It's my understanding that Hard Meat (xenomorphs) are essentially drones, under the control/influence of the queen through pheremones and possibly mental control. There are strong warrior drones that seem to have a hierarchy or chain of command, but in general, no personality. Wouldn't that make playing a xenomorph kind of moot?
Moderate interest - I've been thinking about rejoining my Star Trek/Starfleet group lately, since I left to focus on school and career. This might be a good litmus test for it.

We could also use Oklahoma City, which has always been a crossroads area, has a rich Native American history and set of traditions in the area. Its crossroads nature is especially true for the supernatural as well as a littoral sense. It's not as big as Chicago, but it's population is still well over a million people.

San Francisco is another good choice, but people might associate it with Charmed too much. Seatle could work, or Portland. Salem and Ipswitch I do like as possible locations.
I agree that dragons are under-used, but I'm not sure how they are organized or operate. The only ones I know of are Ferrovax and Sirriothrax, the latter of which was killed by Michael Carpenter. I think a Dragon would just be plot-device powerful... a GM's Player-be-good-stick to club people over the head with. Then again, history (if you base it off myth, lore, and legend) is full of dragons being taken out by even every day mortals. Know-how is a big part of it, so maybe they aren't that big of a blunt object.

The Outsiders could certainly play into things.

I agree that the White Council has its own corruption and problems, especially with Nemesis causing trouble there. I think in this particular scenario, as in present-day... it would put itself on the side to get rid of the ThreeEye again. There are better ways to amp up magical ability, without such hideous side-effects.

ThreeEye is kind of cornered on the market, and is being watched for. How about... a new drug. ThreeEye behaves pretty specifically, in what it does. That's usually one of the things about magic in general. Perhaps something new hitting the streets would be better. Something that gives people a supernatural high, and then thus amps up their energies. Evidence for this is seen in Fool Moon when Harry makes himself a potion to amp up, or refresh himself, like a Mana potion or something. It works great, and helps him a lot, but at the same time he blew through his refreshed energy very quickly, and it altered his judgement. For the average person, having a ton of life and magic jammed into them would be such a great feeling they wouldn't know what to do with it, and the high would last for hours or even days, and they would be a shining beacon. of energy, and probably delicious to darker things out there.

As Harry put it when talking to Bob, he wanted something like a good night's sleep in a bottle. It worked, really well... and it was almost like magical methamphetamine, with a very feel-good component. Another way to look at it is something like a magical energy shot, like 5 Hour Energy... only much more enhanced and longer-lasting. Focus, power, energy, will.. A lot of people could use it for a lot of things, good and bad, even without magical effects.

So, problem solved there.

The Wardens would definitely want to get involved. While this potion could be used recreationally and in a positive way... given over to darker, baser emotions, someone amped up on this stuff could manifest abilities, knocking out electronics, even creating bursts of energy and the like. If they figured out how to conduct rituals while on this, they could do some really undisciplined things. So then they start using it all the time and start learning magic but in a corrupt, twisted, unbalanced sort of way. Much like how Victor Sells was picking it up. Things could spiral out of control with this stuff, and it's addicting as hell. But it could instill and awaken real ability in others, which creates a whole new bag of worms for the Wardens to deal with. What do you do when you find one who's been using the Rise, and has the gift? That's probably going to depend on how, why, and what they've been using it for and with. It's going to require trials, much like when dealing with Lawbreakers.

This also means that the Wardens might get new fuel, and the ranks of the magical community swell again.

And if you want to be evil, perhaps a little seed of Nemesis could be carried in the potion. (I don't really like that idea, but it's a particularly evil idea that could be used. Maybe some of the potions have it, some dont, so there's a percentage chance of catching it...)

Just my unfinished/unpolished thoughts.
Yeah, I went and saw it in the theater a couple weeks ago and it was great.

Falling Skies, I discovered a few weeks ago and watched the first three seasons back to back. Season 4 is airing right now on TNT. Let's put it this way, I started re-watching the first three seasons again, just because.

It didn't seem like the Warfare and Cloverfield ones were taken, which is why I mentioned them.
I am disappoint as it's a great show. It's also post-apocalyptic, which is why :I figured you would, as there's a number of things in your IC that are Post-Apoc or related.

Like one or two others I'm interested in the Thieves idea,

I'm also interested in: In the Warfare
` Two related bothers/sisters join the Marines to fight for a cost, yet protect each other.
Action, Adventure, and War.

Mild to very interested in a number of things in this thread. Also, I wonder if you've gotten a chance to look at the TV show Falling Skies.

Other Information: Age: 31 Sex: Male Gender: Male Occupations - Massage Therapist RP Experience - 15 years plus, started in Palladium Books RIFTS setting, went to D&D 2nd Ed, explored numerous systems and settings since. Started roleplaying in Yahoo Role-Playing Games chat rooms and Yahoo User Rooms at age 14, moved to Arts & Entertainment dubbed the realm Ayenee. Got into Para/Casual to Advanced at that point, got involved in Waterdeep MUD and eventually became a Role-Play Teacher/Instructor there. Eventually found myself in Star Wars Roleplaying Game Board/Expansion of the Force 2.0, became a long-running member of the community and became Grand Master of the Jedi Order, took over leadership of Wraith Squadron during the Protectorate War. Eventually the RP died, but it lasted for roughly a decade. Discovered the Guild a couple years ago, and jumped in feet first. Been part of many games or groups here, and made a number of friends. Some have not seemed to return, but some have. I consider myself a decent writer, most people want to read my works, whether story or RP. I hope to continue entertaining and providing good material for others to read and to work with. I consider myself a decent GM, and generally am hands-off, and like to let my players to be creative. I can, however, take players by the hand and lead them around if they need someone to play daddy. I don't like doing it though. I'm pretty old-school when it comes to GMing. I work off the top of my head, as I expect my players to monkey-wrench things so I can't account for everything... so I don't try. I'll base things off of what they do/say. Of course i can work with a series of plot points and keep things moving, but I find p[layers respond best when they have freedom. My schedule can be a little wonky, but I'm usually around for RPing. I like action, plot, adventure, and fun, but I also like detail, and adherence to world-conventions, accuracy, believability. I'm pretty creative. Don't give me anything you don't intend for me to use, or adapt to a use you didn't expect. I haven't run that many games here because I feel I would intimidate a lot of people, and I'm also a little nervous about it. I love 1x1's - not for smut (which is fun, but just for the sake of it gets old), but for development, interaction, and keeping a story smaller and more manageable. Feel free to hit me with PM's if you want to RP. I always respond to PM's, if I can, and usually quickly.
