Hi I don't know how anything works and I hate sleep.

"U-under the corpse." The color drained from Tim's already pale face, making his features look more sunken in. He had half-followed Rhiannon into the washroom, choosing to stay closer to the door. He tried very hard to not look at the thing laying facedown on the floor, pipe still sticking out of it.

It's a corpse, not a thing, chided the dark corners of his mind, making him all the more anxious to leave it. "Maybe we should just leave the supplies for now. If there are other people, there must be more supplies." Tim wiped his clammy hands against his work pants. "I don't want to touch the-the.." ,he gestured vaguely to the dead body.

At least the smell was better. If Rhiannon insisted he supposed he could help lift the body or something, as long as he could look away while he did it. And what of the others? He was sure he had faintly heard a shout or two, so there had to be other people besides himself and Rhiannon. Speaking of which, while his first instinct had been to trust Rhiannon, how much could he actually trust her? What if she knew more than she was giving away?

But then again, the girl seemed serious, so tense. Someone who knew what was going on wouldn't be that tense, right? Also what about the messages he had received. Welcome back. Make this unhappy man beside you happy. Did that mean he had to make the dead body happy? No, that made no sense. The phone was now in his front pants pocket, tucked away until the next time it might ring.

"Hey, uh, by the way. When you woke up was there, uh, was there a phone anywhere near you?"

I don't want to break the two post rule, but if no one posts by the time I wake up (in about 8hrs) you can bet I am!~
The girl seemed harmless. What had been her name? Rhiannon? What a pretty name. It reminded him of a pop star from Barbados that he rather liked, not that he would admit it to anyone. Anyway, he was glad he hadn't picked up that pipe. Why would he even need it against a defenseless girl?

Her family situation, or what little of it that she had revealed, didn't bother him. Growing up, a couple of Tim's friends had gotten in trouble of the law. At the time, Tim had only had three friends, so he felt that their punishment had been undeserved regardless of their crimes (one had gotten in trouble hacking computers, the other hit his third strike selling crack cocaine).

"Um, I think there were some supplies back there. With...the, uh, body." He gestured sheepishly behind him. Now that he was actually talking to someone, Tim felt his panic going down. No need for a meltdown. Yet. He took a deep breath, though the air still smelt awful, and felt his pulse go down. The dull thud of a headache still pulsed, but he could deal with that later.

"I thought I heard some shouting a couple minutes ago. It was really muffled, but there must be more people down that way." Tim looked down the hallway, trying to squint so he could make out anything weird in the shadows. He wanted to ask for a sip of Rhiannon's water bottle, but from the defensive way she held it, he suspected it was better to ask later.

"I'm up for some exploring I guess. I feel better now that I'm not alone. This is all really weird. Must be a prank if it's not a dream."

@tatszico Hi! I think I noticed a bit back, but was too shy to say anything! So excited for both of the rps we're in, though this one especially if I'm being honest. I love the gangster vibe ahaha :))

"Fuck." Nick, the information broker, had just walked in and sat down across from Esmeralda, meaning that there was no point in Thirty trying to sell out her favorite coffee joint. If there was anyone who would have paid enough for that information, Nick probably would have already sold it. It had been a crazy idea anyway, too out of line with his usual go-between work, even if he hated passing up a chance at quick cash.

Thirty contemplated his next move. His latest cup of coffee was already finished and he didn't feel he needed another one. Maybe it was time to leave. He could go do his drop off and then have a few hours to spare before his next shift at the bar. Whatever drama Nick had to share with the young Cardona really wasn't his business.

Then again, Thirty kinda hated Nick. Something about "Ace" the information broker pissed Thirty off, though he suspected it was related to Nick's smug attitude. Should he stay to see if he could pick up dirt on Nick? The young Cardona looked pretty annoyed, maybe he could score favor with the higher ups of Cosa Nostra and humiliate Nick at the same time. Glancing at the clock, Thirty decided to scope out the situation for a few more minutes first. Better make sure he wasn't going to risk pissing off Esmeralda.

@Musoka He hadn't expected the self described hard ass Thirty to be in a quaint coffee shop

I died laughing reading that line OMG. Thirty would hate it, but the boy can't throw a proper punch so I wouldn't worry.
Hey, just curious, how echo-y is the place? I'm assuming shouting can be heard from where Tim is compared to most of the rest of the group, but what about talking? How much do footsteps echo too?

Sorry if it's a dumb/annoying question, I've just been wondering haha.
I picked my own sign (Virgo), but everyone always tells me I act like a Libra haha. I didn't really know anything about the signs until a co-worker got me into them though.

Thirty sat sleepily in the coffee shop, slowly working on his fourth cup of coffee. The shop was a little up-scale for Thirty, definitely not a space he would normally enter, but they had been open at 5am and the owner hadn't kicked him out yet.

It had been a rough night. After ending his shift at the bar at 2am, Thirty had gotten a call on his phone from one of the smaller street gangs. There had been a scuffle over some drug money that had escalated and they needed help disposing of a body. And so Thirty had spent the next two and a half hours running through his contacts before handing the body off to a garbage disposal man. And he meant that literally. The garbage man was affiliated with one of the giant mafias that dominated New York and regularly did these kinds of pick-ups, though Thirty couldn't remember if the man was with the Sicilians or the Spanish.

Either way, by five in the morning Thirty had been tired, grumpy, and in need of coffee and a place to sit down for a few hours. Now in the shop, Thirty was still tired and grumpy, but he felt rested and capable to staying awake for his next job, a quick drop off for the Russians. The garbage man would text him later tonight to let him know the body was completely taken care of.

It was then, as Thirty was contemplating going out for his next job, that Esmeralda walked in. Thirty occasionally did business with the lower levels of the Cosa Nostra and recognized her immediately. It paid to stay aware of those at the top of the underground society.

Thirty stared at the girl. So Esmeralda Cardona, underboss of the Cosa Nostra, frequented this coffee shop. That was valuable information. She was bound to have some enemies that would pay for it.
