his skill compared to his apparent self-confidence--or recklessness, or even just ignorance. The magess couldn't tell which it was.

Fyaira's words, on the other hand, were far more sensible--and practical. Alisea found herself nodding along as the rogue spoke. "Right, we need to start in the fields. If we run about ten minutes south, we will run into some wild boars. I suspect any other direction will have mobs at about that distance."

Alisea cast her eyes about the plaza one more time, intending to pick out any other figures that looked combat-ready--when her gaze fell upon the royal palace directly east of where they stood. "And we should check with the town clerk to see if quests are open yet. When I checked earlier there weren't any, but now that we've been... properly greeted I do believe we will find a request of some sort."

Alisea started walking that direction, trusting her comrades would follow suit. Anything more they had to discuss, they could do it while traveling. Standing around just meant more time wasted, and this was no time for wasting time.
Oh. Man. @Leaves Dubstepp needs to tame a goblin. How would this happen? Let me think... The parties meet in the Wilds goblin-bashing, Alisea finds out he's a tamer, she asks him to use a slot to tame a goblin to bring back to the city. Yes, this is doable. It has to happen now.

Um, please. =)
The feeling of falling was incredible. Anni couldn't say if the feeling was because of whatever the Ghost Girl was doing to transport them or because of the tremendous rush of emotion and adrenaline as the train thundered toward and finally through her. Either way, for one dizzying moment Anni felt like she was falling--through space, through time, maybe even through the veil that held the Earth away from the mystical. Then her back was on solid ground. Her head continued swimming for a few moments more, but that, too, cleared quickly.

Anni opened her eyes.

Bright colors--vivid, verdant, vivacious--flooded her vision. Anni sat bolt upright, her eyes wide, and started turning her head each way--right, then left, then back again. Everything--from the grass, to the trees, to the sky, and yes, even the dirt--seemed so alive. It was the polar opposite of the grim, poorly lit station they had just left. No, far from that place of fear and death, this place was filled with life.

A wonderful, bubbly feeling gathered in Anni's chest. It flowed down through her legs and floated up into her head, until finally it burst out of her in a joyous, gleeful laugh. The young lady couldn't have stifled it even if she tried. Moments ago she was holding her skirts against a bleeding cop in the face of an oncoming train; now she was sitting in the promised world, very much not dead. It was like an answer to prayer, a witness after her faith.

The Ghost Girl spoke the truth. They were here. They were in Irriss.

Anni's eyes moved from flower to flower, then from flower to tree, then tree to grass, and from the grass to--people. Everyone was here. Not everyone was smiling and laughing like a child, though. Remembering the police officer, Anni spun around until she spotted him just a few strides away. She pushed herself toward him, half crawling and half jumping to reach him as quickly as she could. "Officer!" Anni called gently, kneeling at his side once again. "Officer..." Anni paused trying to remember the name he had used. She couldn't find it; too much was crowding her thoughts, and she struggled with people's names even without the swirling chaos. "...Sir?" she finished, simply for the sake of having a finish.
I like to think of it as a healthy respect for dungeons. You grind two levels, drop back to the city to replenish, then enter the ID. Caution in the face of death.
